That’s hand to hand transactions, people coming out the house, out the state, coming out of pocket and paying cash to support and grow a movement you fuck with that heavy.
It’s interesting to think about what the rap scene would look like if the last 15 years of music and waves around it (ASAP, Raider Klan, Pop Smoke/Brooklyn Drill, Odd Future, Members Only, etc.) played out and got made in theory and talk of it could be spread online but was only accessible in one spot local to each scene/crew. What would have gained motion if the only way for people to get their hands on the music was in person support and cash purchases of physical copies? Basically replicating what it was like to get the new Screw tape back in the day but with movements we now know and the internet to spread growth and interest.
