You guy's need to check out some footage of the now closed Sydney Showground Speedway (Sydney Royale) now thats sidecar racing, I am bias being an aussie
A workmate who kept getting injured in this kind of racing. It reached the stage were HR said make your mind up. Keep racing or keep your job. The same thing happened to someone who also kept taking time off due to injuries picked up playing squash.
I Watched sidecars at the now defunct Claremont Speedway ,Perth West Australia from 1950,s until the track, 671 yards at pole long straights wide corners closed in 2000, Last 10/15 years were a clay based track for midgets and sprintcars absolutly dangerous for outfits and Solo,s (500cc lightweight bikes),many riders got hurt bad and worse. Brave racers .
well... we did get a first, of sorts, that night.. nobody else has ever taken out the starting tower before, is what I'm told... Lol... racing incident
This is one of the shortest yet most popular track in the country. And it is where all American World Speedway Champions have come from. Thanks for watching! Hope you subscribed.
You can clearly see why Americans don't invite other countries to their events. That was amateur hour crap but they will most likely call themselves world champions.
Hey that’s not true. Short track racing is very technical. Guys that visit from Europe find it challenging. It’s where Hancock learned and had to relearn long track. Our American racers are Champions. Thanks for watching.
What sort of start was first race. Flagman was still on track in front of inside sidecar. That caused crash. Flagman should be fired. I wouldn't be happy either.
Sidecars go around the track in the opposite direction to the solo bikes. All the red and green safety lights around the track are positioned for the solo bikes; so with the sidecars going the opposite way around meant that any starting procedure lights were no good. That is why a flagged start with the start marshal was used. Agree with an earlier comment though; the tiny Costa Mesa track is not the ideal place to be holding 'big' sidecar racing
Good news. A group of racers in Australia are building a replica Costa Mesa Speedway track. True to scale bull ring as the bull ring. They intend to race Speedway And Sidecars. The think it's extremely hard and technical to do and since they can't drive to So. Cal. they are taking So. Cal. to them. Stay tuned.
It's not a joke. It' real racing. This track is the shortest track in the World but it has produced all of America's top Speedway racing champions. Thanks for watching.
FIRST MISTAKE: They need a bigger pole closer to the track. Preferably a pole that has the Game of Thrones swords attached? What idiot puts hazards on the track lol, nice design, lmao...
@@mymodel6 umm try Google yourself... try "speedway sidecar world championship"... didn't start on THIS side of the pond but thanks for watching from the safety of your well-worn computer chair
@@mymodel6Aussie speedway sidecars. Designed to race on much larger, faster tracks. Not sure why they are racing at this track as it doesn’t suit them.
Oh man this is about as exciting as watching a game off chess
As exciting as watching paint dry

Great! Welcome to the channel. Please share with your friends.
The track needs to be much bigger 😎
Like the Isle of Man 🇮🇲
You guy's need to check out some footage of the now closed Sydney Showground Speedway (Sydney Royale) now thats sidecar racing, I am bias being an aussie
Sidecar racing in Australia is way better, that was just painful to watch
Track looks about the right size for RC buggies.
My goodness, the competitors won't last long on the isle of man TT 😂 the course probably chewed them and toss them out
Boyd has run the Isle of Man on both motorcycles and side cars.
A workmate who kept getting injured in this kind of racing. It reached the stage were HR said make your mind up. Keep racing or keep your job. The same thing happened to someone who also kept taking time off due to injuries picked up playing squash.
It’s a tough decision to make but injuries are part of the game. Thanks for watching.
Well done Ken McKinney. You captured all the action.
Yep this sort of track is too small for sidecars
Legendary track? Somebody forgot to put the straights in
Why is the starting gate on the track?
I thought Americans were supposed to things bigger than the rest of the world, this is embarrassing.
Having said that, always appreciate the content.
my first thought was why is the track soo small
This track has always been the same since 1969. Sometimes it’s smaller. Thanks for watching!
Why is the track so short??, my local sidecar track in New Zealand is way bigger, like way bigger, wider and longer and faster
I think it's a 1/8 mile rather than 1/4 mile.
3:58 this dude let go deliberately. No doubts about that. He fell off the bike waaay after the contact.
I think his right hand slipped as momentum basically ripped the bike out of his grasp.
That's some wild stuff
Watching paint dry is more exciting than this. 😂
Great racing. Why are their uniforms so horrendous? Lol
They wear T-shirts etc over their leathers, sponsors, charities and so on
well... we did get a first, of sorts, that night.. nobody else has ever taken out the starting tower before, is what I'm told... Lol... racing incident
Yep never seen that before
Dastardly Races, where’s muttley 😂
Ridiculous race, dorky machines only turning right
It's the strangest form of motorsport I've seen. The track is far too short and narrow for anything
This is one of the shortest yet most popular track in the country. And it is where all American World Speedway Champions have come from. Thanks for watching! Hope you subscribed.
@xsratv I still don't get it.. We have a lot of world championship winners in speedway, and they are going the opposite way on a 1/2 mile tracks.
Why have metal poles on inside of track. Asking for it. This place needs to sort out there track and officials.
That is the starting gate. A lot of tracks have them. Sidecars are as unpredictable as the races. Thanks for watching.
Is that clock or counter clock ?
If you don't know that you should go back to the first grade!
MAIN EVENT: This is not real speedway - IS IT ???? (its flat out being a 100 yards around/lap)
do they get out of 1st gear ???
I can't imagine they would.
I though Costa Mesa was in the USA. Why British or Australian machinery?
Speedway and sidecars bridge the culture gap. It's all good.
looks like racing around a dinner plate - not proper!
It’s technical racing for sure.
Absolute crap come to Australia if you want to see sidecar racing
2mph what is this
Small legendary track in So. Cal.
You can clearly see why Americans don't invite other countries to their events. That was amateur hour crap but they will most likely call themselves world champions.

miss Ascot, this is embarrassing
I have never seen slower sidecar racing in my life 😂😂. Not to mention the least amount of swinger/driver movement ever.
They pack a lot of action into 200 feet of track…
Lol this whole set up is a flop 😅

bit of a joke racing on a track that small, also 2 of those sidecars arent even modern machinery

Sidecar racing in So. Cal. This is the legendary Speedway track where all American champions have come from. See you at the track.
Grass growing is more exciting. Dreadful.
It's a technical track. Thanks for watching.
What a joke!
Great sport for insomniacs. I've had more fun watching paint dry.
That isn't sidecar racing, the is side show entertainment at a circus.
Irgendwie lächerlich 😅
Lol seen faster push bikes.
This is the worst thing ive ever seen😂
Thanks for watching. 😀
😴
is this a joke ? slow motion sidecars on half a track, do people actually pay to watch this crap ?
It's not a joke. It' real racing. This track is the shortest track in the World but it has produced all of America's top Speedway racing champions. Thanks for watching.
This is SO lame.

boaring !
They're not even side cars
If you were on one, you'd know they are. Thanks for watching.
No mate, if you Google side car racing, you'll see actual sidecars, where the passenger is IN the sidecar. This is just some American bullshit...
