Well Covid has given me the time to put together my first pedalboard so this is timely. I have been watching a lot of pedalboard vids for ideas.
Hey! Samesies! What do you got so far?
So far I got a Crybaby, Harmonic Booster (Spaceman), OCD (Fulltone), Polyphonic Tuner (TC Electronics), Some weird Washburn Distortion some kid left at my parents house 15 years ago that I recently found in the basement and a Digitech JamMan Solo. I have an old POD XT as well that I have been using to try to better understand different modulation, reverb, delay and other effects so I can make a more informed purchase when I pull the trigger on them.
I really like the EXH POG2. I think that'll be my next pedal.
I know compressors are all very samey, but I'm having a hard time picking one.
A few things I've learned, or tips I could share.
Never again with a rubber bottom pedal. Also that 3M dual lock seems to be better for a board that's done and won't be fiddled with but very slightly. Way too grippy. Regular velcro is much better for figuring out what pedals you'll like. Swapping is easy and it doesn't feel like a big deal if you mess some of the $5 for 20 feet velcro vs, messing up the stickiness of the $30 for ten feet of Dual Lock.
Yup. There are these guys called the gear cage on youtube that do great pedal rundown vids and they got a huge pedal giveaway coming up..check em out!
@@everennui1 check out the dyna comp by mxr, great compression pedals for like 50 used or 80 new
Same with me! Love my set up couldn’t ask for a better covid pedalboard
@@everennui1 at lest there’s a wah on it
For maximum authenticity do you wear shorts when you shoot your shorts?
If so, can you do a shorts video on shorts that you own. #toneshorts
pretty minimalist brethren. Dirt and delay, all anyman needs.
No, no ,no. The drum/ guitar looper is essential
What about wah?
Forget choosing between amps! Run an extra patch cable between the Tera Echo and the delay and then stereo out of that delay to _BOTH_ amps! The delay and Tera Echo will sound glorious in stereo!
The Sweet Baby is an awesome pedal man. Had mine on the board for years. For a while I kept trying to replace it with something fancier but it always ended up beating out the new pedal and back on the board!
I’ve started using Joyo pedals they are good for the money , especially the joyo American sound .
You could gig a whole board of joyo pedals, and you'd be doing just fine. Your wallet would be happy, too. 😊
Love the Tera Echo. I’d love to hear you using it in this setup. Cool board, good sir.
Hope you have many hours of fun with your rig!👍
You know what is video was missing? Sarcasm! It was missing sarcasm.......
ok it's a pedal bored. 😝
@@landonbailey so the cables would be the bored of directors?
I thought it was missing overdrives
Boss tuner/muting pedal is a necessity, especially live!
PASS! Rubber bottom makes sticking it to your pedalboard a pain in the incus. And when the velcro or dual lock comes off the pedal. which it will. it's going to be a disgusting goopy mess. ANY tuner... with a metal bottom is a necessity. I can personally recommend a Polytune 3 from TC Electronics. It's around the same price (a little cheaper) than the BOSS. ...and it has a polyphonic tuner which is SUPER quick to tune your guitar.
@@everennui1 Thanks for the info! I play at home now so I'm not worried about that stuff. As long as I have a Tuner pedal.
@@everennui1I saw a video of a guy just unscrewing and flipping the rubber bottom cover and then applying the Velcro.
You should talk about the actual board. I’ve not seen that one before. Looks like you don’t need Velcro for it. I hate when I forgetfully put my velcroed pedals on the carpet...
I've done a couple videos with it. search for guitto or Pedalboard in my videos
Sweet pedalboard, brother!!! Can never go wrong with Boss pedals or with a tube screamer!!!
All new to pedals and considering my first ever pedal board. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Landon, I've been wondering what pedals you use. I've heard you mention the Joyo before but not a lot of others. Cheers.
Solid yes on the TE2. That's a mainstay on my board too.
Nice to see Tera echo getting it's love.. I also have that as well! Cool rig man
Very cool
Nice to see the tera echo get some love! Hardly see it on any boards but it's such a cool sound
That’s a really nice rig, Landon. 😊👍
Really like that amp selector pedal!
Great setup. Last few years I've been happy with my Line6 pod hd500x.
Everything Line6 I've ever had (2 or 3 DL-4's and a couple M9 Stombox modelers) has broken. But they do sound pretty cool before that!
Thank God for rack mount units with all the Bells and whistles and process sound you can have
awesome, thinking about getting the boss super overdrive as well
Quick and dirty, I like that. Sometimes my right foot is on my pedalboard, too.
