- There is one town where entire blocks have disappeared under winter waves without fanfare. It’s called North Cove, Wash. Haven’t heard of it? That’s because much of the community - the post office, school, the Grange Hall, the clam cannery - are gone, gobbled up by the hungry Pacific Ocean. If you have heard of this place, you may know the town by its nickname: Washaway Beach.
It isn’t all underwater. Community members have rallied to take on Mother Nature.

I remember the school, on the west side of the road,,,,early 60's
I wish someone would ever mention the old ww2 shore guns that were there. I have pictures of them when they were back in the woods.
That family is about to have their own Island
no island the whole area is just going away more and more all the time
But they won't enjoy it, pretty wicked erosion & land it takes
