    A lady had CO2 laser treatment, Botox® for her forehead, and Juvederm for parentheses lines and jowls. She liked the results, but regrets not having anything done for her crepey, saggy neck. She wants to know if there’s a procedure outside of a neck lift that she could have done.
    New York oculoplastic and reconstructive surgeon Amiya Prasad, M.D. reviews her concerns in this video, explaining how a sagging neck can also be attributed to the sagging of facial volume and skin, and how surgery is needed for the best outcome, but limited results can be achieved without extensive surgery:
    1:14 - Dr. Prasad details his background training in cosmetic oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery, as well as his experience as a facial and neck rejuvenation specialist
    2:42 - Dr. Prasad assesses this lady’s case and talks about how a face and neck lift may be beneficial for her
    3:27 - Dr. Prasad talks about the suture suspension neck lift which is a limited procedure that doesn’t require extensive surgery
    5:42 - Dr. Prasad discusses how thermal energy devices such as lasers play a role in improving skin quality, texture, and tone
    7:44 - Dr. Prasad explains how face and neck lifting procedures are done in his practice, and gives his recommendation

    Hi Dr. So if someone from the west coast travels to you for the suture neck lift, how long would they have to wait before flying back home. Of course this is based on your confirmation that the suture neck lift is an appropriate procedure for the individual. Thank you.

    If you have a facelift in your 50s, how does your skin age after? Will it sag again as you age more, and is that somewhat mitigated by your prior facelift? Can you have another facelift?

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD

      Hi Anna Te,
      Sagging skin, soft tissue, and muscle are all tightened by a facelift, but it sagging due to aging does continue. You can have another facelift later on. You can review this video about the factors that affect the longevity of a facelift - ruclips.net/video/ZNQ3B9c_hjE/видео.html

      Hi Lbaby Tutorials,
      Sorry to hear about your problem. Since you are still very young so you shouldn't have loose skin, it may be preferable to use a neurotoxin like Botox to relax the platysma instead. Neck lines can also treated non-surgically in someone your age with laser skin tightening. You can refer to this video about non-surgical, and surgical treatment options for the neck - ruclips.net/video/S210_81tHlE/видео.html

    At a certain age if you want the desired effect you have to go under the knife. No doubt. I had a neck and face lift and upper lip lift. However this did not fully address everything. I have the abysmal platysmal issue and am going to my plastic surgeon tomorrow to discuss what can be done. These fellas aren't miracle workers. They don't have a magic wand. So the patient has to appreciate there can still be areas even a deep plane facelift and necklift cannot address. Thank you doctor for the info.

    This is so informative. I had MyEllevate to include the cutting of my hands and several Profound treatments. Lots of money and still have not achieved the results I want. I still have some minor skin laxity in the front of the neck still so I think I should have saved all that money and torture lol for the main event, a neck lift like she suggested in the very beginning of my journey. I am about to schedule it with Dr S Rostami here in Fairfax Va. any advice?

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD
      @AmiyaPrasadMD  11 месяцев назад

      Hi @SashaWolffMedia,
      It’s important to remember that the laser itself does not cause complications like facial volume loss, nor does it determine successful results, but rather the experience and judgment of the doctor using the laser or other device. The device is just a tool, and it’s the doctor’s judgment using the tool that separates great results from ineffectiveness, or potential complications. You can refer to this video about it - ruclips.net/video/kZuz3PoTi0I/видео.html

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD
      @AmiyaPrasadMD  Год назад +1

      Hi Angie Taylor,
      Relatively speaking, a suture suspension would cost less than a full neck lift as it's a less involved procedure. We are introducing a new, minimally invasive neck rejuvenation procedure soon that goes beyond a suture suspension, but still not as involved as full neck lift, or a full face and neck lift, so watch this space to see it soon. I hope this clarifies things for you.

    Hello Doctor, what is your opinion on a Direct Neck incision to remove the fat and tighten the muscle of the neck. I see many pictures of men having this procedure done and they look awesome after. I'm a 56 year old woman who had a previous superficial parotid tumor removed and I was told by several plastic surgeons that they are unable to do a face lift on me (nerve damage risk is too high). I was also told the direct method is very safe and faster healing time using a z-plasty. I was informed the scar would be permanent but the extra skin would be gone. Is it worth it to replace a tighter firmer neck for a visible scar that would be there the rest of my life? Since I'm not a man who can hide it easy with a beard hair. Thanks!

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD
      @AmiyaPrasadMD  Год назад

      Hi @TJay-dy8pv,
      I will have a new video soon about how a neck lift can be done with only small incisions that aren't visible soon after the procedure. I would have to see you in consultation to see if you are a candidate for this procedure, or if you would require a more extensive neck lift at your age. I hope this clarifies things for you.

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD
      @AmiyaPrasadMD  3 года назад +1

      Hi Tara T,
      Barbed sutures are used in threadlifts, which only lift the skin, and not the deeper tissue. I don't perform threadlifts because if you only lift the skin, and not the deeper tissue, results won't last as long. I hope this clarifies things for you.

    After the neck procedure how many days till I could fly?

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD
      @AmiyaPrasadMD  4 года назад +3

      Hi GM Jo,
      I do have my patients restrict flying for 1-2 weeks, depending on the procedure as we want to ensure first there are no issues with swelling, bleeding, or infection after surgery. For a more extensive neck lift, even when coupled with a facelift, I would have patients not fly for about two weeks after the procedure. For a less extensive suture suspension neck lift, I would have patients wait at least a week to fly, usually after the sutures are removed. The 2 week flying restriction is already takes into account faster recovery using local anesthesia with LITE IV sedation, as using general anesthesia for these procedures would take longer recovery, and a longer flying restriction. I hope this clarifies things for you.

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD
      @AmiyaPrasadMD  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Mary Harris,
      Although I don't use Accutite in my practice, it is possible to tighten jowls and perhaps reduce fat that's causing them with a thermal treatment, as well as tighten skin around the lower face and neck. However, I would have to perform a physical exam to assess your situation before recommending specific treatments. I hope this clarifies things for you.

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD

      Hi Giselle Baham,
      A suture suspension is different from a threadlift, as threadlifts only lift the skin. A suture suspension also lifts the internal tissue, but is not as extensive as a full neck lift. I hope this clarifies things for you.

    How can a neck lift help a person with double chin over the age of 50?

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD
      @AmiyaPrasadMD  6 лет назад +3

      Hi Ana Cruz,
      A double chin is likely best treated with facial liposculpture/ liposuction to reduce the fat, then perhaps a neck lift if laxity of the skin under the chin persists. I would need to physically assess your situation before giving a definitive recommendation. I hope this clarifies things for you.
