Hi Scott- Found you from Lumberjocks.
I like the way the linseed oil brings out the grain. See you in the next installment!
Commercial Forest I like to hear you're enjoying this. Thank you for taking the time to post your comment. Scott
I've been enjoying this series so far - Great to it progressing!
Thank you! Happy to hear you're enjoying this. Scott
Great video series 👌🏻👍
Thank you, I appreciate the feedback. Scott
The sudden slow-mo with the music was so out of left field for you that it made me burst out laughing. Thanks for that
Glad you enjoyed that surprise. I had the same reaction when I edited the video. Cheers
It seemed like the bottom of the main cabinet and left side did not get linseed oil, maybe it was just the lightening and wood grain. Ever since I first saw this cabinet on your other Channel I thought how lovely and innovative it was. I loved how everything was in easy reach and the color contrast is lovely.
Glad you like it Judy. Thanks for sharing that. Scott
I enjoyed the video, look forward to the rest of the series. You should have kept the chipmunk music going though, it was epic!
Red Owl lol, I'm glad you liked my sense of humour there. Thanks for following along on this build. Scott
Another great video Scott. Absolutely love the manual drill. Looking forward to the next video. Cheers
Thanks Jay. Yes, that brace and bit drill sure worked well. Scott
😍
Samuel Roberts lol. Thanks
Hi Scott, this was part of your reply to my comment on the last video:
"I appreciate you posting your comment. No offence taken. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the next video where you see the repair with the finish applied... even if you don't like it. Cheers. Scott"
My thoughts are still the same I'm afraid. I couldn't live with it. If it were for a client you couldn't get away with it. You commented on my suggestion of cutting a mitre and not being able to clamp it. You would with screw clamps rather than the pump type. Screw clamps would pull it together glued or not.
However this would just bring it square and not get rid of the gaps in the joint. A quick check for square while the glue was wet would have highlighted the unseen open joint.
The piece itself is lovely. I'd be happy to have it on my wall. One point I hope you completed the oiling inside the drawer compartments and on the bottom, otherwise you leave it open to absorbing moisture on one side which leaves it open to warping. Great job.
Thanks for your feedback Graham. I appreciate that. Cheers. Scott
Why no screw clamps all work shops should have them. Even my small work shop has more screw clamps than pump, just my opinion.
Part of me thinks you misaligned that joint deliberately to show off masking skills
Lol, I wish I didn't make mistakes, but it happens sometimes. Scott