I use a BCB6 Boss Case with a Boss tuner...power supply...compressor...DS1 distortion...GE7 eq...Digital Dimension Pedal (fancy chorus)...Digital Delay/Sampler...then into my Fender amp and my reverb is from the Fender as well as added gain if I need it..everything is Boss and I've had this rig since 1986...never let me down...I also have a wah wah pedal I put in front of the effects if the gig calls for it..it's an old DiArmond Thunderbolt wah from the early 70s with a built in fuzz switch that sounds like a big muff...
I never really used a lot of pedals. My most used were Ibanez TS9DX Turbo Tube Screamer , Tone City King of The Blues, and a Danelectro Fish & Chips 7 band EQ. But since I got my Positive Grid Spark amp, I rarely use them anymore.
Nice setup, what pedalboard is that? Looks great
Nice vid Lan Man. The Terra Echo has nice tones.
When those go out of production, people will be fighting for them on eBay.
@@AnodyneHipsterInfluencer I agree!
I just subscibed. Never heard of u before but content looks cool
I love mini tubescreamer
Nicely organised Landon. I don't have any of mine on a board. What I really need is a decent power supply like your Voodoo Labs 👌
I only have 1 modified dirt pedal that has symmetric soft clipping and asymmetric hard clipping. I got rid of my TS-9, crybaby wah, and metal zone.
My personal pedalboard: Jim Dunlop Cry Baby Wah Pedal -> Electro Harmonix Screaming Bird Treble Booster -> Caline Puresky Overdrive -> Boss DS-1 Distortion -> Behringer UC 200 Ultra Chorus -> MXR Phase 90 -> Behringer VD 400 Vintage Delay -> Behringer DR 600 Digital Reverb -> TC Electronic Iron Curtain Noise Gate -> Electro Harmonix Performance Volume Pedal -> Boss Katana 50 MKII Amplifier
Very cool, I'm honestly surprised at your choice for pedals. Cool stuff!
None, nada, zip, zero, not a one.
That raises the question: What should be the first pedal to get?
I agree.... what is a good first pedal? Maybe this is a video idea??
Go for the Joyo Sweet Baby, at only 40 bucks its a steal. I own lots of expensive "boutique" pedals and yet I keep coming back to that overdrive in every track I record. It responds well to dynamics and works well as a clean boost if you're running to a tube amp.
First pedal is a tube screamer by default, no? Because if you have a strat and you want to play blues, you need one. If you play heavy rock or metal, you need a tube screamer into a gainy amp.
Overdrive
Your first pedal should be a quality tuner. Then I'd recommend an eq pedal, as most amps have overdrive, but find out what fx your idols use for the songs you like/play.
+100 points for using the Boss SD... it's a criminally overlooked pedal.
That’s cool, didn’t know what gear the rhythm guitar player of GWAR played
Love it. Very simple. Looks like a fun setup.
Nice setup! (And Tele’s are the coolest).
Gidday Landon, what board are you using. The mounting brackets look awesome. Cheers from NZ
it's this one ruclips.net/video/iCb0sS-ykak/видео.html
You should check out the Boss GX100. I absolutely love mine. I don't think i will ever not have a Terra-Echo in my rig.
I’d like to
Thanks for sharing. I'm getting ready to put mine together so I'm collecting all the info i can.
That's a great setup..i have a joyo vintage OD and they sound surprisingly good for a cheaper brand
I have that same pedal that joyo sweet baby. Love you it, it cut that low end out and your guitar 🎸 solos cuts through the mix. I put the joyo right after the JB2. That pedal is awesome too. It's a blues breaker and an angry Charlie in one pedal. You should try out the SY200
I really like this, not too extreme, not too basic
Love the cat in the hat socks.
We're still waiting for a deep-dive review of those fancy striped socks.
I haven’t heard of that Tera Echo before. Do you plan on doing any pedal demos on your channel?
I have no plans to demo pedals. I did demo the Tera Echo a few years back. This may have been my last pedal demo video. ruclips.net/video/SEO9Tdors_A/видео.html
Thanks Landon, you activated my idea organ.
Any time!
I love that super overdrive
same!
My pedalboard - Headrush
What are the connectors that are holding your pedals in place onto the board?
Nice setup. I'm running a wah, acoustic simulator, compressor, metal zone, ds-1 distortion, bluesdriver, phaser, tremelo, delay, looper, and killswitch.
Hi saw this sick pedalboard! 🔥 do you stack your overdrives? (Ts9 and sd1)?
No
Nice! Do you stack your drives or use them individually depending on the tone you're going for? Cheers!
