Surely, one of the greatest EVER Glastonbury performances? He was completely and utterly on fire. His guitar playing, the sheer SOUL of the performance, the chemistry in his truly incredible band (with Steve White on drums and Yolanda Charles on bass)... Steve Cradock (Ocean Colour Scene) on guitar. Just amazing. I would have given my right arm to be at this gig now.
I’ve watched this clip loads over the years … blows me away every time I watch it .. Paul at his best by a country mile - line up was mustard ! Never beaten .. ✌️✌️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I grew up with the Jam, Style Council, Paul Weller solo. The soundtrack of my life. The guy is 66. Hard to believe. The time will come when he no longer writes new music. I dread that day. When the time comes it would be incredible if Paul, Bruce, Rick got together and done a farewell gig. Play all the Jam classics, but I don't think there is anywhere big enough to hold it.
I was there and its the greatest concert i have ever been to in many ways- caitlin moran from the sunday times snapped a pic of me at this concert and i ended up on the cover...great days
Wot a gig band were on fire. But to think wellers world was upside down with Dee c lee kicking him out the day of the gig and weller still perform seen weller of 40times they say dont meet your hero's but he was a top man had time to chat and have photos with keep the fire burning 👊
Pinnacle performance! I've seen PW plenty of times over the years but the 'Live Wood' tour band was just the best. Yolanda Charles and Steve White totally locking in together and Helen Turner and Steve Craddock meshing perfectly and then what can you say about The Guvnor - awesome!!! I think Glasto '94 was probably their best show ever, but they were playing this well every night! I don't think PW ever had a better line-up.
The best Glastonbury I ever went to - Weller, debut Oasis appearance, Orbital on the NME stage, Beastie Boys on the Friday night "Don't worry about the rain, it keeps everything green" and Rage against the Machine. Plus The Boo Radleys doing an epic version of Lazarus✊
How great was live music before backing tapes and crap manufactured music, compare this to 2024 Glastonbury and you can see how bad a state the music scene is in. Weller and co. Smashed it here I'm so glad I was in my 20's during the 90's best of times.
He had just broken up with his wife DC Lee just a few hours before i was there near the front on the right ,, as i remember after he finished sum one got shot .......
You need a valve amp and something like the Marshall Bluesbreaker or The Guvnor pedal for some drive. Or crank the valve amp up until it starts to break up

Don't forget Helen Turner on keyboards too.
Was good. Not the best ever Glasto performance by any artist unless you're a total mega fan of Weller.

Paul weller rocks out every time… love it🔥
Well done Steve White for being so level headed/keeping the tempo. I was at this front row, and then got lifted out by bouncers reluctantly!
Soulful and movingly beautiful. 🕊🙏🦋🥰
Not his audience but he had them in the palm of his hands what a band they were just incredible

Weller is a rare talent. White and Charles are a formidable rhythm section.
This is perfection. Thanks.
Saw all the bands off this time live and Mr Weller and Supergrass were head and shoulders above the rest

This is my ideal guitar sound. Aside from being very talented, does anyone know how he gets this sound?
Weller here uses
Gibson Sg
Marshall lead and bass turned up loud as fuck
that’s pretty much it
