    Like others said, I'm not sure this would be a job I would undertake, but kudos for you taking it on. Looks good.

    This is a mod I plan on adding in the near future as I work up through the faster speed classes in the Big Bend open Road Races. Mostly for the advertised front downforce increase at higher speeds. The wheel well vents will also help relieve the high pressure induced drag inside the wheel well but only if relief cut outs are opened up on top of the stock wheel wells just under the vents. Since it is reducing lift this mod should allow increased front down force with less HP loss than a front splitter. Heat dissipation is a nice secondary benefit. I enjoy your channel.

    Those look really good. Im curious how they will do in keeping the engine cooler. I live in Alabama and im already thinking of getting a remote control for the fans so i can manually turn them on since they wait so long to kick on full blast. Sitting on grid at autocross in July isn't great for the C5, it likes to be moving! That said, I don't think I could cut holes in my hood right now! My car is too stock and too low miles. Maybe if I keep her another 5 years or so. Also, as far as seats, I have the Corbeau A4 leather seats. They look really nice in the car (i found a set on FB that were basically new but much cheaper). I will say that they have good bolstering but they aren't as comfortable on longer drives than the stock seats (even with the lumbar bladder). The bottom of the seat is pretty firm and doesn't have a lot of padding and sometimes my lower back can get a bit tight riding in them for a while. The main issue with them is that I can't get the seat back quite as far since they bear into the seatbelt housing and the center console and just don't go back as far as stock seats. So the leg room is overall a bit worse which is not great for me at 6'1" with long legs. But I still recommend them overall, and especially if you are doing more high performance driving/cornering but dont want a race seat.

    Looks good! I think I would prefer to just do the center vent... all 3, to me seem a little much. Would there be any disadvantage to just the center? Last question.... is the any concern with the rigidity or the hood since it appeared that some of the support structure had to be cut? Love your channel... always very informative.

    Love the look and the idea of getting the heat out, just don't think i can bring myself to chopping my hood up, did you re install the blanket cut to match, or just leave it out?
    Keep us updated on how you like this upgrade, looks great!

      Haha there was definitely a hesitation and I looked at a replacement hood cost before I started (wasn't terribly expensive) so I went for it!

    Looks great! Question: The under hood insulation, do you cut it and re-install it? Or did you leave it off completely? 👍✌️

    Hi..Love your vids. I have a question about your car. The rear spoiler and front splitter...are those standard on a Z06 ? I just bought a '99 convertible and it has those items on it. Just wondered if they are aftermarket or factory. Thanks !!!

    • @VetOnVettes
      @VetOnVettes  8 месяцев назад

      Oh no, all aftermarket. Only the wheels I have, the notch back FRC roof line & rear wheel vents are stock.

    • @VetOnVettes

      The engine bay gets a little wet. My C8 from the factory has "hood" vents & the motor gets soaked when it rains. No big deal really. Everything is water proof. (to a degree).
