Loving all the stuff the Airtime Pro team do to make starting an online station easy! Now it's time to start broadcasting live 😀
I Want To Continue my Passion in Broadcasting but i am lack of equipments😭
Hi Mike. Based in the UAE, just wanted to know can I base my URL in the UK for example, or does it have to be based on your IP Address?
Do artist still receive streams if I play their music? Are the streams reported pretty much
I caint find my station i.d
Hello Mike, Please if you don't mind can i reach you in person to get more information from you?
Nice 👍 Regardless of who you're broadcasting with, guides like this are awesome. Keep up the good work Mike 😃
Thanks. Keep up your good work too
@@MikeRussell hello mike…how do I knw what my audience are listening to ? How can listeners connect to my station ? No videos shows that part of which is important.
How do you do it with a console for example a denon or pioneer so you can mix ?
Well it is nice but a little pricy. I am running a full station under control with free software. ( No not hacked or with keys, realy free ) and including the stream, licenses for the music and webpage for just under €100 a month. And with more bandwidth, higher bitrates and so on. It's sad that Sourcefabric doesn't update the Airtime software anymore. Yes there are some things you have to keep in mind for example the computer but my old QuadCore is running for 5 years now with only an HDD replacement and some dust cleaning now and then. But when starting a station, and you should have said that too, you need to have music licenses so you can play the music on your stream.
can i ask from which company because im looking for good company with alot of featuring and good quality thanks
THANK YOU FREErun MEDIA! NEEDED THIS ACCURATE INFORMATION!! THANK YOU!!
Thx but how do you get a licenses
Can you provide a few detail on the cost of licensing to play an artist music?
How much does it cost you monthly
I have had thought of doing an online radio show, maybe once a week. I may look into this....
Good luck 🤞
Thank you! Learned a lot in these few minutes!
👍
nice
Excellent informative instructions as always. I have been broadcast streaming my radio station for about 5 years with another streaming company but Airtime looks very good. The only disclaimer I would have added is that if you broadcast copyrighted music or shows you have to pay Big Brother who will take you to court if you don't pay up. If you pay the one agency the two or three others come out of the woodwork and want their cut.
What platform do you use?
I use RadioDJ and found it to have a bit of a learning curve with little instructions. What an enjoyable experience and due to the money vultures I might have to shut down my physical FM station and change it from Southern Gospel music to talk show and informational programing. I also don't advertise except for concerts in the US.
@@snapshot6289 interesting! God bless u my friend. I’m brainstorming a gospel centered station as well with a variety of content from talk segments to music etc
Thank you Perry for information about copyrights, bc he didn't mention that important factor in video. You're awesome!
How do you smoothly interrupt a playlist to start a live?
Hello, what can I use to start my live internet radio? I have a MacBook Pro & iPhone 13. I want to play music and talk in between each song without the 10 second delay as I talk?????? What can I broadcast services should I use to do that🤔🤔🤔🤔💭
Do you know how I can integrate this with a website like wordpress
Definitely a great idea that I could have a friend maybe to help me with this....I love music and I may have found a new hobby or PR rep sharing my new bands and musicians with my good friends.
Top tip, make sure you have the appropriate licenses before you broadcast if you’re planning on playing any copyright protected music.
Did you get someone to help you? I could do it with you.
Could this be a solution to hosting a live event, using the radio as a mic, and asking an audience to each bring a speaker??
Great video! Thank you!
Thank you
Hi Mike! Do you interview/promote new singers?
Thank you Mike
👌
Anyone know how to get your radio station online Apple Music?
Thanks mike ,really its very useful👍
👌
HI Mike Happy New Year, I would like to start my own show, but have no clue how too, and what I need as in equipment and well, other things?
You can make your radio station as simple or as complicated as you want.
Awesome! If I started my own station, how would I be able to do a simple live show, no music to play but just do a simple sports talk, do sports recaps, updates, upcoming games etc. I have expertise in sports and a simple setup, USB microphone for quality recording, and software for recording audio casts to post online.
There are many ways to broadcast either live or automated
Hi Mike Russel... I want to put my radio station on line but I need to know what is the equipment I need to go pro with the streaming. I am talking about que equipment like Mics, Computer and whate else do I need.?
Your equipment depends on what you want from your radio station.
Thanks for that info, but can I start with onily my laptop and microphone, just the simple way for a biggner.
I would realy appreciate your answer and recommendation 👍.
Thanks is advance
You can stream from your laptop to the host but I would suggest you'd need a mixer to stream if you want to mix voice and music.
Amazing
Never having some this before how do you then know where your broadcasting to.
If I wanted to share it were do I look ?!
Hi, internet radio broadcasts globally. Some hosts can geo-fence your stream. The link for people to listen will be available in the control panel.
