Very nice, could you have extended the screw thread valve all the way to the hole in the bottom? Why did you weld a round section to the short screw thread instead?

Where did you find the build info for this pot?

Hi , wondering what your using the ingots for? I make patterns for various types of lead, zinc and tin alloys made from cast iron. Most customers use a ladle to dip and pour the alloys.

How much difference does the aluminum shield make? I’m looking to improve my current setup. I really like the spout setup too

It helps in the colder weather. I was unable get the temp hot enough without it. Same with the top cover. Also helps save on fuel. Thanks.

eBay, Rotometals.com, local newspaper ads. (I'm pretty much done now.)
Also, here is a good video to check out - ruclips.net/video/p4KmaXfoIKE/видео.html

What size are your ingot molds?

Molds were made from 3" steel channel and I think 2-1/2" angle.
Inside dimensions are 5-3/8" measured at top and 5-3/16" at bottom. This gives a 3/32" draft on both ends for ease of release.
I stop the pour about 3/16" to 1/4" from the top. Depending on the alloy used, this gives about a 5 pound Ingot. With a little practice I can get pretty consistent. The ingots that come out too light or too heavy are put back in the pot to try again. I think if you filled them to the top, that they can be 6 pounds or more.
