Best short position (DJT) I have had this year. Holding put options indefinitely, as it eventually becomes a penny stock. Trump and team took retail investors (MAGA's mostly) to the cleaners.

Almost every news I come across on RUclips(which happens pretty often) is about stocks and crypto prices falling or crashing... When do people now make money from these things or are they some sort of ponzi scheme to make the rich richer?
This is different, DJT had no potential from the start. Regular people also make a lot of money from the market, although they usually have more expertise /knowledge than average, or they use experts i.e hedge funds or fin.advisers. There is a goldmine in the market and that is why almost every rich person buys into it.
True, the expertise part is very true. I've been using an FA since covid and I'm stunned that most people don't use this but prefer "gambling" and complaining they lost their money. I've made a couple thousand bucks this year by basically doing nothing. It's not rocket science

It's almost 20 minutes until the markets close for the day. The stock lost another 13.6% for the day.
Ended down 14% and more importantly, it ended near the lows for the day, which means there will be more people dumping it at the open tomorrow.

Coincidence. The stock market started having trouble two weeks ago when the March inflation numbers came out. The market has been expecting rate cuts in June, but the high inflation numbers in March, followed by extremely good jobs numbers means most people aren't expecting a rate cut until late in the year. Me personally, I think there will be no rate cuts in 2024. It just so happened that the Trump merger happened right at the time those CPI numbers came out.

Both things can be true at the same time. Have you read the Trump SEC filing? it is a nightmare. I am with her, they do not explain well if they are fulfilling warrants or offering new shares. At one point, they seem to end a sentence early, and then say something like 'shares are currently selling at $32 per share' which makes it sound like the proceeding sentence was imply they were issuing new shares to be sold to the public. But the way they cut off the sentence, makes it ambiguous. If they aren't selling new shares, but are instead just fulfilling warrants, then they totally screwed up, because the market crushed them as if they were selling new shares.

If Trump files to sell shares, the stock is worthless. This stock has very little float. You can't short it. The fees are too high. Everyone that wanted to buy the stock has already bought it and yet it has declined 60% from it its high in 2 weeks. Who is going to buy his shares at the current price? Nobody I know, and I work in Wealth Management.

It is only trading like a meme stock in which the "memeness" has already been exposed, and it is on its way down like amc or bbby. If, as Andrew suggests, there is foreign money or big anonymous investors "pushing the stock up", then there will be an equal or greater movement of traders taking advantage of that to short it to the oblivion its financials and fundamentals would recommend.

TruthSocial has $4m in revenues, $54m in loses, and lost 58% of their users from 2022 to 2023. For social media companies, growth in users is the biggest thing, especially for newer companies, revenues are less important, profitability is even less important (early on). The fact that TruthSocial lost half of it's users in what is supposed to be it's growth phase means it will never be profitable. You can look at the google app store. Truth social isn't even in the top 500. Facebook Threads is like #11 and Twitter is about #25...and Truth Social not in the top 500.
