Rules of Rocket Science
1: Given enough thrust, anything will fly.
2: If you want it to fly straight, the back end has to want to go slower than the front.
3: Down is easy. "Where" and "How Fast" requires some aforethought.
4: Everything else is minutia.

You would think with all the expertise they could have had an electronically controlled ejection/deployment at apogee. Good thing they have a Bunker for amateur rocketry! Run, duck and cover, especially on that first stage would have received a stink eye and rejection anywhere else.
I guess they figured showing the crash would be "Good TV." That is an old fart term, maybe "Good RUclips content." It was an awesome crash DUDE! Dude, can I do that?
At least it is Slightly better than the old cable shows with flying snowmobiles, outhouses, garden pigs and pedal cars!

I just wanted to let you know, today was one of the lowest days of my life. It’s 2am, I’ve been sat in bed crying for the last hour, when I get the notification for this video. I’ve now spent the last 22 minutes cry laughing instead. Sometimes you inspire me to do things, sometimes you just interest me or make me laugh, and today was one of those days where I really needed a giggle. I watched the shot at 15:12 probably a dozen times with the biggest smile on my face. The yellow glow of ignition against a desert covered in dusk, the slow motion, the music; that was the best 3 or 4 seconds of rocket footage I've seen since two dragons landed side by side.

The slight tail-down attitude means that the only thing that made the tree fly straight was the acceleration bending the branches back. Coming back down the center of drag was absolutely in front of the center of mass.

You guys had to have filmed this in early December since it got cold in the western Mojave these past few weeks! I've been doing geophysics work in the Mojave (near Cali City) since October and would have love to have seen this, looks like you all had a great time making this happen. This was an amazing project. But I wanted to take the time to thank you for supporting a great cause. My older brother took his own life 7 years ago this month. Getting people help when there at their lowest is really important and means a lot to the families who have been effected.
Ohhhhh my god that camera shot at 15:10 made my entire year how is it sooo good, like, you see the rocket motor light up such a huge area and slowly lift off why is it so satisfying aaaaa
