I grew up in draycott. The station has been brilliantly preserved by owners who live there. Even still has the signal box. Pub opposite is called the Strawberry special. Named after the train that used to pick up all the locally grown strawberries. A wonderful era sadly gone. The last train went through draycott in 1969.
Awsome, loved this, coming from the area, i am really interested in this local line and even more so in the Wrington Vale Light Railway that was a branch line off of the Congresbury Junction. great content and so well put together. thank you!
The Cheddar Valley line later became known as the Strawberry Line due to passing farms where strawberries were grown and goods trains collected them for markets.
Many, many thanks for continuing this amazing series of videos. The work you must put in is simply exceptional and I see using your own music compositions which may be simple but do the job well. Please, please keep up the incredible work with many more.
Thanks! I try to add a new one every couple of weeks. I run another channel that takes up most of my time here: ruclips.net/channel/UCBwaPDD5GCcDeU5BlN2NnQw
