As much as I am skeptical of these as seen on TV products. What you are doing on the floor mats around 4:00 is not dusting and a bit unfair to its claims. That is vacuuming up lumps of dirt and debris. This item is a replacement for a traditional dusting tool. Its whole design is to not pick up larger objects in drawers while dusting. IE the binder clips clip you showed from their ad. Hmmm clips clip, interesting...
The dust daddy one was a bit skewered. Its made for dust and other very small particles. Your version, you didn't use it on the floor mats. Pretty sure it would also get clogged.
So for the dust daddy you specifically chose to not suck up dust, and instead suck up twigs and rocks from a floor mat. Then you complain that it sucks and that straws work better by using the straws to suck up a fine powder? Pepper =/= twigs and rocks.
The dust daddy is awesome, their using it wrong on here......floor mats can be easily vacuumed with a regular vacuum. The dust daddy is for vacuuming small items while their surrounded by large items you don't want to suck up. Cup holders, silverware drawer, pen/pencil holder, any kind of vent etc. It's $10 and really comes in handy.

it is called the "Dust Daddy" not the refuse daddy, all you would have to do is take the nozzle off and suck up the big debris, then put the "Dust Daddy" back on and keep rockin, not having to take time to make your crappy diy junk.

I sold cellphones for years and our service department received phones almost daily with water damage and when we asked if people used an air vent phone holder we realized that was the culprit.
