  • In this video we look at one of the new Black Gold Sights for 2020 the Black Gold Mountain Light, and go through the Black Gold sight setup in this Black Gold Mountain Lite review. This new Black Gold Mountain Lite sight review includes a test of the dual indicator system at multiple yardages to see if this thing works the way it is supposed to.
    This new Black Gold bow sight is a great addition to their lineup and new dual indicator system can be added to other slider sites like the Black Gold Pro. Black Gold Sight setup is pretty easy, just follow the step by step process in the below videos and you'll be set in no time!

    I have the single pin site , ( Hunt MASS ) and a 20-35 yard shot is considered long in this terrain . Is the process still the same ?

    • @BackwoodsPursuit

      Thanks for watching! Yes, setting up the sight is the same regardless of how many pins you have, other than you obviously won't have use of the dual indicator system as you only have the one pin. Let me know if you have any other questions! Happy to help if I can.

      I have a different sight that I like alot 4 my close range high FOC arrows here in MN. I plan 2 practice with my other bow which is very similar & new like my other 1. However I got the 1 pin Ascent Verdict sight since it has a vertical pin & I plan 2 shoot lighter arrows 4 building my form & confidence. I'm trying 2 double or triple my maximum effective range during the summer. I hunt in thick areas where a 25 yard shot is uncommon since I would have a hard time telling if my target is a buck or a doe.

    Another excellent video, thank you! I recently purchased a new Bowtech Reckoning and I’m going to make a change and purchase a Black Gold Pro 3 pin for it. The dual pin indicator is an option to add to the MBG Pro sight and I found your video very helpful when deciding whether or not I want to add the dual indicator to my sight. I think I am going to add it and set up my 3 pins 20/30/40 yards and have the two indicators float the top and bottom pins. I’m going to order the top and bottom pins in green and the middle pin in yellow, that way it will help me know that the two green pins are the ones that are floating. Thanks again for the great content!

    Another great video! I have the BG Pro Single Pin on one bow and the BG Pro 5-Pin on another. I plan to put the dual indicator on the 5-pin sight but I wasn't too sure how to set it up and if it would actually work. Your video answers my questions. Thanks!

    I just set up my sight tape today and my dual indicator system on my Ascent Verdict. I have the same bow as you too. It works pretty well. I shot out to 80 in the last few minutes of light and was only 3” low. My FPS needs some fine tuning. I might even do an 1/8th turn to up it. Unfortunately With my 3 pin sight it would be nice if they had a 3 pin system, because as you get further from 20 the spacing changes and my 30 pin is no longer 10 yards from my 20 and 40.

    • @BackwoodsPursuit
      @BackwoodsPursuit  4 года назад +1

      Thanks for the insight! Yeah, as you move to longer ranges you are going to have a wider pin gap, so the indicators won't be exactly 10yds apart as you go longer. Thanks for watching and let me know if you have any questions along the way!

    Good review and great shooting. Looks terrible for a 5 pin but awesome for a 3 pin. Set top indicator to top pin at 20 and bottom indicator to third pin at 40. Then use bottom pin as floater.

    Haven't been able 2 sight in my Ascent Verdict fully yet, waiting 4 better weather this weekend. I am liking the 4X scope @ shorter distances right now. Nice tips that I will use, after I finish my 2nd & 3rd axis. Still trying 2 get my tune with my new shafts I just built. I was interested in what your bow setup was? Looks like a newer, shorter model.

    Real nice review. I am a single pin shooter and hunt mostly whitetails. Now I drew a New Mexico Elk tag and feel my single pin will put me at a disadvantage. Looking for a sight I can have quick long range recognition. Multi-pin sights bother me because they clutter the sight window. Can you use this system with say just 3 or 4 pins, etc?

    • @BackwoodsPursuit
      @BackwoodsPursuit  4 года назад

      Thanks for watching! Yes, you can order this sight with as few as 2 pins(you need at least 2 pins to take advantage of the dual indicator system). Black Gold can customize the sight to your liking. Let me know if you have any other questions!

