I lost my first real friend, first best friend, last best friend, my hero, was once my only friend, and it hurts..
I loved him more than anything.
He was everything to me...

He's my dog who passed away due to old age about 19 months ago...
I'm still sad about his death and pretending to be happy Infront of others...
I swore to never have another best friend as I didn't want to replace him so he's the first and only best friend I'll ever have...
I don't want to love anyone as much as I had loved him, i was able to tell him absolutely everything, and he knew absolutely everything about me even things I would never tell anyone, even secrets... He knew so much and I told him so much...
I told him my darkest secrets, all of my emotions, and even asked how his day was... I'd have full conversations with him sometimes...
Now all I have are memories...
I put up walls so I don't have to feel this kind of pain again..
I'm afraid to hear "I love you" because it is the last thing I told my dog before he passed away...
It hurts more hearing "I love you" than hearing "I hate you" so I'd rather hear that someone hates me instead...

The usually positive and extroverted James Ann Russomanno Da Sicilia had slipped into not so pleasant thoughts, regret and nostalgic grief upon his mind in seclusion. A tragedy brought forth by the selfless action of the one most dear to him, that he could never truly repay. He may not be the solitary sufferer, but it felt his pain burned so deeper and intensely.

She was plenty a motivation for him. Having someone to share himself with so much more deeply and intimately than only a friend. In a way, she offered him a loving guidance and support in thier shared interest of exploration and learning. He'd grown so used to thier supportiveness of one another. James could not help wondering, "What now ?"
🎵"I'm just searching for a trail to follow, again"🎵
He remembered that first time they met, a humble and kind hearted young woman that longed to see beyond her walled home of a kingdom, to adventure freely for some fulfillment instead of being a tavern worker for all of her existence. And a mentally weathered young man that had freedom, but at times wasn't sure or quite motivated to do anything interesting with it. A light hearted conversation about platonic statuses turning towards that of aspirations on her part, cutely not being able to contain herself on the topic, even if it was more that likely laughed about.
But, He did not laugh or offer any kind of doubts. Instead, he inquired more when she returned once or twice on a rest break. He felt a resemblance to his own ambition from this woman, though more fresh and energetic. As a result, his own aspiration of seeking out new sights and knowledge were given a hopeful refreshment. That bright smile and caring expression present even in thier times of only being acquaintances, He wished he could go back to that calm and tranquil time. To be able to just live out all those beautiful conversations, hugs, kisses, and happy years all over again... and not know how it will eventually come to an end..

He constantly had the question of what he should do now. His mind still in anguish. He felt no true interest in going anywhere in adventure, no interest in interacting with anyone. He was just....lifeless. Honestly, what is knowledge without someone to share and test it with?. What is adventure if there's nobody else to witness what is found?. Could his heart ever be the same it was before, compassionate and calm?.
🎵" And I can, ask myself. What the hell that I'm supposed to do.." 🎵
He truly felt that he could not live without his beloved... He'd rather join her than suffer all of this. But, one thing stopped him from ending it. Some of Her last words as he cradled her in his arms.
"Live on for me... don't let your dreams die, James.."
It was so very hard, but he could not stand to go against that final wish of who he valued so greatly.

He painfully revisualizes the sight of her slowly fading away and leaving in front of him. Her life, positive energy, beautiful form, and then her kind soul.... nothing left of her. Nothing to bury or hold close.
🎵" I had all and then most of you, some, and now none of you...."🎵
What he wouldn't give to be back to the time they were happy and together with time to spare. But he was unable to do so with his vast power, and it made him feel so weak. The most important thing to him was beyond his grasp no manner how much he tried. He could put on a weak facade at most, but it was on his mind constantly.

He could not help the nostalgic visions, remembering the times they had in so many places. Going out to restaurants, perusing libraries, sightseeing, and just spending sweet time together. He sometimes wakes up from bed and reaches out to touch her, only to feel nothing and open his eyes to confirm and remember that she was gone... He subconsciously expects her to come up behind him and wrap her calming arms around his neck, but it never happens. Sitting in a restaurant remembering seeing her on the other side of the table, cutely messing with her food when nobody was there. For a few seconds, it was nice to think of it until it's pushed down by the reality.

He wished he could take her out to more places when he had the chance. Places they skipped over for various reasons. He always feels he could have done more with her back then. She deserved everything.

Throughout thier adventures, the two had seen terrible things. Grotesque conflicts and just heart wrenching situations of life being lost or put through unbelievable suffering. He was more used to such things, but his beloved was not. At times she would weep for them and in fear of terrifying things they'd encountered. He never did hesitate to offer comfort however he could, holding her close to warmth, talking through it, or weeping with her at times, for he cared deeply for those individuals as well.
🎵" When the night was full of terror, and your eyes were filled with tears..."🎵
Sometimes, He felt he was A curse to Her. He had put her in so much danger in these journeys. His foolish naiveity being the cause of such beauty to perish. Before they had met, she likely would have found a way to explore domestically and plenty more safely, having a nice life on her own planet. It was him that introduced her to life beyond those spacial barriers. At times he wonders if it would have been better if they not have met. It felt selfish to put the good times they had over her own well being. That could have been a sacrifice he made to keep her alive and safe, even if it harmed him.

This had never been completely be off his mind, no matter the effort. And he's accepted that. He is reluctant to admit that one of his main driving forces is honoring her last wish of living on with his dreams. So now, he continues his adventures with a symbolic characteristic.
His naturally royal purple eyes now have a ring of her golden hazel eyes, letting her see through his eyes what they've found. He occasionally sits in his library looking at the many journals she'd written along with him, taking in her content and happy thoughts with him at her side, opening up these infinite possibilities, making Her dreams come true.

He could never go back to the night they met. Now after some years of reflection and emotional work with the support of closer friends, it was time to make good of the nights they could have had from now on. Preserve those memories in him and those that had the pleasure of knowing her. And even though she clearly couldn't hear him, he uttered the 3 words he had spoken to her countless times and her to him the same.

Funny thing is, I met him after I had resigned myself to stop searching for that someone. Everyone who is looking for someone to love and be loved by: they are out there for you, just focus on yourself and they will come into your life one day. I hope soon for everyone. ❤
This song fits on me. It's so hard to move on from the past, so hard to forget the pain that cause you and it's so hard to look at the positive side when all you can see is negative stuff. I hate the trust issue I have, I hate when I judge people easily because of my past. I hate how I let myself be swallowed by darkness. I hate myself for experiencing things I shouldn't have. I hate the girl I used to be.
