    Hey Austin i have a question about the netgear a6210 adapter mediatek driver, i followed your guide but at 3:24 in your video "How to install netgear a6210 Drivers on win10" i can only find 2 driver files and not 3 like on your screen

      just click on the one that is newest. there should be a date next to it. any of those drivers will work better than netgears so even if you dont choose mine it should work out fine

    Can't get it working in fullscreen. And the effects of the scaling algorithms disappear once I drag the MPC-HC from my primary display (an Asus ROG PG279Q 1440p @ 144Hz) to my secondary (a Samsung 4k TV @ 60Hz in extended display).

      this does not make sense? this must be a graphics driver issue. i am using nvidia for my graphics device using these settings an have never had an issue. i remember before when using nnc the mpc would crash because of the graphics drivers but not this. i use both a 144 benq and a 4k lg tv and im not getting these problems. same setup really. sorry to here that.

    • @p1st0ls44
      @p1st0ls44  7 лет назад

      yes go to output and enable madvr. also make sure its installed. you should see a difference. if you are not then something went wrong on your end. im making a new video soon on the updates to madvr. there have been many since this video

    • @p1st0ls44
      @p1st0ls44  7 лет назад

      "im making a new video soon on the updates to madvr. there have been many since this video" if youve got the new version try this. go to artifact removal in madvr and check reduce compression artifacts, strength 6, quality medium, and run as part of ngu. this will get rid of all the artifacts that are made during compression. its an interesting thing to mess around with. if you are not seeing results then something is wrong, or you are watching raw footage that is at a tremendus bitrate and differences can only be miminal. i hope this helps out.

      @p1st0ls44  7 лет назад +1

      i am using the lg uh5500 tv to veiw hdr content. only done it one time and it worked well enough. you want to pass hdr content to the display and not have the program do the work ever.

    • @vishnuanil9044
      @vishnuanil9044 7 лет назад

      austinsguitar You said you have a digital monitor and not a tv but the option you chose is same for both. Mine is Asus PG279Q G-Sync 165Hz OC, what setting you think is the best to push pixels at most for madVR.
      Thanks.

    • @p1st0ls44
      @p1st0ls44  7 лет назад +1

      oh i see. okay so if the display is not an hdr display use convert hdr content to sdr using shader math. this throws all the image processing to the gpu i believe. and it converts the hdr video to something visually pleasing on a standard display like what we both use as monitors. there are a few options you may want to look at here and they all come out to be what looks best for your monitor. try out a few things in this tab. remember, hdr content is different than regular videos. these settings wont do anything unless your looking at hdr video. if not its litterally not doing anything.

    very nice vid! i always love to play with madvr settings and mpc-hc ! i have one question tho, if you watch everything on a 4K TV ( even when you watch 1080 movies on it ) would you still use Bicubic 60 AR and Bicupic 75? because i watch 4K movies and 1080P's as well... i first thought that Jinc would do the trick for Chroma and image downscaling and i used NNEDI3 for image upscaling but certainly going to use the NGU Anti-Alias now cuz i see some sweet difference. :) so thank you very much for this vid, awesome work! and ofcourse i'm curious what you would do with the settings for Bicupic, stay with Jinc or use that one?

    • @p1st0ls44
      @p1st0ls44  7 лет назад

      jinc looks better but that is only for downsampling video that is larger than your display. i like that video to be softer on a lower res display. i use a 4k tv to watch shows that are 1080p and these setting work great for that, 4k content on the other hand i like to be softer on 1080 displays. if you are playing 4k content on a 4k display it uses the upscaling setting by default. so it doesnt make too much difference. but yes jinc is better for downsampling if you like super sharp images on small displays. it may be hard to run though, might not actually be getting every frame delivered.

    • @Michel-zp2fw
      @Michel-zp2fw 7 лет назад

      i just tried your settings, but when i want to watch a 4K movie it starts to stutter and i just can't get it right so it'll play smoothly. i have a 65inch TV and my pc is hooked to a reciever and from there to my TV. i have a 980TI graphics card and maybe thats the problem...? i have chroma upscaling now on NGU and image down and up both on Jinc, seems to work fine now but i just know it can get better than that! you have any suggestions?

