  • Laptop Turn on Automatically After Opening Lid [ Fixed]
    Command (to see lid options):
    powercfg -attributes SUB_BUTTONS 99ff10e7-23b1-4c07-a9d1-5c3206d741b4 -ATTRIB_HIDE
    Issues addressed in this tutorial:
    laptop turn on automatically after opening lid fixed
    laptop turns on automatically after opening lid
    laptop turns on automatically when plugged in
    laptop turns on automatically after shutdown
    laptop turns on automatically
    laptop turns on automatically after opening lid windows 10
    laptop turn on automatically after opening lid Lenovo
    why laptop turns on automatically
    my laptop turn on and off
    hp laptop turn on
    hp laptop turning on and off
    Most of the new laptops released in the past few years automatically start when you open the lid. For instance, my ThinkPad T450s automatically starts upon lifting the lid.
    Users can specify one of the following actions to take: do nothing or turn on the display.
    This tutorial will show you how to add or remove the Lid open action setting under Power buttons and lid in Power Options for all users in Windows 10.
    The feature is helpful as you don’t need to press the power button to start the laptop. Because of this feature, you will be able to resume your work almost instantly especially if you use the hibernate feature.
    There is no option in Windows 10 or earlier versions to turn on this feature. That is, if your laptop doesn’t support it, you cannot enable it. However, there seems to be a way to turn off the feature.
    There is no benefit in preventing the laptop from automatically starting upon opening the screen lid, but if you for some reason, you want to prevent the laptop from starting upon opening the lid, you can do so under Windows 10 power settings.
    This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops,and tablets running the Windows 10 operating system (Home, Professional, Enterprise, Education) from all supported hardware manufactures, like Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba, Lenovo, and Samsung.

    If you are on a surface laptop or surface pro, do this:
    1) Run Command Prompt as Administrator
    2) Type powercfg /devicequery wake_armed
    3) It may return the devices that wake the computer
    4) Window > Device Manager > Keyboards > Right click on "Surface Type Cover Filter device" > Properties > Power Management
    5) Uncheck "Allow this device to wake the computer"
    This will prevent the computer from turning on automatically when you open the lid.
    You may also want to do this same thing for the "HID-compliant mouse" and "HID Keyboard Device."

    Using High Performance power plan is a very bad idea especially on a laptop, but almost as harmful on a desktop PC. And it does not make your computer perform any better, but it will make it run hot (lifespan of the laptop is reduced) and consume much more power (battery running time and life reduced). Balanced is the one you definitely want to use in everyday use.

    • @snetzgaming
      @snetzgaming Год назад

      This is what I would probably do if your gonna have your laptop connected to the power 90% of the time then you could probably put high performance but if you take out or prefer to use it without the power have it on balance or low power

    • @jarnovilen5259
      @jarnovilen5259 Год назад

      @@snetzgaming no, that is not the way to go. Did you read my message at all? High performance DOES NOT GIVE YOU ANY EXTRA POWER compared to balanced. None, nada, nothing. It just makes your computer more hot and electric bill bigger. But if you choose to do stupid things, there you go, you get stupid prices.
