Ronnie, that shaggy dude was key to remolding my mind towards cycling. I will always recite this mantra to myself. "To just ride my bike around the block and not worry about what clothes I wear and just ride. "
You're nailing it Russ! I like the way you've been connecting with other popular RUclipsrs who are among my favorites. It certainly adds to content.
"You should definitely come down and check it out!"
Field trip! Would LOVE a video tour of this facility! I've purchased Sackville bags produced in Waterbury going back over a decade. ❤
As a small business owner myself I felt so sympathetic with how you guys found taking on a new venture, and how that messes with how you see yourself in your new roles (and the mental struggles). So inspiring, thanks all for this discussion, I really enjoyed it. Love from Aotearoa New Zealand
Ronnie and Nam, and Russ too, y’all inspire and make me feel good!
Really great chat with some genuinely interesting and innovative people!
Awesome conversation. Thanks for sharing.
It was an absolute joy to watch this ♥️
team grimace represent...huge fan of spooky! i remember a trail 66 series race with spooky frames being chucked into the crowd!
Ooh, wide toe box cycling boots, that would be amazing. Not into leather though, I hope there will be a fabric version.
Congrats!, this is so fortunate!
a little late to the party but I absolutely support the larger cycling shoe movement! I have size 13 feet and very wide so cycling shoes have always been a pain. Years of cutting seams in the side fabric of the shoes to allow stretching and buying expensive wide models are over. I went back to flat pedals and ride around in my Luna Sandals and always have a smile. I would love to try out these shoes if they come back into stock however!
I am also lucky to have a boutiquey bike shop in Paris that started carrying Ron's Bags and caps (got a cap myself, love it) and someday when the money is more abundant, I will definitely be getting one of these roll-top set-ups.
Thank you Russ for such a great interview, especially with characters in the industry who support and are dedicated to the real ethos of cycling, having fun.
So pleased and surprised that this great conversation somehow included Arthur Schopenhauer. Bravo Russ.
also a big fan.
Love what your guests are doing. I would have liked to hear more about their plans and products.
The bike biz is being thrashed at every turn on RUclips and that part of your show I can live without. This era will pass.
Great chat. Thanks for the content. Would love you to have continued with the theme touched on in the last ten minutes.
I love the ethos of this. I’m in the lucky position of being in between a town renowned for shoe production and another famous for making bicycles. Unfortunately both industries have since died decades ago, but where there’s inspiration there’s hope…
Does anyone know if the factory is union organized? It's also strange that the factory didn't revert to collective ownership given the health problems of the previous owners, but seems like an awesome opportunity for Ron's Bikes nonetheless. Good luck!
I would be extremely suprised if not. Arya very much lives her politics.
I guess the reason it's not immediately become a worker's co-op is because they've probably put the initial investment in to allow the business to continue, and then the staff will gradually gain ownership.
You could always email them and ask?
I wonder if they reached out to Bailey Works at all
I can think of another Connecticut bike company that got their start with softgoods! Still have 2 of their 24” rear wheeled masterpieces…..in aluminum
U.R. should put a FM radio station on the roof. smOOth jazz at night, ska and psych all day.
symbiosis achieved!
this. 100% this!!!!! why I am star struck by Ronnie. His discussion at 1hr in about mountain biking. Over engineering, and marketing driven. ugh.
Ha that intro music sounds like Fingertips - The Brian Jonestown Massacre
Great convo, thanks y’all!
Stooookkkkkeeddddd

You have to work on your introductions. I have no idea who these people are.
aren't you on a computer with internet?
@@poiuytrewdfghjksa Come on, it’s very basic and simple rule when doing any interview that you introduce the interviewees to the viewer so the they don’t have to google their names to understand the context of the interview.
@@stevevarga8621The interview is already 1.14.00 long. Ron’s website is in the description. They all did a good job and provided the necessities. No complaints here!
Painful…
F-ing Beautiful.
