The lenses are also great adapted on the Fuji X-PRO 3. Loved using my Mamiya 80 mm on my previously owned X-PRO 3. Crazy looking adaptor for it, but worked amazingly.

I was wandering GFX or FF camera. At the end, when I looked to the size and weight of the combo body / lenses, I came back to a Leica M camera : M + 50 F/1.4 = the weight of GFX body alone.
A camera has to be light for me. Otherwise it stays on a shelf. And the best gear doesn't make good pictures on a shelf.

Totally fair and completely agree, a camera that stays on the shelf is the worst kind of camera. In another video I mention how I think I just prefer a bigger camera, but of course to each their own!

    Which adapter did you use?

Hey @joshshanksphoto just wondering how you like the Mamiya 80mm compared to the Mitakon? I like my Mamiya (altough the MF focus is annoying as you say), but I do wonder about the green color cast on my Mamiya and was considering getting the Mitakon instead.

@@christianklintholm I preferred the Mamiya, for me the 65mm was too close to the 45mm I have to have the 65 and 45, but the 45 and 80 are different enough for me to justify having both. But that's just me, I do miss having a wider focal length like the 65 at times!

@@joshshanksphoto I started out with the Fuji 63mm, switched it out for the 50mm pancake and then got the 80mm 1.9 as well. I do miss the 63, but it was too tight for shooting indoor, so wouldn't work as an all around lens for me. The 50mm does that, but it doesn't have character like the 80mm does.
      Anyways... enough gear talk :)

I think you're trying to say that you're tired of "The gear being used is casting an attention shadow over the images". Or something like that.... People are so focused on gear ahead of actually enjoying photography.

well put. This is the plague of yt (and other social media?): "I got this dope camera to take pointless photos of absolutely nothing".

Can You show a picture how big the lens is on the body?

I thought I commented already but now I don't see it anymore, but on my first video with this lens I showed the lens on the body on my desk for scale

OK price is OK about 500 USD - Mamiya 80mm f/1.9, but - no AF, no image stabilization - i like buy lens, that don't exist in GFX, an GFX have native and great 80/1.7 - that work perfect ...

    • @joshshanksphoto

Yeah, the GF 80mm f/1.7 also retails at 2200 USD for context

I dont think you should expect IS with prime with this sort of focal length. I have used 85mm f/14 Sigma that with Fringer adapter come with auto focus. But if you are buying cameras like GFX I dont think you should mine about manual focus.
