Team, Thanks for sharing the video. We have two instance with the same instance type t3.large and we need to find out how many hours each instances are running separately. When we checked our invoice it shows the instance types are combined and showing the total number of hours the two instance was running and the price. I have enabled the cost explorer but still I"m unable to find the running hours separately for the two instance. Kindly let me know how can I proceed further on it.
Good observation Devang as always :) Well, the detailed billing file captures the details of so many services. Though for certain EC2 instances the billing happens per second now, but for many other it is still not. It is just a choice to record in the file on per hour basis (how much ever is consumed in that hour).

I had EC2 Linux instance and used it for only 9 hours and terminated it as got to know that I was getting charge for linux instance. later, after 4 hours again saw the billing it got more than that. Though, i checked all the resource are free, Elastic IP, instances and S3 were already freed.
You should look at the detailed billing file, that will give you right idea for what all hours are you getting charged. You can then probably raise a support ticket, if you don't see it right..
Hi, Is it possible to create tags programatically and observe the cost per user in cost allocation groups? We are using a single EC2 instance in which quite a number of partners(partner ids are present) are using, we would like to see their EC2 usage(billing) in which mulitiple dockers are being run(array jobs). Basically we need to generate billing report for different partners using the service! Thanks in advance!
I wanted to tag all my S3 objects in S3 buckets ,but the object count is in millions ,so I cannot use AWS apis to tag such a larger amount of objects ,is there any alternative
if these are 3 instances for different customers in same AWS account - apply a tag Customer_ID and give values. Make this tag as Cost allocation tag. if these are in 3 different AWS accounts, then enable detailed billing in all 3 accounts. You can share our videos and support us if we helped you.

As these reports are located in your S3 bucket, you can use S3 CLI commands to copy it to your local.

We have 3 customers instances with different account id's. I want automatic billing report for each customer account. How can I do that?
