I have been a visitor to the Philippines mant times as a tourist. On a grassroots level...in almost every town and city people willing litter and the rubbish removal systems are totally inadequate to being non existent. Prosperity from tourism will require locals to start valuing thier own environment.

I enjoyed the video. I do have one issue with some thing that was said though. I’ve lived in Dubai for over eight years now, and Dubai is not a sustainable city. Its structures are built without regard to the environment, and in a short period of time it has already outgrown its infrastructure.

It's not sustainable because it's originally a sea--Dubai. It's a reclamation, and thus, flooded. This is what Filipino environmentalists are warning about, the effect of creating lands out of sea or ocean. In the case of Manila reclamations, ( a grand city is gonna rise again) the reclaimed lands are the boundaries of the city of Manila which hasn't seen that much ill effect, since the 1960s? Or 70s when Manila seas were reclaimed and turned into Cultural Center of the Philippines, Folk Arts Theatre, and others. While, Dubai was a body of water in the middle of the ocean. The floods in Manila are caused by lack of drainage, and those are now being looked into.

Madadaanan mo talaga ang San Vicente from Puerto Princesa. Sikat lang talaga ang El Nido at ang Coron, kaya hindi napupuntahan ang San Vicente. The Ayala Group of Companies see the potential of San Vicente, kaya malaki ang investment nila in the long terms. Kaya nagtayo sila ng exclusive private airport and resorts. They're hoping more investments to capitalize San Vicente as a potential hub for Palawan. Local and Palawan government should strict, protect and implement proper designs, to make it modern at the same time aesthetic to the natural world of San Vicente, and Palawan's biodiversity. Palawan is a perfect island to invests in properties, land, hotels, resorts and logistics, kasi right next to the South China Sea lang siya, and can transport goods to and pro of Philippines, Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.

The thing that SV has going for it is the fact that it's not busy. Once it gets as busy as Boracay it will loose it's appeal. There are lots of places with many resorts and the Philippines doesn't need another one. If people go to Palawan, it's to El Nido for a few days of island hopping. SV is different - it's just a beach and very quiet, too quiet for most people. Putting a lot of resorts there won't attract a lot of people, as they already have El Nido, Bohol, Boracay. I hope that SV doesn't develop and loose it's appeal.

Philippines has no talent of developing its island beachfront. The selling of a beach resort is the wide beachfront, but greedy operators are blocking the beachfront to have its exclusivity. We have pretty and descent beaches but lacks knowledge how to developed it to gain its maximum potential... Drainage and sewage treatment system, power and telcos as well with wide sidewalk and streets... Building officials don't have the guts and often than not politically apprehensive of implementing the building codes... Our politicians and gov officials visit foreign countries, why not adopt best practice in the countries they have visited... Do not copy boracay development. San Vicente is much more attractive when it's selling point is properly protected. Minimum disruptions of vegetation or replaced with development requires it... Keep the development far away from the sea shore.

Now its upto everyone else to follow these building guidelines so the area can be protected/enhanced into a sustainable tourist destination. The lack of infrastructure, hardly wifi signal will be a big challenge. At that time the airport was operating twice a week to Pampanga.
As far as I understood all the coastal area is already been bought and or is under ownership by the privilege ones.
San Vicente is known for the long beach but to be fair the best white sand pristine beaches arent in long beach.
Overall people are very friendly and the landscape is top notch, better than Puerto Princesa, El Nido and Port Barton
The fact that in El Nido which is so touristic there is not reliable wifi makes me think that San Vicente may remain as beautiful and empty as I have known it.

Me and my wife we love the sunsets there and the white sand. Very clear water lalo na they worked on the sewage issue. But i think what separates boracay is the development also. Hindi kase lahat ng tao gusto magbeach na hilaw pa. Other like the conveniences of more options for dining. Alot of fancy resorts and bars, and some want to live there kase completo yung isla. the problem is every beach wants to be boracay, abused. the ideal plan here should be development towards not to become a resort filled destination. this should be more like a natural park destination, where the beach , local fauna and flora are preserved. once develpments come in this will become another highly developed beach resort where abuese and corruption happen.

Their opinion is just that - opinion. There is a goos probability they are getting paid to promote an area.
