When I think of melodic death metal, I always think of early In Flames, At the Gates, Amon Amarth, all of those bands. Almost all of the great ones are European/Australian. Hard to categorize TBDM. Too much of a melodic sound for deathcore, and not straight death metal. Not sure what genre they really fit into honestly haha.

After listening to just half the album I can anticipate it's the best they have ever released and the heaviest. It's heavy, dark and intelligent, I wish other melodeath bands like Amon Amarth could be this heavy. Purchase this thing right now people, won't disappoint.
A little late to TBDM but am totally in love with their riffs - perfect to get into metal bass, oh so fun to play at keeps you busy!

A story about a barren (infertile) woman who prayed to god to bear a child to no avail. She comes across a car accident and finds a 9 month pregnant woman, carves the child out of her womb and keeps it as her own. Beautifully written. TBDM never disappoints with their grisly story telling. Trevor, udaman.

Not gonna lie, I like the sound of this album ALOT better than Abysmal already. I'm hella stoked!!
Really? This is nowhere near as intricate or melodic as Abysmal was, that was my favorite TBDM album. This isn't bad by any means, it's still damn good and the riffage is groovy as hell but it's not the supremely melodious ear candy that Abysmal was, Abysmal really put the Melodic in Melodic Death Metal. I'm still looking forward to hearing the rest of this album though.

where did I say that I'd written off the whole album? This is still good and I'm looking forward to hearing the rest of it. And generally the teaser singles are supposed to be indicative of the direction the album is gonna take. Abysmal had me hooked right off the bat with the first two songs they put out on youtube leading up to it. I'm not trash talking them, I'm just saying I really liked the last album and will be mildly disappointed if they change to a less melodic direction.
alexander simmons I don't because they are going in order, it kinda rested when the made everblack, it goes excluding unhallowed: melodic(miasma and notcurnal) technical and core(deflorate and ritual). So I'm guessing like abysmal was a melodic heavy album, this album will be more technical-core like

Trivium's new album is looking to be a toss up, Children of Bodom's last album was pretty iffy. All That Remains has gone to shit. Avenged Sevenfold is not what they used to be. Darkest Hour's last album, if it was consistent with the music videos that accompanied it, was crap. I never really got into In Flames but people are saying they sold out. Idk. A lot of the bands I have liked just seem to have put themselves out to pasture. It just feels like the metal genre as a whole has lost some of the animalistic, "I don't give a shit what you think" energy it used to have.
