Hi James ! There is not unfortunately. But, maybe you can activate the subtitles and launch the automatique translation. We're not very sure about the result but it worth the shot ! It's the icon left to the toothed wheel. If you are interested in this kind of video, stay tune James ! We had a lot of interest for this and we want to make proper comparative video with other boats. So talk to you soon !
@@MiniCatFrance I can turn the captions on but there is no automatic english translation. Maybe you can answer my question briefly, what is the difference in speed between the hobie 16 and minicat 420. I would love to buy a minicat but I have been told that inflatable catamarans are a lot slower. Is there a significant difference in speed?
That is the question right !? ;-) To make a short answer, in this video the boat is reaching 13knots. Maybe you can already have fun with that. There are indeed a lot of differences between those 2 boats. The HB16 is a speed beast, the mainsail is almost 2 times bigger. You'll be able to get over 20 knots with a good crew. So HB16 is way better speed boat. However the MiniCat is 3 times lighter, it will take off in way lighter condition. A very light breeze is enough to get going. The inflatables hulls will absorb a lot forces in choppy sea condition, that's where you will loose some top speed digits against hard hulls. But in exchange you get a way more comfortable boat. Anyway, you should consider a MiniCat in case you are interested in the small space and effort you need to store it, carry it and maintain it. At the end of the day, those 2 boats are not meant to be compared, we can do that for fun that's all. Don't forget you'll probably have a test period after buying your MiniCat, use that to try it out (French customers have 30days)! Or come to Como lake this year : -> www.minicatamaran.eu/about-sailing-catamaran/sailing-news/75-minicat-fun-festival-2022 Hope this was helpful 🤙⛵
Hi truck, reasons for capsizing are most of the time the lost of the balance between the wind force and the weight on the windward side. You need to be quick to react to either add more weight or ease the sheets to reduce the wind force on the sails.
Great Work and sailing
Is there an english version of this video at all?

Hobie 16 is so much faster than any inflatable catamaran. Hobie 16 is also much faster than a WETA Trimaran.
Thats the reason for not having the hobie 16 and the Minicat 420 paralleling even just some seconds in this video. ;)
