thank youuu, i really needed someone to talk about this! so this isn’t just me lol. anytime im in a place with strangers, it’s almost like i want someone to recognize me regardless of if they think im cool or weird, and i always told myself that im self-centered and shitty for that, but i guess it’s just another side effect of the world getting lonelier. with the lockdown and all, the only thing we knew for two years straight was ourselves, and we keep subconsciously telling ourselves to get used to our own company, so now everyone’s disassociated from each other because we keep projecting our egos on everyone around us. that’s what i think, at least, i hope it makes sense.
I notice and care about what other people do. Why should I assume others don’t? Why would I even want to believe that no one cares what I do. Why even do anything.
If I'm remembering correctly, Barry Manilow was big in the 1970s but his music was more soft pop/easy listening/adult contemporary. Kind of romantic but a bit cheesy. (I wasn't alive in the 1970s, I just know a lot about pop culture lol)
