Man, i was surprised by the shimmer! There's an edge to it that i normally loathe on cheaper/boss shimmers, but i really like the vibe on this one! Would totally add this to smaller, simple board! Also, that is some incredible EBow technique!
I agree. I have tested this pedal for a month now and the shimmer is definitely not great. Otherwise, the delay/reverb combo sounds very good. As you say, I have this on a smaller setup that I use for acoustic guitar.
Thank you, Bill, for such a great review and demo. Based largely on your review, I purchased one! I returned to your demo to hear again how to use the tap tempo and time knob to get the dotted 8th delay. I'm sure you could make anything sound good. I was looking for a 2-in-1 delay/reverb to add to my meager pedalboard. I intend to run my existing analog delay in front of the Atlantic to begin my ambient journey! You are inspirational, sir!
Such a great sounding Delay and Verb for the price! I think companies like NU-X and others are really going to make a dent in the market for affordable and quality equipment. Thanks for the demo Bill!
This is fantastic! Just came across your videos when searching for inexpensive delay pedals. Really enjoyed your playing and the demonstration of the various settings. Big thumbs up!

Clear explanations, great demonstrations, passion and enjoyment in what you do- great job, and thanks for your reply also :D
Hi, when you're playing gigs, when you're a pro, where do you need to go to hear the real possibilities of a pedal, with no blablabla and a very good realistic sound ? On this Channel. Thanks Mr Vincel ! You're a real positive sensitive musician.
Hi, You 're very welcome and, i love that too ♥ Robert is crazy enough fotr me :! Love how Belew talks about the guitar ruclips.net/video/lnGD8RI0kGQ/видео.html
Thanks for sharing. I found a few videos about the Nux and it seems that it does a lot of what the fancier pedals do, but is more affordable. I am getting used to your reviews. I can trust that you play at a high quality level and can compare how the pedals are helping you.
The 60s and 70s tape esq delay, reminded me of John Martyn, then some of the parts done with 80s digital delay, felt like Michael Hedges. That's one cool pedal! My only complaint is I didn't hear a reverse delay, which is my favorite goto for psychedelic or ambient guitar.
i only like a whisper of delay and reverb, this pedal fit the bill without breaking the bank. compact easy to use and the shimmer is just too much fun for swells and ambience
I noticed that you were bring in the Shimmer effect on/off what happens if you just keep holding it down, does it get to much ?, also great vid, i think its a great option to save some real estate
Hey Man Awesome video and playing as usual :D I have to say this is an amazing pedal and really affordable.... i like that you can use the shimmer like this :D thanx for this video :D
Many thanks for this video. Could you please explain the setup? I can see you are using the Atlantic in Stereo Mode (I see the two jacks on the left). Thanks
Hello, I have a Nux Cerberus, and it seems that the builtin Delay/Reverb section is the same as in this pedal(all knobs are the same) The Cerberus has a built-in anologic distortion and overdrive and can manage presets , that is a very cool.
I bought this pedal. I have small pedal board and this takes up less space than two pedals. Plus it a very good pedal for the price. I am tempted to get a Mooer Echoverb as that takes up even less space but I don't know how it sounds in comparison.
Just got this pedal and I was so excited for it, but I can’t get any sound when I connect it through the effects loop on my amp. I have the patch cable going from my eq pedal into the input jack and a cable going from the mono jack to the return jack of my amp. Do I need a Y cable for it to work??
@wildebest I mean for this case in particular, it ain't just china emulating the reverb. Every mainstream pedal company, or even niche boutique ones are copying the Big Sky
Bill I just got this today but noticed it doesn’t have a dotted 8th setting under the sub divisions option. How can I set dotted 8th with this unit? Sound wise I really like it. Putting it on a smaller board so when I don’t feel like carrying the big board around I can use the small board.
I purchased one a few years ago and sent it back because I did not like it. But I get that it is a very popular pedal and seems to work well for a variety of folks.
I'm planning to buy reverb and delay pedals or both in one & It would be amazing if you can tell me how do you feel the effects quality in this pedal compared to the tc electronic & up to the strymon.. This price range I mean.. ☺️
Orderd this after the Demo I know when i see quality. It was really hard to find and i finally got it from a store called muziker based in Czech Republic
Anyone know how much miliamperes does it take? I cannot find that in specification and in manual it only says that there is a optional power nux adapter that has 500mA but the pedal can take 200-300mA, who knows.. i have a cioks Schizophrenic power adapter with 6 separate outputs and some of them have 300mA. I was wondering if it can power this Nux Atlantic.
There are some similarities, but the EQD does not have the 3 reverbs + 3 delays combination that the Atlantic has. On the other hand, it has super flexible expression pedal options, and a very interesting palette of sounds.
Got this pedal after watching your video. It really is pretty cool! I wonder, is it possible to control the shimmer effect with an external tap tempo pedal?
It all depends on what you are looking to accomplish. I always try to keep my sonic goals in mind, and then buy the pedals that will allow me to achieve them.
Specs say stereo input but only getting a mono signal when passing some stereo pedal through via TRS Y cable? I was expecting it to behave like the Strymon single stereo inputs. Did anyone notice this?
Hey Chords of Orion! I was wondering how you record your guitar knowing what you play at the same time. I'm sure you already made videos about this, but I couldn't find them...Thank you!

