Hey this video is great!! (I'm the gal in the pink & blue Colorado jersey w/ the pink sleeves.) we skated together for most of the race! You did great for recovering from a broken ankle! Great video, thank you so much for posting, that was an awesome day!
@tomvanharmelen The first 5 miles are rough. The black lines are tar snakes and a major hazard if you get your wheels into them. Crossing them at an angle is a non-issue but the ones that run parallel to your path can be a problem. They are generally flush and the stuff that fulls them is sort of spongy. If you make the right wheel choice it's an awesome event. I will do this again next year without a doubt.
@K2Sk8er71 Ah yes, I was going to see if I could cross reference your bib number and send you a message on facebook to let you know about this video. I'm going to try that with a few people who were around me for much of the race. I had a blast even though I was working very hard to keep my pace. I'm glad you were able to find this video so randomly.
@tomvanharmelen The graph at the top certainly makes it look like it's down hill most of the way bet it's generally pretty balanced with uphill segments too.

Great stuff! I'm on here the first 30 seconds or so. What was the technical setup that allowed this to come together?

@onskates56 It's a Contour Plus camera on my helmet. It has encoded GPS with the video. I used a program called Dashware to do the overlays.

I posted it on the NSIM's Facebook page. If you are on Facebook, feel free to add me as a friend, I love connecting with other skaters! - Christine
@lmrecorders Tom V. posted it on my Facebook page! He's my 'skating partner' who just happens to live on the other side of the world... :)
