Keep things rusty, except your tools!
Thanks for the jb weld tutorial! I put that $#!+ on everything! SEND IT!!
She’s Cherry for something that old! No rot!
You don't even need to worry about the knock, fill it up with that Lucas goop and send it 😂
Exactly 😂
I have a 67 f 750 that I drive all the time. I love it
ATF and acetone makes the best ring loosener.
AKA Kroil! 🤫
Shhhh
Kroil pb blaster atf acetone and paint thinner
Glub glub.... 4 mpg 😁 Sweet pickemup truck project
It has a floor, it has a floor hoorah hoorah. Doors shut nice. Nice find. Good vid, hope you find your FE.
Another great old truck find to add to your yard fleet! I'm thinking up there ihere in Alaska that the trucks of old up there are rare HEAVY DUTY breed indeed that we lower 48 state folks would love to put our enthusiats hands on. Great content!
390 low oil pressure at idle...unhooked the switch
ive got a 70.s F600 here in Delta Junction that i am about to start on. I am getting it all cleaned up and running good and then building a "tiny house" type cabin on the back of it. Glad I came across this video.
That's keeper man ,nice seat ,dump bed ,& a kw mud flap Heck yeah 👍 👍 👍 👍
The best cliff hanger ever!
Great show. Very much like my '77 with 370cuin 4x4. Can't wait for the next vid.
Gotta love the bush ingenuity. Gitten it done. I was once about 50 yrs ago, one couldn't put a under the waterline patch on my 28' fiberglass boat after it broke loose from its mooring at 15 degrees, wind blowing about 50, hit the beach got a hole punched in her and the tide was starting to come in. Dang patch was on there over 2 years.
I want one of those so dam badly
A great find. I have alway liked the F600 dent sides. Onward!
It even came with a complimentary coffee mug!
With the rest of the truck being so good, it's worthwhile to address the motor issue. Can't wait for the next installment on the F600!
Nice truck! She’s got the right stuff!
That thing is straight as heck. Sweet 6-hundy. 🤟😎
It's your nicest truck
You might be surprised how long it will run around in the yard 🤣😂👍👍🇺🇸
My F600 had the 361 FT also, it ran like a sewing machine, such a nice truck
That c channel front bumper look's like it would take quite a beating. 👍👍
I've owned several old iron
67 mustang 289.65 Ford camper special.. 352..69 nova. My dad had dodges.. had friends that had a belvedere with the 409. Best engine I've been around was the 454 in a c 20. Always started. In temps really low. Could pull anything. Didn't leak oil. Had a cooling system that could tow in 100 degree weather and never overheat. The c20s had power disc brakes in the early 70s. Front large sway bar, overload springs in the back. Nothing really comes close
The jb weld seems like a perfectly normal repair. It just needs some ford blue engine paint over it.
Hey Brother! It's OK - We know you are the 'Can Do Man'! If the JB holds, then good - if not, then it'll be better yet! What an awesome vid that would be to see the engine swap by the 'Can Do Man'! Thanks Bro!
So hilarious to see you just fix the hole with JB weld 🤣 ok you got me hooked up i wanna see what's going to happen next.
Great job on squeezing the last bit out of that FT motor. Good entertainment
Thx for taking us along.
Those were great old Fords.
I had a F600 and the seat looked just like that my buddy has it now and it sill Is mint that must have been the toughest vinyl ever
Know weld was literally the first thing I thought of when I saw that hole nice work👍
I like your approach buddy! Great vid!
Congrats BYA on another truck/71 ford f600. Hard knock, maybe it will last a couple of miles..
Looking good 👍
I've got one of these monsters, the slightly heavier F700. Also 1971, absolutely amazing trucks
I got 3 old ford trucks. My main truck has a 390 my wrecker has a 352. I just bought a 74 with a 360. I’m thinking about buying a 75 f250. It has a 400 in it is what he told me. I haven’t confirmed that yet. I’m not sure I don’t think they came stock with a 400. I gotta research that. He wants 1000 bucks for it, I know he was driving every day about a year ago. The rear end went out and he parked it. He said he has rearend for it in the back. I’m probably buying it next week.
what a gem! cannot wait to see how this one turns out! thanks for sharing!
That is an awesome find. Glad to see another vehicle saved. Can't wait for the next video. Thanks for sharing. Always enjoy your videos.
Great video. I just bought a 1968 F600 with the 330. Will definitely be sticking around for this.
Also mine had say since 94. Got beat to piss before I got it lol. No brakes, runs like a gem
Ha! Nice truck and good video! Like the repair, sure won't hurt anything!,
Very nice old truck... so clean and straight after all these years.
A low mileage truck from a guy who takes care of his stuff has a motor that's blown a hole on the block. I guess that answers the question about how reliable the industrial version of these motors are, and maybe why no one talks about them or uses them as retrofits. Dunno.
Nice F600! It's pretty rare to find one in that good of shape down here in the lower 48, let alone Alaska! Would definitely make for a nice hauler truck once she has a good engine again. That dump bed is another nice touch, too! I know of people who'd salvage the bed and put it on a newer truck, so the bed alone is worth keeping at worst case scenario.
Really loving the JB Weld patch job! That engine's scrap weight anyways, so why not have some fun with it first? lol
I briefly owned a 1971 F600 2001 into 2002. It needed lots of work and it had the split rims. It had a stake side flatbed, 300-6, 4 speed manual transmission and a single speed rear axle. It had an oil bath air cleaner. I absolutely loved driving it but few places would insure it and parts were hard to find. I sold it back to the father of the young man I bought it from.
Oh you're just torturing a guy down here in Kentucky you just don't find trucks like that and if you do they are just a piles of rust and they still want a arm and a leg for them I think it's wonderful that you saved them enjoy your videos would be nice to meet you one day keep up the great work
I love your channel, as I've said before, it's totally unique. This one put a real smile on my raggedy old face! Thanks for sharing and best regards from Ireland.
