OMG this guy is like the same guy as me. I wish i found this video earlier. I too have found that getting off alcohol, caffeine, sugar helped me immensely. But more importantly by yoga and meditation practice. I also did a 10 day vipassana retreat and found that it was the first time where i completely forgot about all uncomfortable symptoms. I felt way better for about 2 months after. I can vouch for everything he is saying!!

Thank you, all of you a part of this conference! I began to suffer from VS five months ago, and it's been a major stressor. I appreciate people getting together to figure this condition out.

I could cry, except for the tactile symptoms I have EXACTLY every visual and auditory symptoms. It’s so unknown that nobody could tell me what it is till now.

You know what? On the top of all these I lost my skin sensation(don't feel pinch cold or heat on skin) 😭
I was so broke that I felt I will die and so I tried to be hedonistic. Then today while I am still suffering from this, I still have some hope left in me. I will do anything to get back my life on track.

Perhaps you can imagine how much it means to me that I now know what the problem is. As a small child I often looked at the sky and wondered what was flowing there, I thought I saw some energy. I am now 46 years old, my eyes and head hurt a lot due to my work, because I am constantly sitting in front of a monitor. Two years ago, all the other symptoms started, and I was scared to death of what it could be, I didn't dare to tell anyone about it. I remember the day when all the symptoms started looking at the monitor and I had a panic attack because I was so scared. I live in Hungary, in Europe, and if there is a method that helps, I'm looking forward to it. Thank you for your work, and if you can send me some help, exercises, anything that I can use to help myself at home, I am very grateful.🥰

Hi there! Thanks for sharing your experience with VSS.
A new treatment came out in 2022 by Dr.Tsang and Dr.Shidlofsky. The study has been published, and you are more than welcome to book an appointment for VSS treatment at their clinics.
We have attached the link below: www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fneur.2022.999336/full. You are also welcome to check out our other doctors worldwide via our Doctor Directory on our website.
The aim is for the treatment protocol to be taught to medical professionals worldwide through Virtual Masterclasses. We have revealed the official dates aon our SM!
Additionally, we hope other medical & healthcare professionals become aware of the treatment option through the published study! You are also welcome to share the treatment protocol with your Doctor!
      We hope that helps.

I self diagnosed myself with this 10 years ago.. Mine stems from the css and was triggered after doing mdma... I went into full blown panic 24/7 for 6 months. The resources were limited but I did find a couple of these articles, never was it clustered up this well. This turned me agoraphobic. Luckily with lots of therapy I broke free, I was able to cope and live with these symptoms stress free for about 8 years. When my stress and anxiety increase, these definitely flare up.

Absolutely great presentation with a very true message, thanks very much for sharing this and bringing this message out there. VS started 7 years ago for me together with heavy brain fog/derealization and anxiety, it's was a heavy journey to getting rid of anxiety, but it was indeed possible for me as well to separate suffering and anxiety from the symptoms you have and live a good life. I love the mindset of seeing VS as the companion that reminds you to care about things that make your life better. That is definitely the case for me as well. I wish i would've seen this video 7 years ago, I'm sure it would've made things clearer and easier for me back then. Hope we are able to reach more people who suffer from it with such a message. Thanks

I have literally 100% of these symptoms, it is like 1:1 diagnosis. Additionally, i developed branch-like afterimages when light is shining at periphery of my vision (purkinje tree negative afterimage), which has become so obvious, and sometimes it even obstructs my vision significantly. Another symptom i have is shimmering of vision when watching certain repetitive patterns (pattern glare) and i can clearly see heart pulse in my left eye.

Matthew is the living proof that you can habituate even to full blown VS (unless maybe you get a very severe case). I'm 3 months and am currently freaking out about getting worse trailing. But then Matthew has positive afterimages, bluefield entopic phenomenon and floaters and grainy VS, all of which I lack, and he seems to be doing good. So that gives me a good outlook.
My personal opinion is that derealisation and depersonalisation are consequences of anxiety and depression, which you can handle with meditation and exercise.

Thanks Matthew Renze, your presentation is very unseful and informative. Could you please tell me what device and software you used to monitor your skin response and heart rate (neurofeedback)? Thanks very much.

I use the Wild Divine IoM Pro for biofeedback (which unfortunately has been discontinued) and the Muse for neurofeedback. Hope this info helps!

My optometrist had no idea what visual snow was. A neuropthamologist told me I was too sensitized and too worried. He told me to try meditation and a therapist. Awful experience with the medical system
