Honestly i bought the game when it came out with hope that we'd get a half decent afl game think i had the game for couple months before trading it back in was disappointed no pro team which was one reason i was keen to play it watching your videos almost made me wanna buy again but just thought with my limited time to play games do i really wanna play that and decided against it which i think was best decision not to buy again
Yeah probably a good call to save money man as its basically a pay to win game mode. Nobody has enough time to grind especially on AFL23 with the gameplay issues

I still have it, and I still play AFL23. Just not playing online nor paying money for cards. Just coach career mode. But I do agree, it needs more and better improvement in a lot of areas.
I agree with you, the game is a mess. I do not give a damn about Pro Team to be honest, some players do, some don't. Why do they not care about ANYTHING else except Pro Team. Listen to us! Fix the career mode, fix the small issues. I have some really minor things that won't matter to most people, but do to some 1. When will the 2025 fixture and club lists update be out? 2. When creating a custom club with players already in the game, you should be able to adjust their guernsey number, added Cumming to the Crows list, so now I have two 13’s running around. Let me change the guernsey number. Unrealistic! 3. I also feel as if custom teams should be allowed to replace actual teams within the actual management mode. 4. Could I make my own fixture? Just so when I am playing certain games for fun with my custom teams, at the start of every single game it doesn’t go, “welcome to this pre-season match”, not every game is a pre-season match y’know. Make an option for the commentators to say "Thursday Night Footy", or "Semi-Final", easy fixes, they dont care! 5. In finals game, make the timer and scores gold, give us the year of the grand final on the oval, give us different cutscences, new commentary. I swear I have MEMORISED what Huddo says! Why can't they literally use the FC Games as an idea to help them shape how their manager mode works. Ours aren't even good! Let us trasnfer players from other teams, why am I randomy seeing stupid trades like Daicos is now at Port? Make it make sense. Make it so we get sacked, make it so we can move clubs, make it so we can hold oress conferences, coach the SANFL. WHY IS MY PLAYER RETIRING ONE WEEK BEFORE THE GRAND FINAL? IT MAKES NO SENSE?? If a player is injujred coming into the Grand Final, but it's only a 'fitness test', let me risk them playing the game for a longer injury. Give us more freedom, let us do stuff, make this game fun. SORRY for the rant, but these small things make the game 1000 times better for us as players. Some may agree, others may not, but this is huge for me.
I love this man. 100% agree on all points. Not having a normal career mode is criminal. Ive turned the commentary off because huddos commentary is so unrealistic and flat. The manager mode is a disaster i dont even play it. Such good points there man god i hope the developers see this.
I still have the game but I rarely play it and if I do play it I don’t think about pro team, fortunately I have spent no money on the game, when the game first game out about 2 years ago I was extremely excited but now I don’t want to play it because they are adding cards that really don’t need to be added. Thanks for your advice and opinion on the game and let’s hope that the next game has a better strategy with pro team and how they introduce the game to us.

I did grind to get the level 40 Dusty Martin, but it’s so boring to do. I can’t be bothered doing it this time round. You play on easy get over 100 goals to nothing for a good boost but no challenge.
The cricket game use to be good but when they started to focus on more games like tennis and afl they gave themselves too much work load. Since 2ktennis is back they should just focus in afl and cricket 🫠
Well said, mate. i haven't touched Pro Team since the first month of it, tbh I was so buggy every time i played it. I think if they bring out another game this season, I'll hold off buying it until i hear honest reviews on it...

Bought this on launch and lost my shit that no proper Career mode would be launched. So I managed to trot along a few months using custom teams 😅. Pro Team came out and reassured me why I stopped playing FIFA UT. IMO = all this game needed was a dedicated Career Mode.
I did exactly the same thing. Made my own sharpy teams, a tassie devils team. Pro team after 2 months clearly became their focus (a quick cash grab) Not having a career mode is legit the one thing i love to grind on my channel. The previous AFL game had one.. how could this one not have it???
I just think there's so much chaos involved in Aussie rules that it's too much for these small local game developers. Games like FIFA have had years and years of development and iteration and you just won't get a decent game from multiple small local developers. And i don't see that changing any time soon because the market is tiny in comparison to FIFA and Madden.
Yeah true. But comparing it to EAFC and NBA is harsh like you said. We just need them to fix the issues in the game and not focus on the quick half assed game mode of pro team that is providing them with a quick cash grab.
FYI There’s a bunch of legends/retirees that have been released that aren’t on the list shown. Dean Cox, Jason McCartney, Peter Busustow, Daniel Harford, Graham Wright, Josh Kennedy etc. They’re releasing bunches of them (along with a few from that list) each season of Pro Team… so still worth the hunt IMO.
@ Yeah I see… but I also think that releasing them all from the start would mean people would get over it quickly. IMO Releasing batches of them in seasons gives players something specific to target, and a bit more longevity to the mode.

