  • Today Anneka meets Bosch, a new white wolf to arrive in wilderness WolfWatchUK - he's absolutely huge and very tall for an 11 month old. Will he love or run from her?
Anneka also stays at one of the world's most beautiful Wolf Lodges in the Shropshire Hills and awakes to the sound of wolves howling every morning.
Kgosi Lodge is a new Wolf Cabin built in memory of Kgosi, a beautiful black wolf who has now passed. The cabin is a luxury eco cabin and can be requested for stays by visiting page:
    wolfwatch.uk/s...
To adopt a wolf, buy merchandise or arrange a visit to WolfWatchUK please visit:
    wolfwatch.uk/
WolfWatchUK is not a zoo or wildlife park. You are unable to turn up to view the wolves, but instead a visit needs to be requested in advance. The wolf lodge is only offered out for a few select dates in the year due to the philosophy of WolfWatchUK for the lodge to be sustainable, not profit making. Wolf visits must be arranged separate to the lodge booking.
Thankyou to Tony for taking the time to be on camera, as anyone who knows him well understands that its not his most comfortable place. We are all very grateful here at GreenWorldTV x

The wolf is an amazing creature. Imagine if the wolf would have got extinct in the far past. There would be no dogs either. Everybody today would have pet rabbits and cats instead, running all fking around, multiplying, getting stuck or road killed all over the place, devestating crops, eating car wires ruining insurence and chewing power cables causing never ending power failures and so spreading a constant smell of toasted rabets inside and outside everywhere theres grass or flowers.. . . I think im glad the wolf survived.. We agree pedegree?

Wolves in the USA were reintroduced into Yellowstone National Park and proved a vital part of the ecosystem. Elk were overpopulated and overgrazed river and creek beds causing them to erode. With fewer trees, fewer songbirds could be found. With the erosion, beavers moved on. Wolves helped restore the balance. This is well-documented and a interesting to read up on. Wolves are awesome!

These are magnificent creatures. They form a vital component in the predator chain. Only by their reintroduction into the forests and hillsides can the natural balance of nature begin to be restored. Humans very nearly wiped them out, so now it's up to enlightened conservationists to restore their presence.

    • @hherroyal05
      @hherroyal05 Год назад +1

@@gregfawcett4043 Thank you for responding so eloquently! Wolves are to be respected, exactly because they are NOT dogs. Wolves are completely different from dogs, aside from their DNA strain. I love dogs, precisely because they love humans and are so protective. Dogs have gone through hundreds of thousands of years to evolve into our pets. Dogs are the most devoted pets, and will often fight to the death to save their human (who is the leader of their pack). As Annika said, a wolf that trusts humans is rare, and could also be a concern if ignorant humans are around and could shoot them. Wolves will only eat meat, unless there is nothing else and it is starving. Which means that we are on the menu, too, in those circumstances - they are apex predators. When they have pups, they actually regurgitate food they've eaten so the pups can have "baby food". They also will actually eat the weakest of the pack, pup or not. They pee and poop in order to mark their territory, and no one can make them wait to "go outside for a walk". They often fight viciously to be the leader of the pack. And obviously from story tales, wolves have a huge terrifying "smile" and have a far stronger bite force than a dog's. Yet with all of that, as you wrote, they are gorgeous and magnificent creatures and they should remain wild animals and be allowed to live they way that nature intended.

When it comes to wolves and dogs, you have two choices, you either are perceived as an Alpha, or be very very good submissive. Being perceived as an Alpha is the only safe position. If you choose the submissive it's a dangerous position. If the wolf is licking your mouth it perceives you as the dominant Alpha.

I really don't understand why she doesn't do more American breeds; the breed she does are always like slightly wolf looking. Between the 1830s and the 1920s America produced an incredible number of dogs all of which were incredible dogs. Including the Australian Shepherd which was actually created in the United States sold to Australian farmers and ranchers, and then would go on to become replaced in the United States by the scotch collie not to be confused with the rough collie or border Collie. But rather was a breeding between all of the Scottish Collies, and some other things, in order to create a dog particularly for the United States. The scotch collie what's both a herding dog that would also protect a flock and that would also help track animals. Lassie was quite literally based on it but the television series decided to use a rough collie because it was more attractive, consequently the scotch collie is now endangered critically. What about the Chinook American gentleman's sled dog also the only breed to ever be featured on the front page of the New York times. Also was part of the late American Arctic exploration expeditions.
What about the catahoula leopard dog, Theodore Roosevelt literally use them too hunt out west, mountain lions and bears. They are also hurting dog that herds in a strange way that forms a "dog fence", allowing an individual to move and see the cattle or sheep knowing that they won't flee from them for fear of crossing the dog. To this day they're used in the South to hunt wild pigs, wild pigs being a invasive species that plays an active part in ecological destruction.

The landscape at Wolf Watch is breathtaking! The wolves, of course, are so precious, too.

Sadly at the moment there is a tree massacre going on in the UK. Probably the same in your country too.
From what I've heard it's happening everywhere, which kind of goes against the whole 'save the planet' message we're getting rammed down our throat's at the moment.

God I love what you do...your basically living my dream.
I'm from a poor family and we've come a long way...so hopefully in a few years, I can use my savings till date and start my journey to discover my love for wolves live with wolves, instead of dreaming and watching wolf videos and documentaries ❣️
    Wish me luck guys

Wow this is an amazingly produced video. You should do more like this.
It seems to be very good for the wolves too get “a new toy” aka you haha, at the very least you definitely add some Enrichment to their lives!

Thanks for turning a wild animal into your pet, from now it'll lose it's ability to hunt and look for humans for food.
