From my understanding this design without the Color timer, no eye holes and no dorsal fin, was inspired by Toru Narita's original concept art for Ultraman.
Can't wait for this movie, and a Baltans sequel would be epic! Also nice to see the hands from the other Figuarts can be used on this figure to create the special moves hopefully he uses in the film and hopefully that means those with both figures won't necessarily feel the need to double dip if/when they release a new figure with effects pieces.
Tamashii has made great strides for their ultraman figures, and this looks no different. But I still prefer the ultra-act 2.0 body molds. They really don’t have that issue of the limited crunch that this one does.
Ive read somewhere that the founder's original design was pretty much as accurate as this one. The mouth was supposed to move and talk too but due to their limitations back then they just couldn't do it, and theyre assuming kids would be terrified if the ultras were to open their mouth now.
When you did the size comparison between the, shin Godzilla and shin ultraman, wow, that was an impressive comparison. Like a real nightmare test. Good review. Looks very slim and athletic, like a marathon runner this version. Strong poses.
The reason why Shin Ultraman doesn’t have a colour timer and why his body proportion isn’t like the other Ultras, it’s because they want to put an ‘alien’ feel to him. All of the Shin Franchises focuses more on how this fictional characters would look like if they were in real life. In other words, they’re a bit dark and realistic.
Alex Farmer's comment below is correct. The creator originally didn't have the color timer. It was added for the TV show to add more tension and raise the stakes for Ultraman to beat the Kaiju of the week. My understanding is that the creator really didn't like it.
I got into Ultra MAN because of SPECTRAMAN, who I really really wish we could get a 6in and 12in figure form of him, this Ultra Man looks amazing in fight stances, and the way light bounces off him is too dope
Mines left arm socket was missized so i used insta morph plastic to fix the hole. Glad to see you got a good one. Also, you can use a adhesive for crafts rhinestone u can find on amazon or your local Hobby store.
