Gonna say, I'm coming up on 20 years in the fire service now, and that traffic plus that driving just made me clench the whole time waiting for someone to get hit.
Preach !!! Driving Code Three increases risk exponentially. Add to the fact that most apparatus here has safe , presrcribed seating for four men , yet you see 8 “ firefighters “ hanging to the sides , on top of hose beds etc. That nonsense was stopped in the early 80’s after too many FF Deaths in the United States. The lack of proper Emergency Vehicle Operator is self evident. The Operator of an Emergency Vehicle running Code still has an expectation of driving defensively and to the correct standard of care. It is not a get out of free card and in fact , an EVO hurting the public is Criminally liable for driving in this egregious reckless due regard. I agree with Sir Truffle , watching these cowboys in full maniac mode scares me
@@NewMilleniumFireVolunteer I don't think I meant it as a compliment or insult either one. Just an observation on the very different sort of traffic over there, and the aggressive-looking driving. I will say that even with the crowded traffic like that, I was impressed that people still do try to move over for emergency vehicles... That has become much less common in the US. I still would have been hesitant to drive quite that fast in that much crowding though.
May nakita akong post sa fb kanina, isa ata siya sa nasunugan kanina. Sinisi nya yung bumbero dahil mabilis na daw kumalat yung apoy. Thank you sir. Yung Firefighting sir, ideally kasi helmet cam dapat. Since we cannot afford a decent helmet cam, we just take a cellphone video clips. Please try to understand that we follow some protocols. It is not good to the eyes of the fire victims seeing us firefighters in the frontline holding a cellphone and getting videos. We try to avoid any confrontation. Tumutulong ka na ng libre, eh ikaw pa ang mapapasama. But we feel them so we are very sensitive on this matter.
Sir, it is not possible po with cellphone cam. In our brigade, we follow protocols especially when you are in the frontline. It is not good to the eyes of fire victims, seeing the firefighters or fireman holding a cellphone and taking videos the whole time. We Volunteers are multipliers of the BFP. Everything we do good, they take the credit. Everything we do bad, in most cases, they take responsibilities to the public especially some legal matters.

As always, fire smoke looks very near but in reality, it is far away. Sir, I know the place because I was born and raised in the area. I've disregarded 3 traffic enforcers/guide because I've already anticipated where trucks are badly needed. We've monitored the numbers of truck already responded. There were atleast 20 already. Most likely, these early responders followed these guides. If I did the same way, I had arrived to a pile up of truks and found myself far from the fire scene. As you can see here, there were only 3 fire trucks there. If I entered after the bridge, I will still need to travel 1 kilometer on a very narrow road. You have to consider the double parked vehicles on residential roads. In most cases with big trucks, that would cause you the delay. Sometimes, you have to back up to find a different option.
@@ffjsb You know what? We have a different culture. You have your own setup in your country. I didn't know that the word "EMERGENCY" has been changed in other country.
That was a great job responding to the scene of the fire. After a stressful run like that, I would think it was time for a stiff drink. Is there also a video of the fire? Again, Great job.
Thank you sir! Just a few clips sir included in the video. It was an open fire and we are exposed to the public. We have protocols to follow here sir because of our culture. It is not good to the eyes of the fire victims seeing us holding a cellphone in the frontline and taking videos of their burning homes. Unlike in other countries, when there is a fire, they cordoned the fire scene. As you can see here sir, there are many people everywhere.
Sir. I don't know why I watch so many of your videos, but I do. :) I liked when the traffic police (?) are clearing you to turn and you are going the other way. I am trying to figure out your relationship to the Quezon City Fire Department. Do they radio out for you if they need the extra help? Or do you listen to their radios and respond to every confirmed fire? I'm sure those trucks are expensive to keep running so I am assuming that someone pays you for the fire runs. How does the New Millenium Volunteers work? Thank you.
Sir, first of all, I would like to thank you for watching our fire responses. It seems to me that you are a foreigner living/working in the Philippines. But it is just a wild guess. I could be wrong though. Heheh. Anyways, I will answer your queries. 1. I liked when the traffic police (?) are clearing you to turn and you are going the other way. In most cases sir, we seek guidance from these traffic police/enforcers to lead our way to the fire scene. But in this particular response, I've disregarded 3 traffic enforcers and followed our own plan. The reason for this, well of course because we know the place and we live in the area. If I followed the first enforcer after the bridge, it is a narrow road, a residential road of double parked vehicles. You have to travel 1 kilometer more on a narrow road. Early responder fire trucks followed the lead by this enforcer. That had resulted to bring numerous fire trucks in just single location. Because of the pile up, you'll find yourself far from the fire scene. Because of this, other locations will not be covered. This is the reason why we disregarded them because we have anticipated the situation so we could hit a better location. As you can see sir, we hit it dead center. By the way, around 20 trucks had arrived to the scene already before we hit the road. 2. I am trying to figure out your relationship to the Quezon City Fire Department. The Beaure of Fire Protection (BFP) of the Phillipines has the mandate to this job. We Volunteers, are just their multipliers. We have accredition from the QCFD as their partners. 3. Do they radio out for you if they need the extra help? No sir, they don't and they won't. As always, they practise their mandate as provided by the law. They do it on their own even without the help of the volunteers. Every volunteer fire brigade hit the road in our own discretion. The government cannot direct us to go out and run. 4. Do you listen to their radios and respond to every confirmed fire? Yes we do sir. Every fire brigade belongs to an organization. In our case, we are members of CENTRAL and NATCON. These organizations are manned by radio operators, 24/7 on duty. They monitor the radio of the government that's why are alerted whenever there is a verification. There are times that the report comes from the volunteer group first. Just like in this particular fire, this was reported first to CENTRAL through telephone. The QCFD got a report 2-3 minutes later. We run even if it is not confirmed yet. You can hear in our radio that there are times that we run during the "verification" stage. 5. I'm sure those trucks are expensive to keep running so I am assuming that someone pays you for the fire runs. We have supporters sir for the petrol of our truck, equipments, PPC, PPE. Thank God that there are private companies or businesses who are willing to help us with our expenses. We are pure volunteer. Our fire trucks responses for free. All of us members are giving our time, talent, effort for free. We are not employed just like what the others think. We don't have transportation allowances. Not even a petrol to our ride. We spend from our own pocket. 6. How does the New Millenium Volunteers work? Currently sir, we don't have a quarters. We do our duties only at night because of our day job. We don't have members available during daytime. We are struggling to find funds to get some upgrades to our equipments. But because of our passion to help for free, we are still here responding since 2001.
