    Just as a side note, another great way to save money is a motto of "use it till it breaks" especially with electronics. A phone can last 5+ years without a major upgrade but people tend to buy every year cause it's just kind of expected. Hold off on that new TV, or that ridiculously overpriced graphics card and you'll really see your savings rack up. Smaller frivolous purchases are a killer for long term savings. As for my dream car? I think it'd have to be the Lotus Evora/Emira, I joke with my friends about the lotus fund but it is very real LOL.

      Great suggestions. You can keep yourself from spending on frivolous things by compartmentalizing your money when you get paid. "Pay yourself" first into an account you don't touch. Stick to it and leave the money in there until you have the amount you are saving for. This is a good idea even if you are not saving for anything specific. They are called "emergency savings" and can help you out of a bad situation should you need it.

    I guess you can classify me as someone who just recently attained their dream car, a 2022 GR Supra 3.0 Premium. I'm 37 years old, been working since I was 15 1/2. This video is great, especially about the part of not settling. Big emphasis on that, because I did that too many times and "settled" for lesser cars just to get by, but was never truly satisfied. So after years of hard work, and seeing the 2020 Supra revealed (back in 2019) I was fixated and determined that would be my next car. I actually could afford maybe up to a $120K car but really gravitated to the Supra no matter what other cars I looked at. So 3 weeks ago I found this Supra, and bought it cash. I still pinch myself looking at it in the garage and can't believe I actually own one. (And don't worry you arm chair internet financial analysts don't need to sh*t on me for buying cash and investing since I have tons of investments already.) Anyway this ended up being way too long of a post, but anybody reading please keep working smarter and don't stray too far from your dream, as it can be a reality as long as you put in the work.

    The tip of "being realistic" is something I learned when I was in college. When I was younger (13), the dream car was a 1992-1999 Nissan GT-R. Then the car got hyped as I was growing up, now the prices to buy and maintain them are ridiculous. So at the age of 21, dream car then became an Evo, then those got really expensive. The funny thing is I bought my first 90's Honda civic around that time, and the car really grew on me. Now the dream car is An RSX type-S (trying to get a decent one before those get stupid expensive too). I just find it funny that the older I got, the less I wanted the more "hyped-up" cars. I guess I'd realized that I just wanted something that I could have fun with, that's reliable and wouldn't cost me an arm/leg to fix if something breaks.

    • @soapa4279
      @soapa4279 2 года назад +3

    So many people saved up for their dream cars only to have the pandemic happen and the sports car market inflated to the point they need almost double what they thought. I definitely agree with getting a fun affordable car until you can get your dream car. My dream car is a 1970 Dodge Charger, if you couldn't tell by my profile pic, but as a graduate student I can't afford $50k for one, but you know what I can afford, a 1966 AMC Marlin that I just picked up on February! It is a very cool car that I got for a little under $4k and it has taught me a lot about working on older cars! And I bought it in running and driving condition btw 😁

    •Definitely look at cars that are dated 5-7 years old in order to take advantage of depreciation especially for luxury cars.
    •Payment isn’t all that matters for car loans, anything beyond a 4 year car loan greatly increases the amount of interest you’ll pay on the loan overall.
    •Buy/sell private party if possible.
    •In regards to a car in the meantime, purchase a beater that is nearly at the end of its lifecycle for a few thousand while saving up for your dream car. You can save on insurance if you buy the car outright by carrying only liability. It’s also unlikely that it will depreciate much beyond its initial purchase price if it’s old enough.

There are too many videos here on youtube that will show you how to do things correctly for you to be worried about messing it up. Also what im currently doing is buying cheap cars, modding them, then selling them for a higher price. Then use some of the profits to buy a more expensive car, mod it, sell it, then repeat the process until I get my dream car. This will also teach you how to work on several different types of platforms and help introduce you to so many communities

    Only took me about 6 months to get my dream car, VN in blue. As soon as I saw it I wanted it. Wanted a focus rs but something was missing, it was the feeling that I can't modify it that much before it is a hassle to drive, also seating position belive it or not. And weight 3,450 lb compared to 2,996 (north America vn with lighter tires and battery) ya awd is fun but the vn just felt right.

    If you’re going to save money and want faster results. Invest into a Roth IRA that’s putting money away that’s already taxed and you’ll gain 7% interest or more per year. Then cash out when you’re ready

    I just want a 1992 corolla ae92 gti with a redtop 4A GE in it. this thing seems kinda cheap for people who have an average monthly salary, the price is around $2800 - $3000 or 40ish million rupiah for now. but with just $140 in my bank and 7 dollars per month wages for helping my mom food business, i think that's a bit hard to obtain. maybe I can buy it after i graduate and have a job. but at that time i have the money to pay for, the price of the car is gonna skyrocketed. cuz that thing had a good engine and performance, and people know it. i'm sure the price will go up little by little by the time i collecting the money.