Thanks man I'm glad i could help in some way. I worry about the incoming ProTeam for Cricket 24. Theres still gameplay issues like fielders standing still, the stumps are concreted into the ground, a.i pathing issues. Once they are fixed. Fine. But like AFL23 they look to be just chasing the money.
They also released pro team at the worst time, pretty much at the end of the footy season and the same time fifa 25 released. Uninstalled the game ages ago
Tredrea was my favourite player growing up and was a massive reason I was excited for pro team but it’s so disappointing hes not there. Even players like bucks or pav these are icons of the afl but aren’t considered legends in pro team. And what makes it worse is the only port “legend” in the game I know of in Polec. Like really Polec he got delisted with 2 years on big contract at north Melbourne.
I remember being so excited when I saw the trailer then the game got delayed then again and so I bought it on my ps4 when I play on Xbox series x just for it to be announced to com out on Xbox in a week. Played it hated it stopped playing it so when protean came out I didn’t have high hopes and it was alright at first but then it became impossible to mark cause people would just spam species instead of play properly that includes you but I love your content so I’ll let it slide and it just made the game so unplayable haven’t touched it in like 4 months
I was looking so far forward to this game, and the biggest turn off for me is the common modern game tumour that is *no offline availability; internet being required to play.* For that, I’ve been staying with the PS3 with AFL Live and Live 2. But, blessing in disguise; looks like I was able to dodge the monumental disaster that AFL 23 ended up being.
@ I don’t know, but I wouldn’t be imagining that to be the case, seeing as even the physical covers for the game on both the PS4 and Xbox (oh, and the PS5 too) say it’ll require an internet connection. Many mobile games that do require internet would just outright refuse to play if you turn the data and Wi-Fi off on your phone, so I’d imagine this game would do something similar if you were to disconnect the modem or disable the internet connectivity on the console.
Was so hyped for pro team when they released the reveal trailer, the wait time was so long where i was lost interest in the game then when it finally came out, lost hype overtime cause of the damn glitches. every single game, there was at least 20 glitches. Any other game that I have played and there was a ton of glitches, i gave the game a break until the game company fixed the issues which they did but when Big Ant tries to fix their issues, it brings out more glitches. Never spent money on pro team but i still regret paying full price on steam. Every sport game that includes a pro team / ultimate team game mode. they are all pay to win. I found my old AFL evolution 2017 game, thought I might have a go, I enjoyed that game so much more than AFL 23
Where’s the AFLW update that was promised? Where’s the online spectator mode that was promised? I’ve offered many times to help free of charge and it has gone nowhere, even though I have assisted in the past. I honestly don’t know how they can be proud of their efforts with this game, reminds me of DBC17 in the way that they’ve tried too much at once and it hasn’t worked. Luckily for cricket, their 3 games since then have shown great improvement which gives us a bit of faith for the next afl game, which will be make or break.
I want a Player Career Mode Like the FIFA games but have not been treated. Player career would really Help SO much players and I would Really Like Nick Riewoldt in the game so I can grind as a Saints fan. Or just get him in the actual player academy I would also like plenty of Pro team players in Player academy too as it would be very helpful. Obviously I still play the game so much and find it pretty boring,fun and challenging but would really want Big Ant To add them very good stuff like I mentioned Player careers so yeah my thought of AFL 23 Right now
Omg the glitches dont get me started on them. Id have the ball and all of a sudden it glitches and the AI or my opponent has it and kicked a goal ive quit so many times i honestly gave up caring about the game
It is actually bad when you look at this list that they first said where going to be the legends in the game but what else do you expect from bigant I did play it for a bit again but I have never put money in to be fair to bigant they did fix the contract thing but you do have to play it a lot but you can get way more contracts for your players
AFL games would be better if there was competitors maybe. I remember when wicked witch and and big ant both made games in 2011 I think on Wii and ps and Xbox and they both felt more fun than now.

