Peter has always been such an engaging interviewee. True gentleman. I wish him the very best on his upcoming farewell tour. Thanks for posting these clips, all at the Stern show.
He is the reason I started playing guitar at 13 back in 1976 .What a magic time. Thank you for the memories and continued happiness to you and your family
I just went to see Peter in Gifford NH on his farewell tour and he was so so incredible. I expected him to be past his hay day and NOT sound like he did during his Frampton comes alive days. I was shocked beyond belief. He sounded even better! I love this sweet man! An immeasurable talent and a true gentlemen!
A class act is Frampton. Love his humble demeanor. Saw him preform at Interlochen Fine Arts camp, summer 2018. He and Greg Allman were the double bill that evening. We went to see Allman but have no regrets concerning Frampton set. Also saw Frampton preform "Comes Alive" tour date in 1976 with his band.
I was in the US Army stationed in W.Germany in 1967 and picked a 45 by Frampton's ffirst band -- The Herd...it was sort of a pop band. The song was"From the Underworld"..it stands up quite well 48 years on. I admire his work so much-- he's killer blues player I will try to catch his four when they play MSG
I managed a nightclub in Ohio back in the early 90's, Jerry Shirley was a DJ on the local rock station. Jerry would also guest DJ at the club, once in awhile. Peter was in town and dropped by to see a local band that was playing that night. He could have not been a nicer guy, we had a nice chat about music in general, and me growing up on their music. Total class act....
On being #2 to Clapton, if you check out the 1997 Ringo Starr's All-Starr Band vid from their Detroit show, Peter and Jack Bruce dominate the proceedings and on the Cream songs, Peter and Jack are having the time of their lives. While Peter plays those differently than Eric, he and Jack are just amazing to watch and listen to, driving each other forward through each tune.
I have to be honest here: when Frampton Comes Alive was released it was played Ad Nausea on the FM stations and of course, it worked its way onto our parties, but I always liked and respected his guitar playing, so we survived .. ( laughing). And to hear of his illness is a sobering reminder that in the end, we are human after all. Damn, this angers me, he truly is a nice gent who deserves to stop playing on his decision and not that of illness.
Frampton’s a class act all the way! An all around nice guy and he sings well and plays well. I’m sad now that he found out he has a condition which is going to take his guitar 🎸 playing abilities away. That is going to be sad and cruel! So he’s going on a farewell tour kind of like Glen Campbell did. It’s going to be a very emotional tour. I wish the best for him and pray for him that he recovers. You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone! Sad but true! God Bless Peter Frampton!
How would you sum up your contribution to George Harrison’s All Things Must Pass album? The liner notes and credits have always been sketchy at best. My contribution was acoustic guitar. I was involved in five of the basic tracks with Badfinger, all playing acoustic guitars, including George and myself. So there were about three of them. Well, there were at least five of us. You're talking about Phil Spector, so “More is more” [laughs]. There were at least five of us on acoustic guitars, and then Pete Drake, the steel player, came over half-way through during those five tracks, and we did some of the more country ones, like "If Not for You," which Bob Dylan had written. After I'd done those, which I believe were the last tracks George did on the album, he called me up after a few weeks and said, "Phil wants more acoustic guitars on the tracks." I remember laughing at the time. This time it was just me and George at Abbey Road, the same studio where the Beatles had done Sgt. Pepper.it's pretty heady stuff, even to this day. I was looking through the glass, and there was Phil Spector. We were literally sitting in front of the glass, the two of us on stools, and I don’t know how many tracks I played on because they just kept adding acoustic guitars to anything with acoustics on it. The most enjoyable part of that whole thing was in between, when they would change reels, because it was analog, obviously, George and I would start jamming. We were playing whatever; you name it, we were jamming on it. That was the highlight for me, to jam with George and just have fun.
'Second to Eric Clapton'.....Nobody puts Frampton in a corner, What an awesome story, I also have a Beatle story, I stood on one once, might be spelt Beetle though.
i like this new howard stern ... he's gotten rid of the "wack pack" (which had it's time and place within the evolution of the show) and like everyone else should be doing in life, moving on to that next chapter. good for him!
Howard does excellent interviews now. He's matured and is very listenable now. Back in the 90s he was just a morning show character with little substance. But now I think he's great. You can only have so many female long distance squirting contests in the studio before it just gets old.
Peter Frampton is such a nice fellow!
Peter is a great storyteller and a true gentleman. He's a supertalent who doesn't know he is a supertalent, and that is a good thing.

Frampton is always lovely!
"Frampton Comes Alive" remains one of my favorite album, great songs and beautiful playing.
He is the reason I started playing guitar at 13 back in 1976 .What a magic time. Thank you for the memories and continued happiness to you and your family
George Harrison and Peter Frampton the best
Peter Frampton is such a lovely guy. Great talent too.
I love stories where big stars are humbled, like we would be, when they meet bigger stars

Peter Frampton , " always showing us the right way "
Love Peter Frampton!

Great, great effin record. One of the best records of all time.
Love you, Peter! 💙💚💜
You’re a legend Pete. Saw you in Lisbon years ago. Awesome gig! 👍🏻
Excellent. Many thanks for posting this.

Interesting guy. I enjoy these clips again, I signed up for Sirius XM just for the video.
Legendary person and guitar player. Where are these talents today?

Peter is such a lovely man
So sad that Peter Frampton retire. Such a great guy.
Going to see Peter in Nashville next week I hear he lives there now looking forward to show
How can you not like Pete?
So true !!! :^)
I Saved a Bird Today sounds very George like to my ears.

Were the Van Eaton brothers involved?
I sure hope he writes his memoirs soon
Dude comes alive.
He’s a good dude
Some of the George's codenames were Hari Georgeson and L'Angelo Mysterioso.
Yes.
Hey Frampton....please sign my Comes Alive 8 track......and cassette and CD.
Apple Jam was my favorite track.
Peter rock royalty....end of.
'Second to Eric Clapton'.....Nobody puts Frampton in a corner, What an awesome story, I also have a Beatle story, I stood on one once, might be spelt Beetle though.
What song is he referring to?
It's gonna be something off that GH album, 'all things must pass', but it's hard to tell what. Could be the title track. Check the credits?
Well, i think he said it was a single. The two singles from the album were My Sweet Lord and What is Life. Could be any of those.
Maybe "The Art of Dying" from "All things must pass" gives you a clue. Kudos from Guadalajara, México 9/march/2019 ✌😎
I would have to think its "What is life".
He said it was the first single. My Sweet Lord was first. Maybe it was something else though.
LOL I never knew he had an accent all these years. Probably because I never heard him talk in a interview.....
What sort of an accent?
Bobby Whitlock says he didn’t play on the album.
Why hasn't Frampton written an autobiography?
Which songs he played with Harrison?
I think he plays lead on "I'd Have You Anytime"
I've always enjoyed Framptons guitar work but when it came to Pie, Steve Marriott just dominates the stage
It's a shame Steve died right as the two of them were starting a new project. Huge voice and presence for a small guy.
Frampton's leads on 'Rock On' are simply amazing! Same for 'Performance...'. I love his jazzy lead playing.
Who would take being called second to Eric Clapton an insult (well, maybe Jimi Hendrix).

coffeehigh420 yea now he does wine tasting through assholes bits...
he has been in America so long, his English accent is almost all gone
John and George always got other guitar players on there albums...l never understood that..they should be playing guitar..
I'm a big PF fan going back 45 years
Never knew this story til now.
I have ATMP on CDs....is Frampton listed as a player on it?
David DeMar i think thats how he learnt about the talkbox used on show me the way
i wonder what song it was.....
