So short explanation. Varus is a Darkin like Aatrox, they are something like demons and they are actually the weapons, once someone takes them they become the vessel for the demon and he takes over their bodies. So Varus has been locked up in this well in Ionia, so no one will free him from his prison. The action takes part during the Noxian Invasion and the 2 guys are lovers but unfortunately one of them is shot with arrows and dying. His partner drops him in the well because the well has magical powers. Varus uses this opportunity to escape, fusing himself with the 2 boys and now he is free but the consciousness of the lovers are with him, basically 3 personalities in 1 body.

The personality are at odds because Varus is leveraging the thrist for vengeance of the one for his lover being shot, while the lover is soothing the other guy to not let Varus take over. They’re at odds most of the time except when fighting noxians
They r not weapons, they r actually an ascended warriors like Nasus, Renecton, Azir, but Zoe tricked them and sealed in their weapons. Aatrox is fully free, Rhaast currently in Kayn's scythe and both of them r fighting for dominance in game - blue form if Kayn "wins", red form if Rhaast wins. Varus in the middle - he controls the body, but in his head 2 guys r talking to him. Sadly he did not received new voice lines after his lore update( P.s. sorry for my English, its not my native language 😅

The two guys are lovers that thought the well could save the injured one and accidentally awoke varus. Darkin need a body to posses in order to escape their weapon but most humans are too weak and end up getting destroyed by the possession so varus used both of them. But combined they were more powerful than he thought so there is a constant struggle inside the body of varus (which is kia's body) between all three of them via-ing for control.

If you noticed during the chorus of the song they layer the vocals over each other and make a mess of a sound. This isnt bad production this is intentional. The song was designed to represent how varus is formed and how chaotic the process is. Think about 3 souls fighting for control over one body, pretty chaotic right. Hence the layering of the audio and vocals (multiple voices trying to control the songs rhythm)

yes the varus, is a darkin, a demoted god who lived inside his weapon, the bow, this couple of ionia found where the spirit of varus and the bow resided hidden. and varus as he has no physical body and needs a carrier to be able to walk so to speak, he has both their bodies to walk in runeterrra again. so now they are three in one. but the varus and who controls both. he is one of the many darkins who had been imprisoned in their weapons in the past by the celestial zoe and the twilight aspect. in the old rune wars. there are the known ones in the lol game today we have the varus, aatrox, and the kain, they symbolize the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse, in the real stories of our world, soon we still need to launch another last darkin in the game.
