Me personally, until cobblemon gets gyms, pokecenters and trainers. I will like pixlemon more.... until it gets those updates because cobblemon is cool but it feels empty without gyms and trainers ect.
I don't think gyms will be added in cobblemon. I think the main focus of the devs is to put pokemon in a way that doesn't interfere with the regular minecraft gameplay.

i recommend getting the fight or flight addon. Some pokemon will decide to attack you if you get too close, some will run away, and some won't do much of anything. What makes it better is that you can attack pokemon directly, and any mons you have out will fight with you.

@idomiee90 keep in mind, the next pokemon game isn't available until next year, where it is revisiting a region and not confirming a new region. The pokemon team even stated they won't be making new regions anytime soon because how bad scarlet and violet was in terms of gameplay and performance.
Most definitely not a year, it took Pixelmon so long to become what it is today, nothing about this mod screams unique either way, more of a "hey look! Pokemon!"

Mod is really great but it has some empty spots you can't ride pokemon, there is no quests, no raids, not enough interesting events to make a little more fun and enjoyable but it will definitely get better
To me, Pixelmon is the mod you play for way more content, but less fun content, while Cobblemon is the mod you play for more QoL, art style (can’t think of a better word), but less content. With time I feel like Cobblemon will be the better mod going forward, but that’s something we won’t know until later down the line.
Saw what pixelmon has become after not playing it for a few years, sad to see it honestly. Doesn't need to replace villagers, the movement is jank, anything that flies or swims goes in a straight line and despawns, gotta set specific settings to kill anything because it's practically peaceful by default as it prevents other mob spawns, and as much as pixelmon claims to be a pokemon experience it's been a few years since PLA added the ability to remember moves on the fly AND choose to evolve instead of being forced to (even if that one isn't present in SV) and honestly, cobblemon has it beat in all those catagories. Sure, not all the pokemon are in it yet, but where pixelmon seeks to make minecraft it's own pokemon game, cobblemon tries to work with it and make it minecraft with pokemon, from the berry farming to apricorns. What it doesn't add off the bat the community is well able to make an addon for because the code and modeling are so simple. I've even seen people making more fakemon in one year for cobblemon than 6 years for pixelmon
Try reinstalling os but backup hardrive on another computer just in case it erase all your files. Thats what i did and i fixed my computer but it erased alll my files. Dont do a custom install do repair os when installing it that is how i erased alll my data luckily it wasnt aything important only thing i lost i coundt get back is my screenshots from my games.
Cobblemon fits the theme of Minecraft, while pixelmon chucks out the newest stuff faster. So if you care about the design go cobblemon but game wise you should do pixelmon so you can rebuild your team from the real games
Pixelmon just has more content that makes playing it more enjoyable then cobblemon untill they add alot more content I don't really care if the pokemon look like they belong in Minecraft I play modded for what's not in the game

it's completely open source, if you want those things you can easily just create a datapack that'll do the job