Sports games need to change their entire strategy. Every year (as far as the US sports at least), there's a new, yearly release of a 2K game. The content isn't much different from the years previous release, and probably has more inaccurate rosters than ever. I've given up on them, aside from being terrible at them, I just don't see the change in format or modes, that warrants a standard price for a console game. When it comes to what you're bringing up, bug fixes, AI errors, slow content release, it makes the player base just walk away, and go to a 2K game. At least with that, the errors in the game are addressed by the next years release.
I don’t know why they stopped updating game play. They clearly want money from pro team. The game play can still be so much better. Pro team is okay for me in terms of card collecting but it’s just I cbf playing games with those cards coz it’s just not fun game pkay

You know those games on phones where you collect cards and it’s not game play but more a strategy game of placing cards at certain times, I feel like afl 23 would be better off using our cards like that because playing with the awkward game play makes good cards not so good sometimes. It’s just a very average game and I feel like we need a new game from the ground up
Pro team is a good idea but it’s not any good without good game play. Rather have a great game play game with just play now and manager mode then a shit game play with pro team
They must start on Afl 25. Pro team delivered, good. Don't care for pro team, bs kiddy cr@p. Theyve now fulfilled there legal obligation. Manager mode is the actual game and there's no injury, no player form line, no suspensions. Big Ant are now doing what EA does, ignore franchise mode. We say this all the time, the template is now there, use it to make a new game which they should endeavour to create 'the game' we're all waiting for.
The problem is big ant studios afl cricket and iv been waiting sins last year 2023 for the rugby game that been in early access for 12 months that a shit show
For me there is no point playing pro team when the gameplay’s trash. If the. Manager mode was half decent then you could just do rebuilds but the sim engine is hundred per cent random you get 78 rated key forwards with 0 set shot accuracy the trading system makes no sense but you can still do realistic trades contract system makes no sense players 60 rated players ask for absurd amount of money random players play good in my save Samson Ryan was the Brownlow medalist and Chol was the Coleman I was head coach of hawthorn and Sam butler was averaging 40 I tried changing every player to make more of a difference it helped a little bit but north was still half decent came (10th)
I won't ever get over the fact there isn't suspensions or injuries in the season mode, they have shit the bed

Yeah agreed its super lackluster on the content side of things. Nobody wants to play a 2 hour game of football and kick 100 goals to 0. Its so boring.

Yes! I love doing career modes on my channel. They have one in cricket 24 but just couldnt get it done for AFL23 and thats super disappointing.

Sports games need to change their entire strategy. Every year (as far as the US sports at least), there's a new, yearly release of a 2K game. The content isn't much different from the years previous release, and probably has more inaccurate rosters than ever. I've given up on them, aside from being terrible at them, I just don't see the change in format or modes, that warrants a standard price for a console game. When it comes to what you're bringing up, bug fixes, AI errors, slow content release, it makes the player base just walk away, and go to a 2K game. At least with that, the errors in the game are addressed by the next years release.
I regret buying, stopped playing 12mnths ago because I want proper simulation and stats. Not your fault Big Ant failed miserably

I don’t know why they stopped updating game play. They clearly want money from pro team. The game play can still be so much better. Pro team is okay for me in terms of card collecting but it’s just I cbf playing games with those cards coz it’s just not fun game pkay

Stop focusing on the money grab and lets get the gameplay right beforehand so then we can enjoy the card collecting.
You know those games on phones where you collect cards and it’s not game play but more a strategy game of placing cards at certain times, I feel like afl 23 would be better off using our cards like that because playing with the awkward game play makes good cards not so good sometimes. It’s just a very average game and I feel like we need a new game from the ground up
Pro team is a good idea but it’s not any good without good game play. Rather have a great game play game with just play now and manager mode then a shit game play with pro team

Manager mode is the actual game and there's no injury, no player form line, no suspensions. Big Ant are now doing what EA does, ignore franchise mode.
We say this all the time, the template is now there, use it to make a new game which they should endeavour to create 'the game' we're all waiting for.
Also.. make a damn single career mode like the have in cricket 24. We had it in AFL Evo 2 and it was great.

For me there is no point playing pro team when the gameplay’s trash. If the. Manager mode was half decent then you could just do rebuilds but the sim engine is hundred per cent random you get 78 rated key forwards with 0 set shot accuracy the trading system makes no sense but you can still do realistic trades contract system makes no sense players 60 rated players ask for absurd amount of money random players play good in my save Samson Ryan was the Brownlow medalist and Chol was the Coleman I was head coach of hawthorn and Sam butler was averaging 40 I tried changing every player to make more of a difference it helped a little bit but north was still half decent came (10th)