I do sometimes. Depends on the guitar
Mans just a MetalZone and an EQ pedal
Tuner > joyo overdrive zip > tech21 Sansamp gt2 > boss ds1 > ehmx big muff > ehmx small clone > rowin time maker digital delay > noise gate > amplifier.
Have you settled on the DD-7 or has it always just done what you want/need? I'm clueless on how to get the Delay I want with a pedal, which DD series would you give the nod to? Thanks and Stay safe.
I owned and loved the dd6 for years but sold it. regretted it and bought the dd7. one option I miss is called Warp. I think it's on the dd8
That Sweet Baby Overdrive is no joke, amazing bang for buck. I have one as well and it’s not going anywhere anytime soon
it’s great!
I've been really wanting to pull the trigger on that one as well as another from joyo! This was a legitimate help. Can't jump on those 200.00 dollar overdrive pedals anymore, thanks landon
Hey Landon what do you think is better the setup you got or a Rack system with all that or a boss multi effect board petal that has everything to but you have to sit down and make all the effects for each song close as possible and then save them and it's a bitch
save them
I wouldn't go as far as a rack mount system, but if you want affordability, get something like a NuX mg300 or mg30 for a couple of hundred or less. They have all the fx you'll want, and if you want to buy individual pedals, you'll know which ones you use most often. There's lots of affordable multi effects units but rack mount units are more expensive and generally for the pros. It all depends on your budget and desire.
Is there a reason to have delay in the end rather than in front?
Time based effects work better at the end of the chain, or in the effects loop, but there's no set "right way". Whatever sounds good, is good.
I appreciate a fellow Johnny Greenwood fan, rock on man
Do you use overdrives as a standalone dirtbox on clean amp or to boost?
Is it simple to use the boss line selector as an amp switcher?
yes as a combo amp switcher.
Nice fender red knob twin!??Stock speakers?
Fender Deluxe 85, all stock
Sweet . Thank you for your video
OMG TERA ECHO thats a rare wonderful sight
This is nice set up 😃🤘😈🍻
I have the power from dinner, wah, mxr overdrive pedal GTOD, Emma Electronics Reezafritz, Electro Harmonix The Worm, and Finally Boss Chromatic Tuner. And also outside of my pedalboard I have a electro harmonix 22500 loop station
I'll have my favorite MetalZone...!!!!
Hey can you select both amps at the same time?
Input to Digitech Whammy 4 , Digitech fs3x for Whammy control ,
Cry Baby From Hell Wah ,Mooer ge 200 to Peavey Renown 400 Amp
Where can I find your video you plays guitar lick's😊
The terra echo is neither a reverb nor a delay, according to the marketing material.
Question:
When you run so many pedals sequenced together, does the purity ot each individual tone suffer from a kind of diffusion or lack of individual clarity?
Are there any noise suppressors
No tremolo!? Tremolo changes life.
I have it on my amps :)
@@landonbailey ohhhh man you are set then ✌️☕🎸
If you ever want more boss delay. I love the DD200 its about the same size as the 2 smaller pedals and includes most of those sounds
Man. Me too!
Line Selector.....................Interesting?!?!?!?!?
You should be running that dd7 in stereo with those two amps!
Very simple. Very noice.
nice, I have the same loop pedal.🤙
Cool!
Mine's easy, but then I'm a bass player. Just a Boss GT6B. Anything else is too complicated for me :-) If you mean guitar, then again I just use it's twin, the Boss GT6 - both bought 2nd hand for about £60.
does the ts mini sound exactly the same as a full size
TS
Never put your shorts on your pedal board.
And both amps cool too
What kind of patch cables?
Ts 9, noise suppressor, tuner and mesa boogie triple rectifier that's it!! Hehehe
Was that a red knob fender amp i saw? Did you already video about it? Please show more about it.
lots of videos about it. Fender Deluxe 85
I have two of those Digital delays, one made by Boss one by Roland both exactly the same
boss sd-1 rules!!
Isn't that Boss tuner also a power supply?
Great but why A B the amps in mono when you can go stereo?
How do you mount ur pedals?
Dude. I have the same socks.
same!
Which amps are you using?
ruclips.net/video/Q95dhBeaZ4o/видео.html
The sweet baby is probably my favorite
I’ll go through the comments, but looks like a Red Knob fender? And Another similar amp?
Very, very, cool. I love my BOSS SD-1. It goes everywhere I jam. My Dunlop crybaby too. 🎸❤☺👍
what are you using to attach the pedals to the board?
ruclips.net/video/iCb0sS-ykak/видео.html
No noise gate?
