My all-time favorite by Joe.
Joes made a whole 46 year career out of playing solo guitar, which is quite remarkable to say the least, he was Steve Vai's guitar teacher for some time too.....great reaction thanks👍
Try Satch Boogie and Crying by Joe. Especially Crying if you want emotion. Not that anyone else cares but I'd rank Joe with the top guitarists known.
Check out his song If I Could Fly. Kicks ass! Possibly my favorite by him. Coldplay liked it so much, they ripped it off for their vastly inferior Viva la Vida.
Satriani is the best! Instrumental guitar virtuosity in the highest caliber! It's all about mass popularity who makes the ranking on the guitarists lists you mentioned Bizmatic.
just random list, i always look up the greatest guitarist of the 70s or random stuff like that
Joe doesn't need to sing. His guitar says it all.
This makes even more sense when you hear him sing. 😬
You’re talking about Steve Vai 🎸
There was a time when “Satch “ was Vai’s guitar teacher 👍
Yes I was
I think maybe that solo instrumental artists don't get as much fan base somehow. I saw Joe perform once, and his show was unbelievable. Those guys don't come down to who is better, I think a lot is personal preference. He's just not as famous as some of the other more flamboyant guitarists. He's world class though. Great song, thanks.
No contest, Satriani is the best. Don't get me wrong, those others you mentioned (along with many more) were & are inhumanly great. It's just that I believe that anytime he wanted, Satriani could do anything that they could on a guitar, and still raise the bar a few levels beyond them.
I think he doesn't get mentioned often because of the lack of lyrics. I have rarely ever heard him on the radio because of that. Although, he has filled in & guested in many more traditional bands over the year, but he relaxes and takes a back seat to the singer.
Hey, do you know Duncan Brown. No? Nobody does. He had one hIt and died. Take me to the wild places. I danced on it when I was a little girl. The extended version. Then he died
Biz, a couple of songs to check out, “is there love in space”, “satch boogie”, “until we say goodbye”.
Joe is underappreciated. He was also a teacher. Steve Vai was a student so were Kirk Hammet of Metallica and many other famous guitarists. He is out touring with Sammy Hagar doing a Van Halen tribute this summer. Fabulous stuff Biz.
To be fair - Steve Vai was but only a beginner when he began taking lessons with Satriani. He didn’t develop into the caliber player he eventually grew to become under Joe’s tutelage. Making use of the title of teacher - as a young teen - is a bit lofty. My buddy who was in a progressive band with Vai’s next door neighbor (year’s later) John. As a teen, John was taking lessons with Joe and had then suggested Joe to Vai
Vai has been vocally appreciative of his experience with Joe, and Steve wasn't the only player to work with Joe and then go onto great things. I wouldn't dismiss Joe's influence just because of Steve.
Eric Johnson and Joe satriani get left off lists because they didn't have the "fame"
Thank you. How nice to just sit back and listen to someone who simply excels at his craft.
Excelent job...
Another great song by Joe in a similar style is Rubina off his first solo album Not Of This Earth..
Beautiful beyond comprehension
When you play this good lyrics aren’t necessary
Guitar teacher to Steve Vai and Kurt Hamet of Metalica.
You want to hear some fire do satch boggie from the same album
Joe wrote this for his lovely wife.. I had the chance to meet him and he is a total gentleman
I have to look you up. I’m subscribed but they never send you my way. Damn yt❤
Yeah That happens alot lol
Great guitarists
This song is so beautiful...Joe doing "Andalucía" (live version) is a little like this. He just kills it...even more so than this...truly one of the most savage guitar songs ever and still so beautiful. A second thing to look up is a band called I Mother Earth...Canadian WAAAY underrated...have a song called "So Gently We Go" that is very much like this song. Their entire first album "Dig" is one of the most underrated rock albums in history.
❤️❤️❤️ I absolutely love this! Joe could make a guitar cry.
5:19 Steve Vai?
Yes
Steve Vai?
yup
You ought to have done a live version of this to appreciate how good he is.
I Appreciate how good he is already, but live would be amazing
@@watchbizmatik yeah that is a great track live.