    • @p1st0ls44
      @p1st0ls44  7 лет назад

      try turing down some anti ringing settings and stuff. these settings i use are for my gtx 1070, and it is much better with video decoding. this may have effected your results. try a few things out. lower algorithm quality to the lowest settings and see what happens. 4k video is already insanely hard to run. with upscaling it gets very hard to run. best of luck brother.

      that is very strange. make sure the ngu is set to medium or low. doesnt make much difference. also, monitor your gpu usage in windows. lower settings and find out what is causeing the slow down. hope this helped.

    Is it just me or is there no difference in picture quality for me?

    • @p1st0ls44
      @p1st0ls44  7 лет назад +1

      this largely depends on the quality of the videos you are watching. videos at or above 720p wont see a massive difference in image quality because the pixels are not processed enough. there have been updates to madvr sense this video though. try going to the artifact removal tab and click the new reduce compression artifacting and go to strength 8 and tell me what you see. things are better smoothed out and artifacting disapears on lower quality video. its a nice effect now. hope this clears a little up.

    If you got a Stutter on TV output just Change -> Image Upscaling to Cubic (and then Bicubic75 and activate anti-ringing filter) Everything else, perfect!

    hey buddy, i have a slight problem.
    first of all i use potplayer.
    most of my video files are x264 and i can always change between software and harware when i play them.
    sofware ALWAYS looks way worse. so, obviously
    i will use hardware (acceleration?).
    now here is the problem:
    when i want to play "HEVC (x265)" or "webm" files for example
    i will NOT get the little icon to change the HW/SW decoder
    (to the right of the play/pause/stop etc controls in the lower left corner)
    or just the SW symbol
    here is how it looks:
    gyazo.com/d3eaaf8c1730fcd76fa88d6454f619e5
    if there i no symbol at all
    i looks like the player is also just using a SW decoder (bad quality, artifacts, ghosting etc)
    for example:
    when in a video there is a black fadeout, you can still see kind of ghosting effects and NOT a complete black image.
    Now..
    i tried to set my settings the same as yours and it didn't change anything.
    the x264 videos look great, but it didn't work for the HEVC & webm files for example.
    is there a way to fix this?
    like maybe to tweak the settings in a way that it's always using my gpu (gtx 970) to play all videos in order to get the best possible quality.
    or maybe i have to change something about the video renderer in order for it to work?)
    (right now i have it on "Madshi Video Renderer", which is the one for madVR)
    i'm kinda lost here so i would appreciate if someone could help me.
    thanks :)

    • @p1st0ls44
      @p1st0ls44  7 лет назад

      one thing you gotta do it right click on the video and go to something called filters, and go to lav video filter. after that physically change the video to hevc codec which is nvidia cu. after you do that all your videos are hardware decoded. BUT, i have to say this. software dxva looks better. also if you dont have that for your player change the internal filter for video to always be hardware or software renderer. you have to chose which video types turn this feature on. and remember, i am on a gtx 1070, and these settings are spanking my card. if i believe so the 970 is half the video processing card, so you may have to do some tinkering. i hope this helped you out. just try and find a way to force sw or hardware settings for you. as for my video decoding is software for me because it just looks superior before madvr takes it and changes things up using the hardware gpu.

      when i play a vid and right click ->filters
      gyazo.com/3abaa2cb0d48915b68ee975593b7ddf1
      i don't have the lav video filter
      do you have to manually install that?
      i went to "manage filters"
      clicked on video decoder
      and then on
      "Built-in Codec/DXVA settings"
      and got this
      gyazo.com/dc4777ab1fc0842dae03c052a247d5dd
      you can tell me if there is something wrong or unusual going on.

    • @p1st0ls44
      @p1st0ls44  7 лет назад

      you are not even using madvr to do video decoding, you are using ffmpeg. that is an older decoder. i used to use that.

    • @garycoleman8906
      @garycoleman8906 7 лет назад

      ok, but how there is no other option to choose madvr

    • @p1st0ls44
      @p1st0ls44  7 лет назад

      install madvr, and chose it from your players settings. in mpc it is the output tab. the problems you are having are strictly related to something that isnt even madvr. look up how to install and run it in your player.
