I deleted Facebook and Twitter accounts over 3 years ago and never had a Snapchat account and was the best thing I ever did. I kept Instagram purely for photos but use that once or twice a month. It was amazing how much free time it gave me. People actually phone me now or text me and meet up face to face rather than thinking well as long as I speak to someone on social media that will do. Having that privacy is great.
A couple of RUclipsrs have said the galaxy fold has made them use their phones less. That extra step of having to open it in order to use it perturbs mindless browsing. It’s use , they say, becomes much more purposeful. I think it’s a great way to combat phone addiction without having to downgrade the technology
That is why I am going to try and switch to a flip phone, my biggest concern is that I lose a lot of ease of use regarding the podcasts and books I listen to....
I feel like social media is cancerous, but I’m definitely going to keep using my phone when I’m bored. RUclips, games, Reddit... it’s what I enjoy. One thing I need to get over, however, is always having the latest and greatest. And that is why I would downgrade. Not to discourage use, but to get used to not always having to have the best.

Dude, your videos are underrated and you should have definitely more subscribers. You actually deliver a message in general that many other youtubers do but you do it somehow in an other way, keep continue what you do.
I agree with the message for sure but I run my business through social media so all my sales come from Instagram and Facebook, thankfully I’m not constantly looking at what people are doing as much as answering messages for business
my SE limits my social media use because it's only 16gig so i only get to choose like 4 apps to begin with anyway and the rest require a newer OS. S1mple

I felt that need to..cause I had experiences on my iPhone 6s a lot and cracking its lcd screen was the worst..luckily it had some supply from Taiwan that could revo era back the lcd and that brings my momentum without ever buying for a new iPhones.
Yeah I move from a iPhone 12 to a iPhone 8 and downgraded my mobile plan from unlimited to a 1gb plan only really so the odd thing I need to check but also it has unlimited 2g after enough for iMessage and to top it off I move and my isp was not available at my new apartment and have not had home internet for 6 months like we have so much time it’s crazy how everyone says I don’t have time I’m like I have that in abundance haha

I was thinking about doing this. I already downgraded to the se 2020 but the amazing iOS apps are killing me. I play games all day, use iMessage/FaceTime, and watch RUclips. I need to downgrade further and evaluate myself and my own trauma. Im thinking about buying a pixel 4a because of the great camera, shit soc, lack of optimized games, and people are less likely to FaceTime me. Ill keep you guys posted!
To be honest I'm a hardcore minimalist. But I do believe the Samsung S10e from 2019 is much better deal imo. It has a SD855 processor, 8gb Ram, 256GB storage and 3100mah battery (that lasts all day) for 1/5 the price. Plus it has a headphone jack, microSD card slot, wireless and reverse wireless charging, fits in the hand, and samsung dex. I would highly recommend people to look at this option as well. Also you shouldn't have to charge your phone multiple times a day or have to bring a battery bank with you. Its impractical and doesn't make sense (this is where minimalism can be seen as backwards not forward) because the system you have created is running into inefficiencies. There is reason why we use light bulbs rather than candles. There is a reason why we use smartphones rather than feature phones like the Nokia 3310. This is not to shit on you as I understand you and been down your path. But with the s10e it lasts all day with no inefficiencies and is $200 on ebay. Hope this helps.
fortunately I'm not the type with an addictive personality and being an introvert means I don't care for social networks. I only average 30 minutes a day, half of that is checking who triggered my front yard camera and the other half is plants vs zombies 2. you could take the next step and ditch the smartphone all together ;) do the Apple watch challenge, you're only allowed an Apple watch and no smartphone. you'd need at least an Apple watch series 4 with cellular though since that's when Apple started to allow you to run free without a phone attached at all times.
Soo I couldn't really sell my xbox 360 but a guy wanted to swap it for a 5s I gladly did it knowing I can sell it for 40$ which is what I would've gotten for the xbox anyways Now I use a 300$ oppo(mid tier decent one) and my screen time is sky high I'll admit on some days it shot up to 8-9 hours(jeez I know) Now since I have this smaller phone in my hands I really wanted to try his it goes and then saw this video Now I'm a 100% sure of what to do Get from free money, extra time and a lot of inner peace being free from the toxicity of social media Even youtube tbh

Try Qin F21 pro. It runs Android in a form of dumb phone. Just got one today. It’s perfect. Wish it has full QWERTY keyboard.

Have an iPhone SE 1st edition and an iPhone 11 and I often prefer to carry with me the SE.
I’m thinking about selling the 11 and only keep the SE.