Great tutorial... But in the signup page.. what am I suppose to put in the "stationid" field, I can't advance withought filling it out?
Nevermind, figured it out. But... I would like to know, how will people find me radio stream?
My radio stream*
That'll be in the URL of your radio station which is created by Airtime Pro.
Hi, Marc from Belgium, I would like to use this piece of software, not for live shows, but for shows, for example on Saturday and Sunday, I understand how you could plan such radio shows, but what do listeners have to do or where do they have to go to listen to these shows, is there a certain URL they should open, I guess so, but you do not mention that in your clip, so I was curious... please advise, best regards, Marc D.
To listen to the radio shows, viewers would need to tune in to a specific URL or frequency where the station is broadcasting.
I know you have a studio tour video already but would you be interested in making another updated one?
Here's the latest video for you ruclips.net/video/XC3Q4JXowHQ/видео.html
Can you use spotify as to conected tothe library to the radio library?
No, Spotify cannot directly connect to your radio library.
What if I want to have a setup where I can play vinyl and such? I'm not wanting to broadcast, just want to record little shows for fun.
For vinyl playback and recording shows for fun, consider getting a turntable with a USB output for digitization, connect it to your computer, and use software like Audacity or Adobe Audition for recording and editing!
This is the coolest video
Thanks George
hello....i am adding a show to my station on the calendar, but as i do that it indicates the duration does not match...what am i doing wrong ....please help !
This one is a question for Airtime Pro
I want to broadcast music AND voice. How is that possible?
Cause I cannot find this option in Help section at Airtime personal page. The options under the "I don't have a broadcasting software" option are: 1)I'm broadcasting my voice,2)I'm DJing
The easiest way to do this is with playout software. There are free and paid options for that. You’d want to run your playout software into a mixer together with your mic and then stream the output from your mixer. There are free and paid options for streaming as well.
I'm in the states how do I go about doing a live internet radio talk station, something like a podcast but live. what about the license music as well
Check out good work folks at Airtime Pro do!
very promising! what about the royalties for the songs? do we have to pay to play the songs?
Goes without saying you'll be responsible for ensuring you have the appropriate licensing in place before you stream.
When i broadcast, i can't hear what song is playing. How can i hear the same trough my headset as what's on the live
You need to enable "monitor" or "cue" output in your broadcast software to hear exactly what is going out live.
When it comes to playing music- What type of licencing and permissions do you need?
To play music on your internet radio station, you will typically need licenses such as public performance rights from organizations like ASCAP, BMI, or SESAC, as well as permission from the artists or copyright holders themselves.
Noticed that you uploaded mp3 files. Wouldn't it be better to use something lossless, like Wav or Flac for higher audio quality? Thanks for sharing great content.
Thank you for your feedback! While using WAV or FLAC files can offer higher audio quality, for quick and easy broadcasting online, MP3 files are generally more efficient and widely compatible across different platforms.
I like this. I would like to know more about Airtime pro. can you give more info on this please
Hi David, if you click the link you’ll find all the info you need to get started.
Hey, I'm thinking of using this however I have a question,
How do you get the songs? Do people like.. send them to you? I'm a bit confused.
Getting the tunes is down to you. As a start up station you'll be unlikely to get songs sent to you so you'll have to go out and buy the music library. There are a number of resources which supply music libraries for radio station.
@@MikeRussell Thank you for the help, I appreciate it!
@@MikeRussell - Can you tell me which music libraries I need to get in touch with. Thanks
This is amazing! What are the issues you have with starting a radio show?
There are no issues that can't be overcome
@@MikeRussell this is a good point! I'm curious also about what other content creators may struggle with hence why I asked the question! Amazing stuff Mike!
where can a find a free radio service that allow to upload any songs and stream the playlist like a radio with an url and once there at least one listener everybody joining afterward would listen the same thing?
I'd suggest checking our AirTime pro as your provider and make sure you are properly licensed before you broadcast if the songs are subject to copyright.
Hi Mike I have set it all up but no sound is coming through. How do i fix this?
Hi. I would recommend that you join our community and provide a detailed description so you can get some help community.musicradiocreative.com/
Hello Mike I'm getting a audio device error can you tell me why?

Hi Mike
What Microphone are you using in this vid ??
Thanks 🙏
You can find all the studio equipment here mrc.fm/equipment
How about the music like music of Adelle, Shawn Mendes, Justin Bieber, etc? Do they need to have a music licensing?
You will need the relevant licenses for the location you're based in before starting to stream.
I try to stream the show I created with the rocket software but all I hear is a flicker of static notice every 5 seconds or so. Is there something I am missing because this is frustrating me.
Is this recorded in your show or originating from the stream?
@@MikeRussell The live stream of my current playing station
Hey Mike. Just got a quick question. If I were to purchase the Website Lifetime package. Will I still be able to play music while I am offline or be able to share my Website onto my Facebook page? Thanks
Hi Charleston, Airtime Pro can probably answer questions on their packages better than I so might be worth getting in touch with them direct.
