Great Video, when they mean housing shortage do they mean affordable housing shortage? Yeah there are more homes in the market but if the local market is unaffordable then they need more affordable housing inventory. 5 years ago 250k could get you a nice home, now for 250K you get a burned damage townhouse lol.
That’s the issue. So many of these sources aren’t using the word affordable but that’s really what the problem is!
There are surplus of homes.

@@WendyPannell Sheep just listen to some rumor and act on it.
People are buying multiple homes on loans because they believe in 6 months the value goes up.
They believe their jobs are immune to economic factors, once job losses begin and property values start dropping these people will come out like cockroaches in the dark.
Ask these banks how are they issuing loans to people on H1's visas, it is clearly a non immigrant visa.
I live in one of those cookie cutter housing developments and it's absolutely horrible. The roads are pretty much one way because the city allowed the developers to make the roads so narrow and we can hear our neighbors in their garage because they have made the homes so close together. We hate it and will be moving as soon as possible. The local governments do not care about the quality of life for anyone, its all about the money.
The housing shortage advocates want to make the lots even closer together 🫣☹️

That’s my thought, yes. The number of missing households that Up for Growth uses in claiming the housing shortage is commiserate to the number of households realtor.com says have been priced out of home ownership.

This is absolutely not true. We have a shortage of affordable housing due to the unethical appraisal districts in Texas.

The Realtors are using data from the Comptroller and Up For Growth though, so I think the indictment extends beyond Realtors. No one should ever use any data to pressure a rushed sale though, and I think that is where sometimes Realtors can be to blame.