Well done!! That’s how it’s done me!!
Awesome video, thank you! Hi, from Anchorage. I’m keeping a 390 FE spare, in the garage in case I find a decent project like you often score !
JB weld does wonders i really know you will get this running Thanks for sharing
Fireman 🔥🔥🔥
that looks like a nice candidate for a ramp truck to haul your treasures when you find jewels like this.
great content as usual. I love how you keep these relics of the past alive.
Another great find. Lots of room under the hood for putting another engine in the old girl! Looking forward to the next adventure! Thanks!
Nice camera work! The commentary is perfectly backyard and I have never heard the word "sculpt" on another repair video before! Thanks!
That appears to be in great shape body wise. I'd love to have it on my farm👍
Drove one just like this hauling tobacco no power steering if the oil light flashes the end is near
What a cool old truck. Looks sharp.
Great video. First thing that goes in these engines is the small seal around the distributor. It was before o rings. Excell used to make a electronic distributor for these engines, with the o.. ring. They run alot better with better spark delivery. Take care. Tim
Great condition for that age , you got a great deal, should clean up nicely .
A great truck to haul your future parts finds from the scrap yard.
Once you get that engine sorted
lots of cool options on a rig like that id maker a recovery rig make a fold up ramp outta square tube and expanded metal that hinges off the back and a winch at the top of the bed and you got a mint tow truck
Wow this is just the best I love your enthusiasm for sketch but necessary repairs!Plus you can have confidence that's definitely going to hold because it's Ford tough🤠
This is a great candidate for those 68% restoration work truck projects 👏 👍 around my parts out east here that's the perfect wood truck put some sides on it and she could hold a good two or five cords ...
Another really useful and cool old rig for the fleet. Thanks for the video and good luck with her!
JB used to make a kinda dough you could mix up, cause me and a family member used it on a front diff on a blazer years back!!!!
Clank Clank Clank❤🏁
Fix whatever is loose inside the engine, weld a patch over the hole and call it a day! It's what my father did to a rather large crack in an Allis WC, thing is still holding together.
That’s stinks , still a good truck , that stuff works great love the arts and crafts too
Might not of hurt to pull the pan for a look before patching. But hey, who wants to lay in the snow that long? :-)
A chance is sometimes the only way to go. If it holds, it’ll make you a good product sponsor. Lol 😂
I have a ford 8n that once threw a rod and put a huge hole in the block and oil pan and they very badly welded the broken pieces then JB welded it and ran it!
BA, pretty sketchy but why not? Cool video...ah, no pun intended!
This is gonna be gooood 😁👍
Good posting! Appreciate all the humorous aspects. I have some automotive ignition tools I would be happy to send to you. Just provide an address. Keep rescuing old vehicles!!
I use a match box to set my points
Hell yea! If the jb doesn't hold I've seen the quiksteel clay like stuff patch up things that even a "proper fix" wouldn't touch.
Quicksteel is awesome..
JB Weld is awesome. You can fix alot of things with JB Weld, zip ties, electric tape, duct tape.
I don't do much wrenching myself. I wonder though if it'd be possible to weld that. Aside from using jbweld lol. I'd assume the other issue would be making it flat so the pan would seal. Maybe file it down as flat as you can make it and use rtv to fill any gap there might be.
It's a beauty! Almost hope you don't wash the lichens off. Is that some kind of heating coil wrapped around the power steering reservoir? Looking forward to the next vid on this one.
Now what could possibly go wrong?? LOL, shit fire, shes a runner with a sound of its own for sure but at least it will drive into the shop to pull and put... had to be a rod that sent a hole but if most of that is in the pan, who knows, might even get a few weeks/months or just moments before all hell breaks loose. Have fun with it.. its reassuring that some of these trucks still in fair shape exist. I think shes a great truck even with that dead engine
Me gusta este tipo de camiones el mecanismo es fácil hacer mantenimiento y la estructura es bien solida
The k whopper mud flap is mint 👌!
Open it up and pull out that broken rod. Run it on 7? If it don't run on 7 it never woulda run on 8... Nice video as always.
sweet love it
JB weld sculpting. Next exhibit at the smithsonian
The jb weld reminded me of something I would do
Great video as usual bud I really like your channel
Just be prepared the Dutch lady Noraly is headed your way on a Honda motorcycle by the name of Itchy boots
Motor is still good. Check timing chain, water pump. Chicken wire is better than cardboard. Cut a small section, bend it into the hole . It's like small rebar. Card board will break down in the inside and plug the oil pump.
Your quite the Sculptor, LOL
I've read that the 360FT had a forged crank, not sure about the 352FT
Every industrial FE block I've had anything to do with seemed to be dogs compared to my 390 in my 69' 3/4 ton.
Nice.
That truck is in way too nice shape for it's age. I think before you try starting it again, I'd drop the oil pan. You might be able to get away with replacing one rod & bearing and save the engine. That would be a whole lot cheaper than another used engine. Just a thought. 🤔
Nice looking find. JB weld it and let it rip. If she, she runs. If she blows, go find another motor..
That's why you see all that oil on the intake and in front of the distributor. It blows out when you drive around. that distributor seal, wasnt engineered well in Ford engines.
If you don’t wanna answer it it’s fine but how much did this beautiful gem cost ya?
Someone correct me if I’m wrong but if you look at the cab mounts, they are on the outside on 1 ton and up or maybe just the larger version and on the pick up half ton versions. The cab mounts are on the inside of the frame if my memory doesn’t feel me.
Same for 4x4 and 2WD pickups, all you have to do is drill them out.
Hell ya 👍👍
