The fact that Mr Fox refers to the wolf as a "creature" instead of a person shows just how different their lives are. Mr Fox always believed himself to be a wild animal, stealing from farms and killing turkeys. But now, he realises that no, he's not. He's a man with responsibilities to his family. He's not the wild animal he thought he was and he's finally accepted it.
Yeah that has always confused me. They look behind them then notice a wolc on their right as though that's what they turned round to see. I also dont really understand the point or context of this scene with what they're doing at the time it just seems a bit random.
@@jacobmassey3897 I think it's to show that Mr Fox finally accepts his condition of wild animal. After all, he's just a Vulpes vulpes, and a wolf is just a Canis lupus!
Orange parts are mr fox. Cuz he is in the fall of his life. Wolf is in white cuz he is in the winter of his life and Mr Fox is gettin older so gettin closer to that wolf. Sorry for bad language.
Your comment made me reflect.... But one thing i don't understand is why mr fox and the other animals live and act like humans while animals like the wolf and the angry beagle are wild?
@@biancanencioni6279 its probably a matter of choice. They chose to live like humans but are still somewhat wild, while some animals chose to stay truly wild without living like humans.
@@biancanencioni6279 mr.fox considered himself as wild animal so he goes about stealing farm animals for a living but this scene shows that not only he's not wild (cant fully communicate with wild animal anymore) but he lives in a society now, with very real responsibilities like raising a civilized family.
He and the animals have adapted and live human lives. They can speak, they wear clothes, walk on 2 legs, work jobs and have families. Mr. Fox has always thought of himself as a wild animal who kills and steals from the farmers, but he’s not really wild anymore. The wolf on the other hand is. He can’t speak, doesn’t wear clothes and walks on all fours. He also has to hunt his food in the wild, while Mr. Fox and the other animals have unlimited access to the supermarket and farms. The simple raising the arm gesture is the only thing he has to bridge himself between wild life and domestic life. And while foxes and wolves may be different and enemies due to their competition, they both have hard lives but show mutual respect for each other.
this is the perfect example of how the perfect piece of composed music used at the right time can significantly enhance or even completely transform a moment or scene. this is without the viewer realising (at first watch) the power of a background element that made it such a moving experience. wes anderson indeed knows how to infuse a scene into his work that escapes the story and gives you a grand beautiful moment. but listen to this scene again without the music (muted) and you'll feel the difference. this is why music composition is the most underrated art form that can transcend and elevate the medium it is associated with. alexandre desplat strikes again!

The music in this scene nearly brings me to tears every time, especially right at the point where Foxy and the wolf raise fists to each other. Great scene, great movie, great soundtrack. Great book even.
them both raising their fists in the air shows how even though they are both very different species, they both will always be able to understand the language of survival
when family leader meet the real wild legend outside..then mr fox try to comunicate with the wolf..mr fox realize that wolf is a real legend and should get a big respect..because that mr fox raised up her hand to tell that wolf they are same creature..when the wolf raised back..that mean WE ARE SAME..what a good creature and the best scene ever
Thank you RUclips for recommending me this video again. All seems right in the world after the loads of ignorance I saw. Wished more people were like the solidarity between Mr. Fox and the Wolf.
hes facing the embodiment of his desires. a true wild animal. when faced with he real deal he realizes hes not cutout for that life. even after the loses his tail he starts behaving more and more like a person than an animal.
This is Mr. Fox finally rectifying his relationship with nature, and in doing so his relationship with himself. He sees the wolf as a pure wild animal that makes no attempt to civilize itself. Mr. Fox on the other hand is domesticated and personified as he tries to move on from the wild roots of his species. This scene is so important as it juxtaposes wild and domestic animals, but it also shows that there is peace between them and no phobias or hostility.
It shows that Mr. Fox realizes he’s not the wild animal he always thought himself as. He’s a husband and a father with a home and job. The wolf is truly wild. And Mr. Fox mentioning he has a fear of wolves, he manages to show mutual respect for it and no longer have a fear of them.
i think mainly it represents fantastic mr fox’s purgatory being being wild and civilised. hes not really wild anymore, he can’t directly communicate with the wolf and the wolf doesn’t understand him but there’s solidarity when he raises his fist, in spite of his phobia of the wolf he has a massive respect for it and what it represents.
Sometimes in life we are able to get a small peak to a different life Is both exicting and terrifying, watching into someone else and instead seeing the person we might had become if we made a frw different choices and knowing that life not lived is out of our reach Mr fox is on a limbo between being a schemer and adrenaline junkie,a wild trickster Vs His role a family head as well the fact he has a civilized lifestyle (he eats procesed food,he dresses clothes,he speaks a language etc) So fox here actually sees a true wild and free animal,in a way he will never able to be,and so he admires it for a few seconds and makes peace with his inner conflict
I interpreted as Mr. Fox accepting his condition as a civilized animal, but without disrespecting his wild side. He understands that he and the wolf are very different, but also very much alike in their struggles. The fact they don't speak the same language doesn't mean that they can't share the same meaning, it's a powerful message. Symbols like the fist unite people, it means resilience against the harsh winter for example. When he could understand deeply the wolf, the wolf understood him deeply and fear was no longer.
Mr. Fox always though of himself as a wild animal when stealing from the farmers, but he’s not so wild anymore. He lives a human life; speaking, wearing clothes, has a job, a family and walking on 2 legs. The wolf is the real wild animal; can’t speak, doesn’t wear clothes and walks on all 4s. He also has to hunt his own food, while Mr. Fox and the others have unlimited access to the supermarket and farms. Raising his arm is the only thing he has to connect with the wolf and bridge the gap between the wild and domestic life. And while he has a fear wolves, probably due to competition for survival, they both show mutual respect for each other. They see eye-to-eye when they realize they both have their own personal struggles when it comes to living.
I think it shows the difference between Mr. Fox and his friends and an actual wild animal. Mr. Fox tries to communicate with the wolf but he can't because he's no longer in touch with the wilds of nature. Getting over his fear of wolves and showing respect to the animal whose life is much more difficult than his. Other people in the comments have commented it better than I.
It’s certainly not in the original book but according to wes Anderson, the wolf represents the concept of being wild , mr fox trying to communicate with it but he can’t symbolises that there’s nothing left for him in the wild anymore (which is presumably why he cries) i think it’s supposed to show hes moving on for the sake of his family and accepting he can’t go back to the wild
