Look, I'm not even from Houston, but to me, DJ screw came from a small town that had zero opportunity, came from a hard working family (shoutout poppa screw), and with nothing but a turntable and a genius ear literally turned nothing into something. The man believed in himself and got so many boys off the streets who would've either end up in dead or in prison, and pushed them to come out with the hottest and craziest flows and freestyles the world as ever seen, to create the signature H town sound. Self made, when you hear screw you KNOW it's screw. He innovated his own sound, there is only one screw there will never be another. I've paid so much getting screw tapes and CDs and records to Montreal just because of how much he means to me.
