Oh, I forgot this. If you ever are so fortunate as to be drenched by geyser spray (please stay on the boardwalks!: see how Belgian Spring got its name😉) and photograph or video it, IMMEDIATELY wipe off glasses, cameras, camera lenses, etc. if you do not want to take home an unwanted and permanent memento of your experience. The warm, silica-rich spray from the geyser will quickly dry on any surface and will be almost impossible to remove once dry. Ask me how I know....😉
The human sounds are just as much of the human experience of Yellowstone NP as any other. The excitement and surprise of being present at an awesome event like an eruption of Beehive is so joyful! How can you not cheer? Our earth is so wonderful!
We were on a ranger-lead walk which included a very obnoxious kid. Stopped in front of beehive to discuss its history when obnoxious kid asked what the little spurt was. It was beehive’s indicator! Kid made up for his irritating way that day, and we got to witness beehive erupt!!
It’s amazing how loud this geyser is. My first experience of its eruption happened early one morning when I was staying in the Inn. I heard the sound of rushing water and wondered what it was. By the time I got to a window facing that part of the basin, all that was left of the eruption was the final steam. Still one of mt strongest Yellowstone memories.
Beehive is cool for a number of reasons. It is like 3 times higher than Old Faithful and is in the same clearing as Old Faithful. If you have been around long enough and often enough, you may just be lucky enough to see both geysers erupt at the same time. Been there. Done that.
If you look closely you can see that the geyser has a second, far smaller vent about a metre away from the main one. as it doesn't start at the same time as the main geyser, it may be completely separate, in which case, visitors here get two for the price of one!
@@robertl4824 Yes, there might be some connection to the beehive system as you say. I visited a Geothermal park in early December last year (not the USA, and part of a longer trip). The park had a geyser that erupted every 20 minutes or so... andsome metres away was a hot spring in a geothermal pool that bubbled up at the exact same moment, and was active for the same length of time. I asked the visitor centre attendant about it, and he confirmed that the two shared the same water circulation system, and that he had never seen one erupt without the other erupting at the same time.
I cant even see the humans and i can hear the peoples reactions as they get sprayed with the geyser water! 😂 I watch the old faithful roof camera often and its so funny to watch them scramble out of the way when Beehive starts. I could hear its low rumble from my room in the Old Faithful Inn too in the early mornings
What a magical place. My mom and sisters and I took a road trip there from Portland OR in the early 70s. I still have the photos - one is a blurry black-and-white photo of a black bear approaching my car window before I quickly rolled it up. We knew it was not good to feed the bears even back then. 🐻🤎

No. Enjoying life. Try it.
@wawabbit I love Mother Nature and her beauties. Little people showing off their big mouthed ignorance, no thanks.
@@ZYX261then don’t visit Yellowstone since you’ll never enjoy it
@spdyjake HA! Somebody doesn't recognize the view of Lower Falls from Artist Point. I travel off-season to avoid ill-mannered louts.
Looks like a mini one beside it! 😊
Beehive's Indicator usually erupts before Beehive

Sounds like a jet engine.

Imperial Geyser might be a good place for another Sounds of Yellowstone video!
Beehive is my all-time favorite geyser in YS.
Beehive geyser is spectacular to watch from Geyser Hill
1:06 Most insightful thing I've ever heard about geysers.
"The water was wet, too! Man!" LOL
that means they are civilians.

not completely separate as it usually indicates when Beehive is about to erupt

😮 That's alot of pressure coming out.
Nothing compared to when I tried molé sauce for the first ( and only) time
Nice!🙃
Come on yellow stone pop!
What is the temperature of the water when it comes out? I would have thought the people would be scalded.
I usually complain about vertical videos but this is one instance where it should be vertical.

The guy who says the water was wet........🤣
Lol they said the water is wet too. 🤔 The only words aren't good...
Oh look people, Earth has a zit and it's full of water! lol
I wish NASA would invent a windless microphone.
Is this an omen?
NO, it erupts once or twice a day
1:06 "the water was wet too" 😆
Scary? What's to come?
Could you place the equipment away from the loudmouthed people?
there’s so many people there, there’s no way to avoid people being loud.
@spdyjake The nps website asks people to silently enjoy these national treasures. It's a time to tune into nature.

Poor you.

Agreed. Noise pollution should stay in the city.
Heaven forbid people enjoy themselves.
