In this video, I demonstrate what it sounds like when I have mild swelling of my vocal folds. www.singwise.com karyn@singwise.com / singwisevocals / singwisevocals / singwise
I lost a halfway decent singing voice after covid and experiencing excessive coughing. It hasn't gone back to normal after a year but I didn't know what to do about it, so I hope some of these videos help. I miss singing in a choir for the holidays and just for the joy of singing to myself and I don't know how I'll go the rest of my life if it doesn't reverse.
More videos on vocal health please! As a beginner, it is hard to find consistently accurate information that can help me develop proper singing technique without harming my vocal folds
I had a sore throat for a couple hours last week as i was singing in the car for fun well out of my range. I stopped when my throat got sore and my voice went raspy. I couldn't do falsetto with it as i were just squeaking and when i tried to sing i sounded like Rod Stewart. Lesson learned not to abuse your voice because you can do some serious damage.
I recently lost my singing voice and was blaming Covid. But after seeing an ENT who specializes in voice disorders, he diagnosed me with GERD and vocal fold inflammation. When I listened to your video, I nearly cried. That is exactly what I sound like! You are 100% accurate with this and I appreciate the confirmation.
“ O My God are my vocal chords injured” is all I ever see when I look into the comments of vocal chord videos. Listen, for the past 4 years I have dealt with vocal damage, you have no idea how frustrating I have gotten with myself. I’m not a professional singer, but I care deeply about music. So give it a break, if you had a serious injury you would know. That doesn’t mean you couldn’t have some vocal damage, but trust me you have no idea.
I always thought I was singing wrong but now I realize that my allergies are probably causing vocal cord swelling. That's a relief honestly. I'll definitely talk to my doctor about it. Awesome video!
I remember having a cough that was so bad, that even when I thought about what I wanted to say aloud, BANG! I put myself on strict vocal rest, which made for a funny impromptu face game with the guest speaker in psychology class, an awkward "conversation" with a colleague, and substituting my voice with my viola in orchestra.
I cured my Acid reflux symptoms and chronic (halitosis)Bad breath smell from stomach when talking with alternative herbs & gluten free diet protocol when I came across drohanon,✊
I was so lucky! I am a self taught singer, I've had years of smooth vocals until I recently messed up the way I sung. Not exactly sure how I managed to do it, but I feel like after watching this I have to have vocal fold swelling.

I think I might be going through this again now. At least I hope it's only vocal-fold swelling and not bloody nodes. o.o
So in a situation like this, forget about going on a performance?!