Can you use this if your using mixcloud as your streaming software
Mixcloud is a streaming platform, you would still need streaming software to connect to Mixcloud but if you use this you would not need Mixcloud.
What about playing other people’s music like common music that is heard on normal radio shows and copyright and licenses?
You would need the relevant licenses for wherever you are based. In the UK that would be PRS and PPL. Without that you can broadcast non copyright material only.
I saw another company like this but they never responded to my question of how do I get 70’s R&B music to play on my station . Do I use Spotify or Apple Music?
Hi Kevin, there are specialist companies who can supply music libraries for radio stations in high quality format. You have the choice of the era or genre when you buy from these companies and it ensures you have broadcast quality music. Good luck with your station
Mike Russell , thanks I’ll check that out
👍
Hey mike. How do I access the control panel?
Just click the link in the description and log in
Hii mike, how can i know how many listeners are listening to my broadcast right now?
These details will be available in your control panel.
nice!
🙏
Sorry sir. where can i get the airtime pro software?
Just click the link in the description
Any way to use Spotify on RUclips Music Links
Unsure about the meaning of this. Please elaborate!
Good video, if a little rushed Mike. How do you get listeners though?
Hi, that's bit is totally down to you on marketing and promotion. Some people have been very successful with their internet radio stations.
@@MikeRussell I guess a better way to put that question is.. is it possible to interface with your Facebook live broadcast or RUclips live for instance? That way the listeners could be instantly notified when the host is online on live dj mode . Thanks for ur good content
I dig that!…
I just want to get my radio station up and going lol is that too much to ask for I hope you can help
Not too bad pricing. ok carry on
Mike t y for your help I want to know if I could start step by step. I am 77 years old and I am
disable Vietnam Veteran. Then main reason why I want to start this radio station is because
there are real bad things happening with the domestic violance act where I live, at Duval county Jacksonville Florida. I am sure that other people have gone through the same thing
and don't have voice. I was a public advocate and criminal investigator with the public defender's office in the state of New Jersey. Thanks for your time . Angel Santiago
Hi Angel! Starting a radio station is possible step by step, but it can be complicated. You'll need to do some research to determine what kind of station you want and what your audience is. Then, you'll have to sort out the technical side of things, like getting licenses and equipment. You might also want to reach out to organizations in your community that are working to combat domestic violence. They could provide support and resources. Finally, it would be helpful to connect with other radio station owners and operators to learn from their experiences. It might be challenging, but it's definitely rewarding. Good luck! Here's some writing I did on steps I followed before: producer.musicradiocreative.com/start-an-internet-radio-station-fast-podcast-episode-16/
Gotta question Mike, what do we do about licensing if we want to play copyrighted music on our station?
Hi Javid, the answer to your question depends on where in the world you are. In the UK you would need PRS and PPL licensing to cover you to play copyrighted music. Contact your stream provider or local licensing authority if you're DAB or FM to check what licensing you need elsewhere around the world.
@@MikeRussell Thanks for your reply and useful information. I am US based. What about content for the website and App? after all the licensing, where do we get our hands on quality to 40 music videos and such?
Question, where do I get the music to start my station?
You can source music for your internet radio station from royalty free music libraries, music licensing platforms, or by reaching out to independent artists for permission to use their music in your broadcasts!
Hi Mike!! Can i add a chat panel so i can chat with listeners on line??
Hi, you could do that on your website.
When you go live can I do like a talk show instead of music ?
Yes you can.
i want to simulcast quadraphonic. - can i sync up two radio stations easily - I see you can schedule so presumably I could schedule two stations to start at the same time, thereby broadcasting both stereo streams of a quadraphonic file
Simulcasting quadraphonic audio can be a bit complex but it's achievable. You'll need to carefully synchronize the broadcast of your audio across both radio stations to maintain the spatial effect. It may be beyond the scope of the software I mention here.
my quad is fairly discrete, so two stereo systems should work if the sequencing is right@@MikeRussell
What about royalty payments? How are they handled with this? I’m in the U.S.
Thanks
you would need to get licensed , here in the UK we have to sign up to two organisations PPL and PRS music to be legal playing copyrighted music main stream. Of course if you dont stream mainstream music , then you can get agreement from unsigned artists to play there music!
Let me know how this goes and good luck!
I thought you only had to get licensed if you plan on making a profit from the music?
Thanks for clearing this up for the OP
Your safest option is to contact the host you are going to use for advice here. Radio Lichfield UK explains the process in the UK but it's different all around the world.
Mike tell me even airtym pro got free plan start the internet radio??
The free plan is a time limited trial. If you’re serious about running a station you’d need to select one of the full plans.
