But also, this is not how tetris works, this cannot happen neither in modern nor old tetris (for different reasons). Also the gameplay is more fighting game than block towering.

Every piece given to the player can be reasonably be used to clear the blocks on the field with only a bit of patience and ingenuity, but the angels reflect the anxiety of a lot of players where they won’t see that answer right away until it’s too late, reflexivity blaming the game (their god), and then the frustration mounts when the game only gives you the pieces you thought you needed moments before. The game is neither cruel, nor angry. It simply wishes not to change its instruction. And I love that this skit captures that.
When he says "line piece" and then his angel just looks up in utter resigned disgust and delivers "...no no no no..." I remember that perfect reaction every time anything bad happens in my life, and it genuinely helps a lot. Just that expression of total contempt for the entire universe, for delivering the worst possible outcome at the worst moment. :D

He might be playing a bad knockoff version of Tetris, where the next piece doesn't appear at all.
I guess that raises the question of whether Tetrimedes has to be the god for ALL of the Tetris knockoffs ever made. Considering the popularity of Tetris, that would be a majorly daunting task.

Ephraim225 In the original Tetris game you could choose weather or not you wanted to see your next piece. You got less points by having this turned on but also the levels were somewhat harder (or perhaps that was just bad luck back in the day).
