I just made my spouse leave for this reason and now I am contemplating divorce. Anyone who is okay to watch someone suffer (especially during a pandemic) needs a reality check. 6 yrs of this inconsistency and I am over it. I can do good/bad bymyself and my spouse is the one that taught me that. What a darn shame!!!!
My 2 month old marriage. I pay all the bills. My husband moved into my brand new home with his 2 children. I buy them everything and he won’t do activities unless I schedule and pay for them. He leaves them in the house all day and they tear my place apart, so I do plan things to get them out. His gas tank is always full, everything is always done for him and his 2 boys, but I could just as soon drop dead. Two weeks after we married he got a life insurance policy on me, asked me to leave my house to his sons, had me add him and his sons to my job beneficiaries- and has yet to secure me financially in any way. He refuses to drive, always jumping in the passenger seat so I can chauffeur him and his 2 kids. Now he wants me to take out a 50K loan for house projects, to fix both our vehicles and pay off credit card debt. We’ve only been married a couple months, and I have an appointment with a divorce lawyer. I want him and all his baggage, gaslighting and exploitation out of my life. I can’t wait to cancel this mistake. His children are insufferable and disrespect me and my home every single day. My life sucks
My husband is taking advantage of me in this way. He knows I will do what it takes to take care of our son. I tried budgets, cutting him off financially and he still won’t pay bills. I struggle with asking him to leave because I know it will deeply hurt our son. Our son is autistic and is very sensitive about his environment more so than other children and a major change of breaking up our family will be so devastating for him but I can’t live like this. I’m so leaning toward a legal separation
What does he do with his income if he doesn't pay any bills?.... He needs to understand as an adult you can't be leeching of other people. You shouldn't have married someone who thinks like that at the start now you gotta clean up the mess.

I have breast cancer and I have to pay all the bills I got a man who. Lost his job 5 years ago and he refused to pay any bills at all ! I'm on a low fixed income and struggling,he knows I can't leave him because I need someone to help me because of my health,why do men take advantage of women like this

Life insurance policy is a huge red flag! He may be considering ending you. Take action immediately! Stay safe.

Exactly. Let him go find someone else to put up with that ish.
Basically just stop paying the bills. Let the house go. It’s his job. Not yours. Tell him your not paying and stick to that.
He might be using you as a placeholder or to save-up
some money. And then he will leave you, when is done. I would have left him, long-time ago.
