Let's Dry Flowers using a Microwave!

- Hello and welcome, my crafting friends. So good to see you here.
Today I would like to show you the process for drying my wildflowers, using dear Hilda's Microwave method that she shared in my FB group.
It is so easy and quick and just perfect for making all sorts of things from journal ephemera and cards. So come and follow along with me.

I love these wildflowers!! The way you did the dried flowers is a great idea!! When I was in Scotland 🏴, I wanted to see a thistle so bad but never did. Angela, you really seem to have a magical touch with flowers. I live in the country where there are lots of wildflowers...all colors. I'm going to try drying some. My mother pressed flowers in books when I was a little girl and I always thought it was a fascinating way to save flowers. Thank you so much for the tutorial and yes, I'd love to see how you did the flower card at the end!

I absolutely love this, Angela. I used to dry flowers in books for my card making years ago. I'm definitely going to try this in the microwave and use the slides in my cardmaking. Great idea. I guess what you call thistle is actually clover. It looks like soft baby thistle. 😀

You have made such a lovely idea into something I can easily make! Hooray for you! I use double stick tape around the edge of the "windows" and do not have to worry about the glue problem.

I have a microwave flower press that I ADORE but it is pricey. I was thrilled to see there is a FREE way to get the same results!!! What a brilliant technique, thank you for sharing it with us. Regards to Hilda for sharing the info. in your group. Well done!!!

This is awesome, it will save so much time waiting for them to dry, especially when u want to do a project straight away, and it doesn’t matter if u mess up because u just start again and u haven’t wasted 3 weeks x tfs this awesome technique xx

Can't wait to try this. Here in Central Texas it is reaching 100 + every day so will have to see if anything is blooming in early morning. I will try to not get impatient and let my glue dry before I sew. Fun to do a project when I have the supplies on hand. Well I don't have the wildflower paper I don't think but that is an easy click away! Thank you.

I use felt and cotton flour sack towels to save on paper towels and have some results. I am as frugal as possible (cheap, I can admit it) 🤣

Angela, I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I will definitely try to dry some flowers using this method. I am intrigued by where you must walk. The tiny wildflowers certainly are not in my neighborhood… lol. This is one of the prettiest ideas that I have seen. Thank you for sharing. I will watch the card next. Will your dog make a cameo please. My fur baby is by my side at all times.

Looks beautiful Angela, this was something we use to do as kids during school holidays when we were young, I’m sure mum just wanted us to pick all the flowering weeds from the garden 😉 but it was lots of fun. We used either books or the oven on very low, we learnt that the hard way 😂 Thank you for sharing my dear friend 🤗❤️
