I knew it was Manji going with her because Salome has a whole salon to run. So happy for her. I hope she’ll go to school and go on to do great things in China. This was a bittersweet moment 🥹🥹. Leaving family to go back so far away is never easy, but I’m happy Mom and Manji are going back with her to experience China😊. I can’t wait for the reunion with Lawu. Now that’ll be a tearjerker 🥹🥲.

How beautiful and authentic is this love story of worlds so far apart…. Deli’s little sister has never been outside her village! Mum is stoic because this time she is coming too. Last time it was harder because two of her girls were going. This time she will see Lawu, grandpa, Dou Dou and the house warming party too🙏🧡. Felli is a blessed child, so humble, beautiful and hardworking.

I'm curious to see how the two mothers will merge their respective cultures after Lawu puts to bed. Traditional Chinese confinement which her wonderful mother in law has been talking about would mean that Lawu cannot have her bath or wash her hair for the 30-40 day period whereas for we Africans, our mothers use hot water to massage us all over our bodies and our stomach to get things moving. Hopefully with better understanding of the importance of cleanliness and how germs can accumulate on our bodies if we don't wash up and with easy access to hot water, a more modern approach on the confinement will be taken considering the fact that the whole idea behind not bathing was to prevent the mother from catching a cold and to prevent the pores being open. The aspect of rest and being taken care of during that period is really lovely.

In the West getting out of bed is important and a long time ago a woman can take a full bath after 8 days. I don't like that loooong confinement.
@@filet-mignon You are welcome. Neither do I. I can't even imagine not taking my bath. There is a Uganda lady " Gladys Lin" also married to a Chinese man and who recently had a baby who has defied the no bath rule during her confinement . Lol...She is keeping to the diet though but does her thing with the hot water massages. I also don't believe that Tina of " Awazi Tina Family" would have complied with same. I believe that with time, there will be modifications to some of these old age practices.

Such bittersweet moments... first was touched by the family telling Zheng is always welcome...then Fellis emotional goodbyes last l lost it and cried my eyes when when Princes Feir didn't want to leave... she has grown so much attached to her uncles and cousins.. ❤
Pau spoke for the first time. She wanted to know the Chinese word for potato and she taught Zeng the Swahili word for potato. She has been so shy and quiet, some of us thought she was hearing impaired and mute. I re watched the old video showing Felista's first visit home, her beautiful deaf mute sister Mariam was coincidentally back home from USA where she was studying under sponsorship of a US family.
She spoke when Lao li was still there. I can't remember what he gave her but she did a little curtsy, smiled and said thank you.

This is nice for them to see how their daughters and sisters are living, meeting their families and the Community as well. It will be a wonderful experience for Lawu to have her mum there when she has the baby and for them to also experience Chinese culture and also see how Felista has flourished with her new home and the blessings of the Chinese people.