Well, they are 2 different type of pedals. If you are looking for a mono delay with several types of delays and a built-in looper, then the Canyon is worth consideration. If you are looking for a stereo pedal that combines delay and reverb, then consider the Atlantic.
@@chordsoforion Hi ! Thanks for the quick answer :) I'm considering diving a bit into ambient guitar, so i need something with good reverbs. I buy this pedal yesterday because i see this pedal demo on RUclips, and how the people comment worship this pedal sound, but.., when i buy it, im really dissapoint.., why nobody tell the truth about this pedal sucking so much tone, sound really drop if using this pedal, now i get hard time to sell it, in my country, we cant return the thing we buy, so hard to collect the money for buying this pedal now it been useless, sory if my english is not good.., i just hope there no one like me who buy this pedal and get regret to buy it, GOD Bless..

It should work with a y-stereo/trs splitter, no? Size appears to be the issue. Compromises are always made. I’m a synth guy, and don’t have a problem with only one input, I mostly record in mono anyway, unless hitting stereo FX pre-convertor. This is a damn fine pedal, but the Mooer Ocean Machine is only a bit more and is completely loaded, although not very small for a portable live rig, which you guys probably want. I’d like it if you could put the delay after the reverb should you choose, to make some really large spaces. In the end, its just algorithms. The Strymons are well made, but its all just code, one’s and zero’s.
From reading the manual it seems that the delay level knob is the volume of the repeats (meaning it won't go full wet) and that the reverb level knob is a wet/dry blend (meaning that it will) -- can anyone confirm? Also -- max reverb time? Just wondering how big this thing gets...
I love your reviews, they are very insightful and the playing is something I might actually do irl situation, even tho I get some gay vibes from you :D
What a pointless way to demonstrate a delay. It is impossible to judge the sound when the notes continue to repeat on top of each other. Fortunately, it is possible to sense the reverb sound through the sound wall.
These guys have massively upped their game. I would happily gig professionally with this unit.
Perfect for acoustic guitarists too

Hi Bill. Did you have a chance to compare the series vs parallel modes? Thanks
Yes, I have played around with it some. And it behaves just how you would imagine - reverb and delay running next to each other without interacting.

I would say that they are both comparable with each other. Depends on if you want a delay/reverb combination or dual delays.
@@chordsoforion thanks. More power to ur channel. Stay healthy ✌🏽
How does the NuX compare to Avalanche Run? It is half the price.
Does it have a self oscillating setting?
Yes. If you set it to the 60s or 70s delay type and crank the repeats/feedback all the way, it will self-oscillate.
Does it alter the guitar signal in bypass?
I checked the manual and it does not say anything about true bypass, so I would guess that it is a buffered bypass circuit. That being said, I am not noticing any tonal change with my setup.