    Is the only difference between the Mountain Lite 3 pin and the Ascent Verdict Assault 3 pin the micro adjust? If so, what site head would you recommend over the two? Thanks brother, dig the vids.

      Thanks for watching! They are mostly the same site, but the Mountain Lite has the dual indicator and the lighter weight base. To my knowledge the pins etc are all the same. If the dual indicator is something you think you'd use, it's a cool site. If not, go with the Ascent Verdict for simplicity.

    Thanks for the informative videos! Did you set up the sight tape on this setup the same way as in your video for the sight with the single indicator system? That is, did you just utilize one pin of your choosing at both 20 and 60 yards to find the correct sight tape for you set up? Once you selected the correct tape, did you just visually align and adjust the other indicator arrow with your second chosen sight pin or is there something else I'm missing?
    I just picked up this sight and looking forward to getting it all dialed in. Cheers!

      @BackwoodsPursuit  3 года назад +1

      Thanks Robert! I appreciate that!
      Yes, this one sets up just like the single indicator like you said (using the same indicator for 20 and 60) and then lining up the 2nd indicator with whichever pin you choose to associate it with. Sounds like your right on the money!
      Thanks for watching!

    That bow makes a lot of noise when it hits the let off on the draw. What’s up with that?

    • @BackwoodsPursuit
      @BackwoodsPursuit  3 года назад

      It does make a bit of noise, but I think the mic made it sound worse than it really is. I haven't noticed it to be overly loud when next to other guys shooting, but I'd say it is a little louder than some when it hits the back wall. Thanks for watching!

    For the 3 pin could you add a third indicator?

    • @BackwoodsPursuit
      @BackwoodsPursuit  3 года назад

      I suppose it would be possible if uppi could figure out a way to attach it to the slide. It would work as far as lining the third indicator up with another pin, but currently there isn't a way screw in a third one. Let me know if you try it and get something to work! Thanks!

    What type of targets do you guys use

    • @BackwoodsPursuit
      @BackwoodsPursuit  4 года назад +1

      We've used the Rinhart and I just started using a Delta McKinsey MoFoam. The Rinhart has held up really well, and we'll see on this Delta McKinsey. This video was shot down at the public range, and I believe those targets are a Rinhart, but I'm not 100% sure. Thanks for watching!

    Does it work good for 3d archery shoots

    • @BackwoodsPursuit
      @BackwoodsPursuit  3 года назад

      Absolutely! You really don't need the 2nd indicator for 3D shoots, but it's certainly not hurting anything. It can be taken off if you just want one indicator as well. Thanks for watching!

  • @glennhermon3133
    @glennhermon3133 2 года назад +1

    I guess I don’t get it. That is a 5 pin sight. In this instance I don’t get the advantage of dialing the 40 yard pin to 30 and the 60 to 50. Why not use the 30 yard and 50 yard pins? I see the advantage for an indicator for the bottom pin for longer ranges. Seems like just over complicating things to me.

    • @BackwoodsPursuit
      @BackwoodsPursuit  2 года назад +1

      Hey there! Really, to me the main benefit with the dual indicator is when you've dialed the 60yd pin, say, to 73yds, you have another reference point. That 2nd indicator will point to another known yardage (say, 55yds for example) for you in the event the animal moves.

  • @bigwestreviews4933
    @bigwestreviews4933 3 года назад +1

    Call me crazy but the dual indicator won’t be accurate at further distances. Since it’s effectively based on pin gap. It really should be based off of one floater pin with the second indicator there to be a close guess.

    • @BackwoodsPursuit
      @BackwoodsPursuit  3 года назад

      Hey there and thanks for the comment! You are correct in that the 2nd indicator won't be an even number like it is when it's zeroed out (60 and 30 in the video), bit it'll be accurate for whatever yardage it points to at longer distances(say 80 and 63 as an example). It's definitely based on pin gap like you said. That make sense?
