Great video mate! i currently use the standard AXS and i love it but im due an upgrade soon. Was going to go for the Fox Frontier but this really is making my decision harder! Sonik always provide such good value for money!
Great review. Like you say not many reviews on this. I just bought the Sonik AXS XL V2. Anyone know what the difference between the Sonik AXS XL & the Sonik ASX XL V2? No reviews i can really find on the XL V2.
@garethcollier9629 from what I gather, the central mechanism is stronger, the poles are stronger, the fabric has been upgraded... you can open vents from the inside and can purchase an inner dome. A decent upgrade. One of the poles had snapped on mine where the central mechanism is. Sonik did send me a new pole to fix it myself. So I think the upgrade was needed. 👍🏻
@@carryoncasting Much appreciated for the reply. Sounds nasty with the pole snapping as i noticed its fiddly to set up getting the poles locked in place. hopefully end of feb getting use on the bank.
Hey, What are the packdown dimensions for this? Currently using an older Sonik xti brolly, and it's Over 6ft packed down, it is apparently lighter than the axs XL, but I'm hoping the more compact size will make it "feel lighter" when on the barrow, as more weight will be in the front. The bivvy itself will mainly be used for day sessions with 2 people sitting inside on large armchairs, and tackle, will it be big enough for 2 people's worth of stuff? Thank you, Nero.
It's around 4½feet when packed away around 13kg and pretty evenly packed. Loads of room mate if you're just using it for day sessions easily get 2 chairs all your gear and more 👍🏻
Yeah it's sound, trickier to put up compared to the smaller one cause of how much bigger it is, especially from new because the fabrics tight, you just have to make sure the fabric is push all the way down on each poll, it's a mint bivvy, just got the vapour cap for it but not used it yet, see if it helps any in the winter 👍🏻
Hello, Good video. Thanks for the great presentation of the bivvy. I would like to know if there is enough space to put a sleep system (bedchair) in and a chair in front together? Thanks in advance for you answer
Hi, I'm out on the bank now doing 48hrs in it, first time using it and I'm impressed, not only does it look great, feel great it is a good size also, I have my sleep system in and my chair in and still plenty of room 👌🏻
Looking for a new bivvy, this one was top of my potential list but the deal breaker for me was mesh pole sleeves???…….Why……..?……if the sleeves had been made of the same material as the bivvy I would of bought one. In my experience mesh degrades and wears and holes etc when out in the weather.
I've heard people say they have had their original 1 man for a couple of years and still going strong, the mesh sleeves you speak of do feel of good quality material. I did my first session in it the weekend just gone and I'm glad I brought this one, well happy with it. 👌🏻
Hi there just to let you know you had the ground sheet In upside down and all so looks like the front peak cross bar upside down. I've had the original axs over 2 years now and still going strong 👍. I will be getting the xl soon 🤘
Video is good mate. How you getting on with it? was looking at the fox frontier xd but this looks mint!! And cheaper, any issues with it so far? Do you find the footprint to big for some swims you get on?
I'm pleased with it, the first few times using it is a little tricky putting the poles in that keeps it held together, if it's not fanned out properly and you try getting them poles in I think they would break.... but now I've used it a few times it goes up with ease.... It's been fine on whatever swim I've fished on, the fabric quality and ground sheet is spot on for the price. I still think I made the right choice when buying this 100% 👌🏻
hello your idea of putting up tents on a spider structure not very impressive you make a video ok great but you could fasten this subbed put on the front panel put the bed so that people can see how much space there is give the dimensions specifically and to the point I wish you that this tent will serve you well greetings
It was a little tricky putting up for the first time, it was just to make sure it was all there really... I'll be using it this weekend... I'll be doing a video of the trip and the bivvy will be fully assembled with front panel and bed so you will be able to see it in my next video which will be next week 👍🏻....

Still going strong? Thinking of upgrading from the normal axs heard mixed reviews of poles snapping etc
