    【 Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace】
In the first half of the 18th century, the Qing Dynasty ushered in the era of the last longevity emperor. The flourishing Hongli (Wallace Huo) officially ascended the throne and was named Qianlong. At the same time, side Fu Jin Ruyi (Zhou Xun) who has known each other since childhood and is on a blind date with Hongli, also comes to the palace to confer the title of Princess Xian. Suddenly at the core of the political struggle, the two people gradually feel a huge sense of tear. The emperor and Princess Xian supported each other and moved forward and backward together, finally clearing the obstacles one by one. It seems that everything is beautiful for Ruyi to be promoted to a queen, but on the bumpy road, the mature and experienced emperor has been in harmony with his old love.
All are good at first, But few prove themselves to be so at the last.

One thing I think we can all agree on is that the Qianlong Emperor was a horrible father, he didn't do enough to protect his children from the deadly intrigues of the palace and infact he even abandoned some of them. He also set the tone for the collapse of the qing dynasty as towards the end of his reign he became delusional in his ego and allowed his government to be overran by yes men, a problem that persisted with subsequent emperors and resulted in the ultimate end of the Qing Dynasty.
It seems to me that the biggest fault of his Step-Empress is that she wasn't enough of a doormat for him.

Look at the face of the Emperor ! Anger , contempt . Blaming Ruyi for what ! Nevermind 😆 ! The Emperor lives a lonely life in the end . He doesn't deserve Ruyi at all .

in RL even the diplomats from Joseon, as well as King Yeongjo and his grandson King Jeongjo (long story on why the Dragon Throne skipped one generation), were astonished at Qianlong's behavior towards Step Empress after her demotion: mainly how nobody (from high up down to the commoners) was willing to speak up about the matter (someone who tried to defend her at court was punished by lifetime exile through the frontier), hence why even the royal court at Joseon was in the dark about wtf happened in Hangzhou during that infamous Southern Tour; and why the Emperor left the Phoenix Throne vacant for the rest of his reign and (apart from Lady Weigiya as Imperial Noble Consort) managed the Six Palaces

@@iguava there are 3 conspiracy theories in the Korean side, mostly developed by the same diplomats at the time:
      1. Qianlong's obsession with Consort Rong (which is also mentioned in the Chinese's own theories)
      2. Step Empress's infidelity with a male official (in "Ruyi" the Ling Yunche arc, an adaptation of "Zhen Huan"'s arc with Imperial Prince Guo; in "Yanxi" the Prince Imperial He arc)

      notes:
      1. the reason why "Ruyi" was held up in SART bureaucratic purgatory and "Yanxi" aired first
      2. in "Yanxi" there is a character named Niohuru Chenbi, and she's actually a combo of Consort Rong & Noble Lady Shun, the latter of which in RL was formerly Imperial Concubine Shun but for some unknown reason was demoted to Noble Lady, which was incorporated in the storyline