@@MikeRussell ok thanks
how much does it cost after the free trail? Also how do you make a mp3 file, i am so lost 😭
There are pricing plans availalbe depending on your needs.
How are you able to listen to the live music that is playing from your show?
Yes you can
@@MikeRussell hi, thank you for your response, does this also work on a MacBook?
At it's most basic level yes but if you want to use automation software to run a proper radio station you'll find you options severely limited on the Mac platform.
hello ,what i dont understand is when you say the software for the radio is trial software ,meaning when the trial date is finish you will not be able to broadcast, i might be correct is that right?
When you sign up to a full package you will be able to broadcast uninterrupted.
@@MikeRussell how to sign up and what is needed in order to broadcast uninterrupted?
@@MikeRussell how to sign up and what is needed in order to broadcast uninterrupted?
Follow the instructions to create an account 👍
@@MikeRussell thanks,,is it possible not to upload music always on the software and play the music on the cd player direct to online broadcasting and even talk to listeners while everything is connected controlled using mixer ?
that's the type of broadcasting i want to do it ,, please if possible please give me short brief on what im gonna need after sign up,,thank you
So how do you stay out of trouble with copyrighted music? Is there a fee to cover that or are we on our own?
Great question! In the case of copyrighted music, it's important to obtain proper licenses for broadcasting. You'll need to navigate the process of obtaining licenses directly with the copyright holders or through performance rights organisations.
is there a way to do it on a mobile device or an android tablet?
Possibly but definitely not if you’re striving for a professional sounding station.
Filled in all the boxes and airtimepro wouldn't let me in. Tried several times. Don't get it.
Drop their support a message and I'm sure they'll help
What happens when the free trial runs out? It just take your money? (Sorry for bad English)
You can always cancel before the trial expires.
how do i connect my mic though ???
There are many different ways to connect your mic depending on what you’re looking to achieve.
Where I can hear this radio...I download....did as u mention...but where is radio...🤗
This is for you to setup a radio station on the internet
whats station id in the singup place?
You’ll get given your details when you create your account.
Woah, I like the sound of your mic. What model is it? :)
It's the AKG C414 XL II
@@MikeRussell Thanks Mike!
Mike, how would a person knows that you are live? Can you not do some sort of test?
Radio station testing would be done before launch. Most stations both regular radio and internet radio do run test broadcasts before they launch to test their transmission / streams and also their automation and hardware.
Once you're live, you're live 24/7 and anyone with the stream link can listen in.
what equipment is necessary to star ?
Totally depends on how you want to run your station. The one thing this is necessary BEFORE streaming is correct licensing.
Mike I wan to start I am now going to buy my desktop
I have lp that I would download some on here to play I can do that correc
Make sure you have the correct license(s) before you start playing copyright music
@@MikeRussell so i get my music from my records and cd or spotify
You’ll still need to be licensed to play copyright music on the internet.
what is the equipment needed
It can be as simple as you want and totally depends on what you want to do and how good you want to sound
Ayeee my friends
Ayeee friends, welcome!
Great but how/where can the peaople hear what I'm playing 😅 Regards
After setting up your internet radio station, you can provide listeners with a streaming link or embed a player on your website or social media platforms so they can easily tune in and enjoy your broadcasts!
can people with mobiles listen to me talk on my live radio shows
You can add your streaming link to your website or a number of radio directories
dowm for maintinacen??? :D not very relayeble... what if youneed to be there???
Don't worry, with proper scheduling and backup plans in place, you can ensure your internet radio station remains reliable even during maintenance periods!
i tried to signup and got stopped with the first bit if signup brain strain before I got past the little box
it asks for a station ID name and then says something undeciperable about URL. What URL?
This would be a question for AirTime Pro's support team
Hello .. so how do I.. hit me up please.
I love you my mike Russell buddy.
🙏 😆
Now lets say u don't have all the music files that u want to have in your radio playlist...is there somewhere I can pull from...or would I have to go out n buy these artists' cd's? Because if that's the case I'm out Lol
AirTimePro provide you the streaming platform, it's your responsibility to provide both the music and the correct licensing to cover your playing of the music.
There are companies that sell hard drivers with complete radio music libraries on which may help you.

Yes, there are so many apps that can possibly help.
@@MikeRussell i was thinking of amp by Amazon but it’s no more! I just want to host my own radio show and play music I figure licensing would get in the way
Do I need a FCC license to do this?
You will need the appropriate licenses for your region before beginning streaming.
Can I touch base with you personally. I'd like to start a radio station with business shows and with music. Where would I get the music from?
There are companies that provide entire music libraries. Usually you order a hard drive with the library you want on ready to import to your playout system.
@@MikeRussell - Can you provide some details about this?
There are many different suppliers, it's not something I've personally done to be able to recommend any supplier above another.
